RACE 1 – (2) YOUR BROTHER charged home (at 26-1) to just miss to #4 two back, then ALMOST knocked off
#7 last week, at 41-1 – obviously his price will come way down tonight, but it’s also clear that he’s back in that same
good groove he was in during the summer – one of a few we’ll use here looking to play against #7 tonight. (3) MOT
IVE HANOVER had been off form for a few starts but after going off 58-1 two back he was hammered down to 5/2
last week, and came up just a nose shy – could be a big threat here. (7) ITALIAN DELIGHT N is now an amazing
22-18-3-1 on the year and is riding an unfathomable 14 race winning streak– he did JUST hang on in his last 3 wins,
however, and now draws Post 7 for a barn that’s gone ice cold – may be the right week to go against him. (1) JOJOS
PLACE was ok 3 and 4 back, then was right there in his last pair– could be a very live player, once more. (5) ROCK
THIS WAY charged home for the victory 2 back, then rallied late to be 3rd last week– the one to look out for if things
get hot and heavy up front. (4) ON THE VIRG had been no good for a long time but took some sneaky tote action
last week and used an aggressive drive to pick up the victory – we’ll see if he can build off that, and be a threat here
too. (6) ROSE RUN X CON has no wins and one second from his 30 starts this year.
RACE 2 – (2) JUST A WRANGLER has 3 wins, two 2nds and a 3rd from his last 8 starts (with 7 holes in the other 2
races) – he’s certainly the one to knock off, but note that he goes for a new barn before betting the rent money (at a
pretty short price). (3) MACHLICIOUS is 0 for 19 at YR (last 2 years) and camera shy in general...but he returns
from NJ off a win in an amateur race, his overall form is solid and his barn is back on fire again – possibility. (4) LU
CIANO N lit up the toteboard with that win 3 back, raced well in his next, then landed on a tough trip last week –
worth a look if the price is juicy enough. (6) SWAGASAURUSREX was no factor in his last but hit board in 3
straight prior to that– not a bad bomb to consider if not a fan of the favorites. (1) HURRIKANE GEORGIE has been
struggling for a while – maybe he can grab a piece from the pole? (5) BETTER OFF SINGLE is one of the black
sheep in our leading barn, currently 22-0-1-2 here at Yonkers. (7) CENTURY IGLESIAS hasn’t come close to even
hitting the board in a long time.
RACE 3 – (1) TWO FACED was very hot early on last week, forced to move way earlier than he would have liked
and still finished well to be 4th – gets a rail draw for his new barn, and he’s had plenty of success against these types
this year – maybe can pull off the mild upset. (4) LOUS THE ATTITUDE saw his 3 race winning streak snapped
last week, but still raced very well to be a close 3rd (off a tough trip) – remains the one to beat. (2) FINAL CHEESE
RECIPE goes for a new barn tonight, is used to facing better and finally gets a good draw – can have a late say to be
part of the equation. (6) WARRIOR FOR TRUTH drops in for a tag after coming up with some decent tries in the
NW2-4 PM class – the tough draw may limit him a bit, however. (7) LYONS PRIDE has held his own with these
plenty of times, but generally from inside posts – seems like an impossible spot, but note that his barn (currently
being guided by catch drivers), is en fuego right now. (3) HIGH ON ROCKNROLL is 1 for 51 at Yonkers – minor
spoils only. (5) DONTTELLMENOW arrives from Delaware for a new barn but has missed a month.
RACE 4 – (6) TAQUINI HANOVER was handled very conservatively in her last start here (8 hole off a qualifier)
but certainly finished with plenty of trot – she followed that up with a good front end try in PA (finished 2
nd), and gets Bartlett back on board for her Yonkers return– definitely looks tempting at that 6-1 ML price (2) LUCKY
MUM N won both of her starts in the U.S. but probably didn’t display the same (major) ability she showed while
racing Down Under – she comes into this having missed a month, and seems a little iffy (at a short price) right now.
