RACE 1 - (6) GABBYS GIRL was sent off at 1/5 last week off the barn change and the public certainly got
this one right, as she beat the field by more than a dozen lengths - pretty hard to pick against her off that
mile, but she'll likely be a similarly miniscule price again tonight. (5) KATHYS MOMENT shipped down
from Canada and was a winner in both of her Chester starts - if you're looking to take a shot against the top
choice, she'd probably be the one to use. (4) HELLRUNNER HANOVER seemed to just lose interest at the
back last week so we'll just ignore that mile - she's just 1 for 27 on the year, but she hit board in 12 of those
losses, and does have the speed to work out a good trip here - use underneath. (7) TWEETER HANOVER
actually was sent off at 3/5 in her last start in PA but came up 2nd best to #5 - chance for a piece here, even
from Post 7. (1) TIME TO IMAGINE is hard to predict from week to week but she has shown some ability
at times at and 20-1 ML, she's not a bad one to throw in underneath. (3) ROLL WITH SHORTY is just 1
for 16 here this year but has been 2nd or 3rd 9X - another with a chance for a small piece. (8) IDEAL CHIP
just didn't function last time but she has rallied late a few times - ok bomb for 3rd if spreading in trifectas.
(2) SWELLOKINBEACH is 10-0-0-0 in her Yonkers career.
RACE 2 - Tough race: (4) KASEY JOHN A finished ok from an impossible spot in his first start for his
new barn 2 back, then was caught FOUR wide a long way last week from another impossible spot (but did
keep trying right to the end) - finally gets some post relief, and we'll see if that's enough to make him a
more serious threat this week. (1) DAVIDS COMING HOME was no factor at all in his last 3 starts but he
drops down to the level he beat 4 starts back, and also draws the pole - decent chance we'll see a wake up
call tonight. (3) HASH TAG SWAG always "figures", is usually right in the hunt but he's just 1 for 15 at
Yonkers (finishing 2nd 5X) - has a chance for sure, but don't take a short price on top. (5) ROCK N TONY
just backed up horribly from the pocket last week but it's probably a good sign that he's right back in the
box for his new connections - if he can shrug off that last effort, he can be a player here. (2) SHOREVIEW
showed some gameness last week, digging in to hold off the tripsistter to the wire - moves up to face better
now, and that may limit him to a smaller piece this time. (8) ITSGOODTOBEDAKING beat the 20s a
couple of times, beat the 25s last week, and now jumps up to try the 30s - would have given him a longer
look if not for the terrible draw. (6) AWESOMENESS has just been a "piece getter" at this level, and the
outside draw won't help his chances for better tonight. (7) MY DELIGHT really needs to be in cheaper -
and with a much better post.
RACE 3 - (7) IRON MISTRESS may be worth a stab in a pretty wide open race - she never really
blossomed after the private purchase, but she's still a pretty solid performer against these types - that 20-1
ML price does make her an attractive option. (2) EYE POPPING has yet to replicate that front end blowout
from 9/16 but she hasn't been horrible either - might be a spot where she can go for an aggressive try. (4)
WALTZWITHSIERRAA is still looking for that first U.S. win after looking so promising in her first
couple of stateside tries - would probably have been the top pick against these had she not been off a month
(after a sick scratch on 11/3). (1) CORAL BELLA was claimed out of her last and went out a winner for
her old connections - she'll be an up front player throughout here, and it would hardly be a shock if she was
able to take another, even up in class. (6) J ROCKIN B was unable to hang on in the latter stages for her
new barn last week, although at least she was much better than in her other recent starts - will need to be
better if she hopes to win from out here. (3) HIGH ROLLING was a close 2nd behind #1 last week, once
again failing to finish well enough - her (lack of) stamina has been killing her for a while. (8) ACEFOURT
YFOUR ALEX is good right now, but will be coming from last - maybe can rally for a small piece? (5) A
CRAFTY LADY beat cheaper in PA last week but her recent local tries just haven't been good enough.
