Edward Fucci Sr., 56, dies

Mr. Fucci was a longtime Standardbred owner in New York and served on the board of directors of the Standardbred Owners Association of New York.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; children, Edward Jr., Amanda, Christopher, and Danielle; granddaughter, Sofia; soon to be daughter-in- law, Melanie; son-in-law, Robert Rasulo; mother, Anna; aunt, Michalina Carbone; brother, Gregory; sisters, Deborah Asadoorian and Cheryl Anstett; brother-in-law, Frank Sansone; sister-in-law, Donna Nunes; mother-in-law, Julia O'Neill; Maria Sansone; and numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Adolph.

Throughout his life, Mr. Fucci's true passions were his family and his business. From an early age, he built his success from the ground up, which is a true testament to his unmatchable work ethic. His children were his life and he was always their team's number one fan.

For all that were lucky enough to know him, you know that he was the epitome of paying it forward, he was always the first one to help someone out and if he couldn't help them he would find someone who could. His ability to light up a room as soon as he walked in and to touch the lives of everyone he met will never be forgotten by those who knew him.

Wake will be held at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave., Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., on Thursday (May 17) from 7-9 p.m. and Friday (May 18) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 59 E. Main St., Elmsford, N.Y., on Saturday (May 19) at 10 a.m.