(1) CENTRAL PARK easily handled a softer field last week – she loses Stratton tonight, but Tyler Miller has
handled her well in the past – should be a live player. (4) NOTTINGHAM has an in and out season and a quick look
at his last 2 starts will confirm that still hasn’t changed – if he shows up in a good mood, he can have a say here. (5)
STORMCLOUDFASHION was a decent 3rd off the layoff 2 back, and a close 2nd last week – prefer others for the
top spot, but he could grab another good piece with the right trip. (3) ATTA GIRL DANI is winless in 21 starts this
year but is another that can show up late for a piece if things go her way. (7) CUSTOM FIT jogged here 2 back off
the barn change but folded badly after cutting the mile in his last – hard to know which version we’ll see tonight.
RACE 5 – (1) SHOWBOAT HANOVER was no factor in her first start off the barn change but put in a big one last
week, making a big brush at the winner (#8), battling hard a long way then holding well for 3rd after being repelled
into the lane – we’ve been mentioning here that her barn has really been on fire lately...and just came up with a 4
bagger on Tuesday night! (3) MYBITCOIN has hit board in 8 of her 9 Yonkers starts and is always charging at the
end – if she’s close turning for home, she can be a major late threat. (8) PASS AND STOW shipped down from
Canada and was an odds on winner in her first local start, fending off the top choice to deliver for a suddenly very
hot barn – she moves from the rail to Post 8, however, and we’ll see if she’s able to overcome that. (2) BELLUCCI
was a barnmate of the top choice until this week, and did win here on 8/10 – the month off is a concern, however. (4)
IN A WINK finished 2nd shipping in from Stga. 2 back but threw a dud last week – leaning towards others tonight.
(7) OAKWOOD DYNASTY IR has been well off form for some time, and tonight’s draw doesn’t figure to help. (5)
FATED FUTURE won 3 straight at Monti after returning from Iowa but the homebred will have to step up quite a
bit to hang with the top ones in here. (6) URSULA BLUE CHIP probably needs a better draw for a chance at a piece.
RACE 6 – Tough race: (5) BULLVILLES WINNER has been stuck on minor pieces at PcD lately but he’s been
facing older claimers, and he gets a barn change for tonight – could be a good value option in a race with no clear
standouts. (6) WOW LOVE has been racing well at Stga. after re-qualifying (after 2 breaks) – moves to a new barn,
and has some appeal at that 15-1 ML price. (4) FOREVER LION AS won his local debut at a big price but failed to
threaten in his 3 starts since then – could definitely perk up and be a threat here, but that 9/5 ML price does make
him hard to endorse on top. (2) QUEEN CABAL won here this year and she also has a few other starts that could be
enough to beat these – her latest efforts haven’t been great, however, so look for a good price is trying her on top
tonight. (3) ELEGANT RESOLVE seems to have some ability but she’s struggled to stay motivated throughout the
mile in her 3 local starts – she wouldn’t be a shock, but she’d also need to be a better price than that 7/2 ML listing.
(7) BARN CREDIT show promise at 2 but she changed hands before her 3YO season and has struggled ever since –
seems to race better out of town, than here at Yonkers. (8) DONTMESSWITHMAMA had a good looking Monti
win 3 back, followed that up with a 2nd at The Swamp but was no factor here at Yonkers last week – another bad post
may really hurt her chances again tonight. (1) MY SPECIAL T just looks overmatched.
RACE 7 – (5) IM AN ANDOVER had a solid 3YO campaign but only recently returned at 4 – he gets a new trainer
and driver for tonight, and should be tight enough with a couple of starts now under his belt – should offer good
value with that 8-1 ML price. (1) JEANNIES ACTION secured a two hole trip last week and was easily 2
nd best behind the clear cut winner – looking at another good trip tonight...and probably another good piece. (4) GILLYS
DE VIE shows several Pocono tries that would make him a good fit here – look for a contending try in his YR
debut. (8) ENERGY KING has hit board in 6 of his last 7 starts but also benefited from easy trips, from inside posts
– may have a tougher time tonight trying to negotiate a trip from out here. (2) WISTERIA HANOVER was a big
price in all 3 starts since returning from the layoff but managed to hit board all 3 times – remains playable
underneath. (3) HIPPIE SHAKE is 25-0-1-4 lifetime and 11-0-0-1 here at Yonkers – she does get some post relief,
and we’ll see if that’s enough to at least put her in play for a minor share. (6) ALEXANDER picked up a 3rd last
week but it was a dull one, well behind the winner – may need a better draw to have a real say. (7) JAKEY JUMPUP
may not be good enough right now to overcome the terrible draw.