RACE 4 - (1) BEST HEAD WEST is just 1 for 17 this year but has been facing good stock in Canada and
has earned $83K (on the heels of a $143K season as a 2YO) - moves a very sharp outfit for her local debut,
draws the pole, and deserves the nod in what's actually a good NW6 field. (2) BITTY BITTY is 3 for 3
since arriving at Yonkers and has shown both speed and determination so far - she'll be facing better now,
but acts like she's up for it - legit threat. (4) TENTHOUSAND ANGELS really appreciates the easy trips
Bongiorno has been giving her, and responds with crisp late finishes - certainly belongs in your exotics. (7)
VIOLETS RAINBOW won her first 2 starts off the big barn change but clearly had some issue in her 3rd
attempt - bounced right back with the pocket victory in her last, and really the only knock tonight is the
draw - but she'd hardly be a surprise. (3) LINE EM UP has been solid overall lately, and only lost 2nd at the
very end last week (to #4) - ok for a smaller share. (5) TEMPURA HANOVER returns from Chester
sporting some solid form, but she's just 5-0-0-1 here at Yonkers and this is a pretty strong field - leaning
towards others. (6) BABS JANSEN likely fits very well with these but she was scr. sick on 11/3 and has
been away ever since - will just watch, for now. (8) TIAMOGONEDANCEN earned herself a two hole trip
last week but fell apart in the stretch - guessing she'll be handled conservatively this time.
RACE 5 - (1) DC ANNA caught a very fast mile last week and can be excused for being unable to make up
any ground - this field should be far more to her liking, and she looms the one to beat from the pole. (3)
BRIDGE WORKS shipped in from Stga. sporting some excellent form, so it was a little disappointing
when he weakened to 3rd off the two hole trip - eligible to be sharper tonight, and could be the main danger
(6) LIMERENCE seems off his best form, but this is the type of field where he would normally be a solid
player - worth including in exotics at that 15-1 ML price. (2) FREDDIE MAC has been solid out of town
recently, but he's historically camera shy here at The Hilltop (2 for 33 last 3 years) - ok to use underneath in
exotics. (4) STEALING sports some terrific form in a long series of Amateur events, and his local slate is
an outstanding 21-9-4-3...he does appear to be a bit cheaper than the main players, but we'll get a better
picture after tonight. (5) MAKING SPARKS has been rallying steadily in his last few starts against cheaper
- not sure his late kick can have as much impact against these, however. (8) MAGNIFICENT SEVEN was a
dream trip winner vs. cheaper 2 back, then made a break in his last - draws Post 8 tonight, and doesn't
figure to be able to get into the hunt. (7) TORKIL just hasn't been sharp and lands outside - wait for a better
spot (and class drop, after tonight).
RACE 6 - (4) MY MIND IS MADEUP went a BIG effort off the claim, used hard for all of the hot :26.4
opener, barely avoiding a shuffle before 3/4s, coming out first over on the final turn then gaining quickly at
the end to just miss - deserves a play tonight, hoping for an easier journey. (2) TIME OUT IM TIRED went
that big winning mile 4 back but did little before or after that...makes his first start tonight for the hottest
barn in the game right now, and it would be hard to NOT have him on your tickets. (8) MAGRITTE has
certainly come back to life since the claim on 10/1 and we've seen him string together many good efforts in
a row when he's gotten sharp in the past - won't be easy from out here, but worth at least considering if the
price is juicy enough. (3) STARK HANOVER disappointed for his new connections last week, and may be
better suited against the 20s - not writing him off just yet, but leaning towards others for tonight. (1) MAJE
STIC KIWI N has been on a good roll up at "The Ridge" but he comes into tonight off a sick scratch, he's
moving up quite a bit in class, and he was 14-0-0-1 here earlier this year - it's hard to endorse him for a
wager at that low 5/2 ML price. (5) WAVES OF FIRE A can throw a decent one every now and then - ok to
use for 3rd/4th, at a big price. (7) SULLIVAN raced just "ok" in his local debut, and now draws poorly for
tonight - would prefer to wait for a better spot. (6) CLASS SIX has a couple of recent excuses but just
doesn't seem to be clicking right now - he also draws poorly as he debuts for a new barn.
