RACE 1 - Wide open opener: (2) IVY STUD started off his career in NJ with an ok qualifier, followed by a
nice rallying 4th in his career debut - meets no killers for his YR debut, and just may be able to upset these
- if he has no issues navigating the half miler. (3) MASK ON MASK OFF took a few months off after
making a handful of starts as a 2YO, then jogged in his 3YO debut (at Chester) - was scratched here on Jan.
11, however, and has missed nearly a month since that victory - perhaps the tote board will offer some
clues? (6) COUNTER OFFER paced home steadily for 3rd in his local debut and definitely fits well here -
will need some trip luck to overcome the outside draw, however. (7) GETYOURLICENSELIAM was on a
tear up in Canada before changing hands and requalifying upstate, two months later - hard to gauge off
those 2 preps but he lands in a sharp barn, adds Lasix, and would be no surprise at all. (5) JET ACE only
drew well once in 4 local starts and came up 2nd best to a stickout - he's a logical player here, but also
figures to be overbet. (1) PINEBUSH LIFESAVER drops back down to NW2, draws inside, and definitely
has a chance to tow along for a minor share (4) HUMBOLDT HANOVER has raced ok here a couple of
times - maybe a small piece? (8) ZOES LUCKY GUY doesn't figure to be able to get into the mix here.
RACE 2 - (1) HIGH ST CORRIDOR added Lasix last week and came up a strong 2nd best to IMOUTTHE
DOOR - his price will not be nearly as juicy this time, but perhaps he'll be able to turn the tables on that
rival this week. (5) IMOUTTHEDOOR cut the mile and beat the top choice on 1/11, then was a sharp
winner again last week - he's now taken three straight here at Yonkers and remains the one to beat...but
there may be some value taking a shot against him in this tougher field. (3) ARTS ATTITUDE used an easy
trip to pick up a solid rallying 2nd in his local debut - draws well again, and a good trip puts him right in
the hunt once more. (6) BEEBEETEE has been idle since 12/26 but he did put in a few good starts here
about 3 months ago, and he debuts tonight for a barn that's been hot for a very long time - decent bomb to
at least consider. (2) OHARE HANOVER raced well in both local tries at juicy prices - still figures to be a
square price tonight, and is a good one to include underneath in exotics. (7) BRAZEN BRAZILIAN is
probably too far out to do any damage here but he's never a bad bomb to throw in for 3rd/4th. (8) INITIAL
CONCEPT wasn't terrible in his local debut but he lands another 8 hole, and will likely have to wait for a
better spot. (4) SILENT SPLENDOR folded badly in his first local try - wait for better signs.
RACE 3 - (1) EAST BEACH's only start here last year was from Post 8 in a $100K claimer so we;ll just
excuse that - he was a mega-blowout winner at Fhd. 2 back and while he didn;t fire his best shot at The
Swamp last week, we'll look for him to show up with his A Game tonight. (4) THE BOOK OF LIFE was
handled very conservatively in his first start of the year but looked very good finishing for 3rd - he can
build off that mile, and be part of the equation tonight. (2) TOM ME GUN N ended last year with a 2nd,
then started 2022 with another - could get a nice trip here, and that would put him in line for another good
piece. (5) HUNDIE N took no $$ last week and was content to race from the back - he's capable of better,
and we may see it tonight with the class drop, and post relief. (3) THE WILD CARD would be a dangerous
player at this level if on his game. but the 5YO does seem a bit off form lately - just feels like there's better
value to be had with others. (6) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N drew 8 holes vs. better in his last pair and gets
a pass for those lines - eligible to take a shot at leaving tonight, and that would give him a chance to grab a
piece, at a nice price. (8) PICARD A ended 2021 with a win at the basement level then handled a NW7500
field in his 2022 return - not sure he can replicate those efforts against these, from Post 8. (7) CLAYTONS
BETTOR N seems a little too cheap to do any real damage from out here.
RACE 4 - Tough race: (2) RHODENA ROAD won 4 straight to start his local career before ending the
year with a 2nd place finish - was trapped with no chance in his 2022 return, so we'll give him a shot to
rebound tonight with a better trip. (4) BET ON BLAKE also faced traffic issues in his first local start of the
year - gone too many sharp miles here to not get at least a look. (3) SETH HANOVER is 6-3-1-1 since
joining his current barn, gets post relief for tonight, and looms a very dangerous player. (5)
LAUGHAGAIN HANOV ER hit board in 3 of his last 4 with a 10 hole in the other - a live trip could put
him right in the mix tonight. (6) COALITION HANOVER debuts for the Super Siblings and qualified in
typical Bongiorno Blowout fashion at Fhd. - tough spot, but can never count these connections out. (7)
DANCE IT OUT drew Post 8 in his last couple and finished well both times - doesn't get much post help
tonight, and may be too far back to do any significant late damage. (1) SEE YA WRITE N bled in his U.S.
debut at Chester - added Lasix for his first YR start, but was unable to sustain his bid - not writing him off
by any means, but sticking with others for tonight. (8) PERFECTBOY HANOVER finished poorly after
brushing to the lead last week, and will now have to contend with Post 8.