RACE 8 – (5) TUFFENUFTOWEARPINK won at this level off the claim 4 starts back then was caught in the back
of the back for a couple of starts vs. the 50s – dropped back down to 40s for his last and was right there late behind a
couple of sharp wins – this field may be to his liking. (1) MAXIMUS RED A was a 36-1 winner from Post 8 4 back
but was unable to replicate that mile in his last 3 starts – as noted, his barn is on a major tear right now, so we’ll look
for this guy to bring his best tonight...and be a serious threat. (3) BILL HALEY N usually “figures”, often gets very
well backed BUT he does come up light in the win column every year – legitimate chance for sure, but not one to
take too short a price with. (2) CENTURY ENDEAVOR just missed 2 and 3 back but landed on a perfect trip last
week and was able to get his picture taken – sharp enough for a chance at another, if things go his way again. (6)
OZONE BLUE CHIP is racing “ok”, but he’s been lacking that winning edge that has helped him win 23 races here
(over the last 3 years) – smaller piece only right now. (7) ITALIAN LAD N has done a good job holding his form
and outracing his odds most weeks – he also draws yet another poor post, and that figures to limit him once more.
(4) MACH N CHEESE just seems to need easier at the moment. (8) MOVIN ON UP is a streaky sort and his last
couple suggest he may be on the down side right now.
RACE 9 – (1) CONTACT ZONE just backed up badly from the pocket in his start here 3 back but it must not have
been a major issue as he was sharp in his next pair at Chester (a 3rd, and a win) – willing to give him a shot in this
fairly blank field...as long as he’s not way overbet. (8) B COOL FOOL has 3 good 2nds from his last 5 starts, and
was just too far back in the other two – that MAY happen again from Post 8 tonight, but there’s also a chance
Bartlett could leave and grab a trip here...worth a look if the price is right. (2) NOWHERE CREEK A takes another
drop, draws inside, and maybe this is a spot for a wake up call – playable in exotics. (4) MIGHTY SANTANA N has
just one win this year but also nine 2nd place finishes – he’s a bit of a question mark as he drops down to 20s after a
sick scratch, but his “typical” effort would give him a chance for a piece. (6) RECORD YEAR should appreciate
moving from 25s down to 20s but he draws poorly and it’s possible that he’s just tailing right now (after the recent
claim) – mixed feelings. Both (3) OSTRO HANOVER and (5) GINGER TREE PETE are classy veterans that just
aren’t clicking at all right now – waiting for better signs. (7) WAR DAN DELIGHT finally showed some life last
week but unfortunately, gets a very tough post for tonight.
RACE 10 – (4) BEANTOWN BABE had a tough trip on 10.30 upon arrival from Tioga – she was well backed for
her next, and was right there 3rd vs. much tougher 25s – drops in for $20K tonight, and that should put her over the
top. (3) IRIS SEELSTER was a little disappointing in her local debut, though she did find some life late in the mile
– could do better this time, and perhaps add some value to the exotics. (2) PLEASURE SEEKER seems to always be
a good price, and often grabs a good piece – good one for exotics. (7) AINTNOHOLLABACKGRL has had a rough
year, but went her best mile in ages last start – good bomb to include underneath. (1) MODERNA HANOVER failed
to impress in a pair of local starts but maybe she can just tow along for a minor share from the pole. (5) DANDYS
SHOWTIME is 1 for 26 this year, and that’s why it was no great shock to see her tire in the lane last week after an
easy pocket trip – needs to be better for a chance at a piece here. (8) BROOKDALE JESSIE does grab small pieces
at times, but it would be asking a lot for her to do that from out here. (6) JILLIAN JIGGS figures to be handled
conservatively after getting parked the mile last start.