RACE 7 - (3) BRILLIANT BOB was pretty good last week, used early for a spot then able to rally in the
stretch for 2nd behind the runaway winner - he's been facing better in most of his recent starts, and this may
be a field that's right in his comfort zone. (1) SOUL TRAIN shows some decent starts in the Monti Open
and that would surely make him a good fit with these - has the rail with speed (and Holland), and will likely
look to take these as far as he can. (2) SEVEN KNIGHTS will attract plenty of attention off the class drop
and this MAY be a field he can handle....but note that he's just 1 for 31 on the year before falling in love at
a pretty short price. (7) JUDGE KEN is hard to like off his recent form but he does get a catch driver for
tonight so there's at least a possibility of an improved effort - not a bad one for longshot fans. (8) PRESID
ENTE ZETTE was well backed dropping to this level last week but was a sluggish 4th - moves all the way
outside, and he'll need to find a much better effort to be a player from this tough spot. (4) WHETHER OR
NOT FI stopped making breaks, but also stopped being competitive recently - does go to a new barn here,
so there's at least a chance for an improved effort. (6) LINCOLN TUNNEL hasn't hit board in 6 local starts
and needs to up his game if he hopes be any part of this. (5) CHECKMATE HILL had to requalify after a
couple of breaks and just doesn't seem to be clicking at the moment.
RACE 8 - (1) CINNABAR DRAGON just turned things around in a big way with a blowout win on 10/8
(at the bottom claiming level) and has been sharp ever since, working his way all the way up to the 25s -
was just an "ok" 3rd last week, but look for a sharper try tonight. (4) PLAY THE FIELD is enjoying a
terrific 2021 season, and can go over the $100K mark with a win tonight...he just missed in his last pair,
and is a very legitimate threat to get the job done here. (5) MISTER SPOT A may be a little on the cheaper
side but he went a very good mile for 3rd at this level last week, and he'll probably be a decent price tonight
- worth including in exotics. (3) COACH CAL has been razor sharp, and his connections move him up two
classes tonight looking to "protect" him - they may avoid a claim, but they may also end up with a smaller
piece against this tougher crew. (2) IN SPADES is just 1 for 29 on the year and does his best work vs. a bit
easier - minor share only. (7) CARRACCI HANOVER bumped up to 25s off the claim 2 back and was able
to grab a 2nd, though helped greatly by the easy pocket trip - made a break last week, and draws poorly
tonight - prefer others this week. (6) CENTURY FURY shipped in with three wins vs. lesser at Chester and
flopped badly vs. the 30s last week - tonight's drop could help, but would still prefer to at last see a decent
effort before hopping on his team. (8) ROCK THE NITE failed to beat a horse in any of his last 3 starts and
now draws Post - waiting for some better signs before considering.
RACE 9 - (1) ON HIGHER GROUND was very sharp in those wins 2 and 3 back and just as good when
2nd last week (to #6, from a very tough spot) - draws the pole tonight and while he does face a couple of
tough ones, he still deserves top billing. (6) VAINQUEUR R P NO was sent off favored upon arrival from
Ohio and his new barn had him ready to deliver, hitting the top and scoring the easy wire to wire victory -
may end up with a tougher trip tonight, but still has to be seen as a major threat...belongs on your tickets.
(3) BLUE AND BOLD threw his first clunker in some time last week, but was instantly re-claimed by the
barn that sent him out to jog the week before - another with a solid chance IF he rebounds to his better form
(4) BLUFFINER seems a notch below the top trio but his good speed may at least put him in position to
pick up a small piece. (7) IN MY DREAMS has been incredibly consistent lately - lands in a terrible spot,
but would still use him for 3rd/4th (since he'll be a big price, despite his solid form). (2) LEVITATION
feels like he's tailed off a bit, and that won't work against the sharper ones in here - inside draw gives him a
shot at a minor piece. (8) HOMER HALL figures to be too far back to do any real damage tonight. (5)
RESITA feels like he needs to get back in easier to become a player again.
RACE 10 - (1) THEBEACHISCALLING beat a NW4 field as the 1/10 choice, won in NW6 at 1/5, then
jogged in this NW8 class last week at ten cents on the dollar - draws the pole once more and would be hard
to pick against....but this IS a better field than she's been beating, and perhaps not the best night to bet the
rent money at a very short price. (3) CHUPPAH ON was handled conservatively off the claim last week
and did finish alertly - moves inside, and is worth a look for exotics at that 20-1 ML price. (7) ANDRA
DAY rallied nicely for 3rds (from well back) in her first 2 local starts then was put on the front end last
week, wiring the field impressively - Post 7 won't be easy to overcome, but she may be able to still grab a
good piece in her sharp current form. (5) JODY won her first 2 starts in PA off the barn change, then was an
even 4th in NJ in her last - probably fits well here, and can make her presence felt at some point. (6)
MILIEU HANOVER struggled in her last 3 vs. older mares but is better than those lines suggest - she does
fit wit these, and isn't a bad bomb to at least consider for a piece. (4) RABLE has been sharp in Delaware,
but it's hard to gauge how she'll fit with this solid group - we'll find out tonight. (2) PURE COTTON debuts
for a new barn showing some poor recent midwest form, and having missed 25 days - maybe the tote board
will offer some clues?
RACE 11 - (3) VENIER HANOVER landed on an absolutely brutal trip last week so just forgive that line,
and he raced from 8 holes the 2 previous starts - hard to say how he'll respond to tonight's barn change but
he should like the post relief - may be able to charge on by late if the trip goes his way. (1) TOLLY HO
didn't fire his best shot last week (first time Super Siblings) but that doesn't mean he won't be sharper for
tonight - he's good enough to win from this spot with a little sharper effort. (4) ER VEGAS was claimed for
$15K 3 back - just missed vs. the 3/4YO $30K claimers in his next, then came up 2nd best vs. the open 30s
last week - legitimate threat. (5) MARINER SEELSTER was used very hard last week or he probably
would be coming into tonight riding a three race win streak - joins a new barn this week, and may or may
not be as sharp for his new crew....willing to use, but not at too short a price. (2) MACHIAVELLI hasn't
really been a real threat since being claimed on 9/24 but he hasn't been bad, either - chance for a small piece
with a good trip. (6) IWONTDOTHATAGAIN is just 1 for 31 this year but did pick up a 3rd at 84-1 last
week - ok bomb for 3rd again. (7) REAL LUCKY N was no factor off the barn change and lands in a
similar spot tonight. (8) JIMS PERFECT TEN was dull off the claim last start and now lands Post 8.
RACE 12 - (2) HAT TRICK MARLEAU seemed a bit overpriced at $32K at the recent sale but he looked
like a GOOD purchase after that strong, blowout win last week - certainly looked like he could step up a
notch and take another. (1) MAJESTIC MARVEL behaved himself last week and was able to easily wire a
softer bunch - if he builds some confidence from that sharp try, he can be a big player again tonight. (3)
BIG MONEY HONEY had been sharp for several weeks so it was surprising to see such an unaggressive
drive last week (ultimately leading to him getting jammed up and making a break in the stretch) - should be
looking at a good trip from this spot, and he's worth using in exotics (again). (5) ER SOPHIA doesn't look
great on paper right now but she's done some good work here in the past, gets Stratton on board and may
come up with a good effort - use underneath. (4) SHOWMEYOURGUNS isn't "sharp", but he's showing
some better signs - another that's playable on the bottom of exotics right now. (6) MUSCLE STAR hit
board in his last 3 starts but was denied a chance at the top prize due to some very tough trips - moves up in
class now and draws outside...and may need to wait for a better spot to be a serious player. (7) CON AIR
HALL may perk up moving to a new barn but he gets no luck with the draw tonight - will probably just
keep an eye, for next time. (8) HOBBS banked over $400K at 2 and 3 but never got going this year as a
4YO, winless in 11 starts - was just freshened up, but the draw will likely leave him waiting for a better
spot before we see if he's finally ready to step his game.