RACE 5 - (1) FIZZING N had a useful tightener after missing a month and now gets the potent
combination of post and class relief - figures to get an aggressive try from this spot, and may be able to
make it pay off. (6) AIR FORCE HANOVER crawled around the track on the lead last week but that :27.1
final quarter was certainly eye catching - license to step up and take another, although this is definitely a
tougher spot. (2) GINGRAS BEACH hurt his chances a bit by not leaving last week, but still should have
been able to rally in the stretch for the win - steps up one notch, but this field is still within his comfort zone
- possibility. (4) LIKE CLOCKWORK was a very game winner last week (over #2) and definitely can
handle the class jump - another potential player in a pretty competitive affair. (7) UNCLE JORD A had
pace finishing vs. better in his last pair and gets class relief for tonight....he also gets stuck with Post 7, and
will probably need a bit of trip luck to be able to get it done from out here. (5) HEAVENS GAIT should
benefit from last week's 2nd behind #6 (off a bad date, trying to chase home a :27.1 kicker) - wouldn't be a
shock, but still leaning to others for tonight. (3) HES ELECTRIC picked up a rare YR win 2 back but it was
by a nose, at the bottom level - no chance in last (gets a pass), but still needs to prove he can hang with
these. (8) BETTER UP might have a chance to contend with these from an inside post, but figures to
struggle from out here.
RACE 6 - (4) IM A GIGOLO N was purchased after last week's 2nd place finish in NJ - he was grabbing
pieces with much better not long ago, and won 2 of 9 starts here last year - the biggest knock is that 3/2 ML
price, which will likely eliminate any possible betting value. (6) MARTY MONKHOUSER A was short in
his 2022 return but he'll be facing softer tonight, and figures to be sharper the 2nd time around - comes off
the best year of his career, and we'll see if he can replicate that this season. (8) CAPOZZO draws Post 8 for
the second straight week, and that will likely lead to another conservative steer - may still be good enough
to beat a bunch of these, though. (2) SECRECY had a little better life finishing last week - not a bad bomb
for 3rd/4th. (5) BETTING EXCHANGE is notoriously camera shy, but may be able to squeeze out a piece
in this field. (1) MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING picked up his first local win in ages last week - we'll see if he
gained enough confidence to land a share in this better field (the rail may help his cause). (7) REAL
LUCKY N had 2 tough spots but has also looked pretty dismal so far this year - in need of a major wake up
call. (3) FOUR STAR FLASH just hasn't been finishing his miles well enough.
RACE 7 - (1) KNOCKING AROUND is hard to "love" (he was 1 for 32 last year), but he was close
several times vs. better last fall, will be much closer to the action tonight, and his barn is off to a decent
start so far in 2022 - gets the narrow edge in a shaky field. (6) MCSPIDEY was an ok 4th off the qualifier
last week, in a race that came home in a sizzling :27.1 - definitely fits with these, and it'll all come down to
what kind of trip Stratton can find him from Post 6. (3) SHINY BLACK BEAMER has been way off form
for several starts but would be a major threat if he shows up even close to his best - hard to take a short
price HOPING for a wake up call. (2) ST LADS BEAT IT won 7X last year (up North), and catches a
pretty suspect field for his local debut - would hardly be a shock. (5) SEEUINNASHVILLE A is another
fresh pickup for a trainer that in a recent interview, said that he'd be retiring! Looks like he'll be sticking
around for a while longer, and we'll see if he can elevate this guy enough to be a player here. (8) CALVIN
K burned money as the favorite in both local starts - barn is ice cold and he draws Post 8, but maybe he'll
race better just sitting back and rallying late? (4) ASTON HILL DAVE was just 1 for 34 last year, and hard
to recommend tonight. (7) WHATA TREASURE will get a look when he draws better.
RACE 8 - (2) SHADOW CAT drops, moves inside, and has enjoyed success from spots like this in the past
- look for an aggressive try...which would stamp him as the one to beat (4) ROCKTHON is double jumping
off last week's easy front end score but he may be able to leave hard and work out an easy trip...and that
would give him a chance for a piece, even against these tougher ones. (8) IM SIR BLAKE A is pretty good
right now, and did leave from Post 7 3 starts back - at 20-1 ML, he's a good one to include in exotics. (6)
DEAN B HANOVER ended the year with a pair of wins, then started off 2022 with a solid 3rd, off a first
over trip -has to contend with an outside draw tonight, but a live trip could see him rallying late for a share.
(5) EPIC ACE continues to thrive, even at these higher levels - he's always a good price, and remains a
good one to include in exotics. (3) MICKY GEE N was frozen on a line last week, making it hard for Zeron
to even drive him - it's probably a good sign that he drops right back in the box, and you just know the
classy 9YO will perk up and win one of these weeks....just no value looking for that to happen tonight. (7)
SHANWAY N draws his first bad post since arriving in the U.S. and that may render him a spectator for
this week. (1) WHOS BETTER probably wants to be in a bit easier - he could easily outperform this rating,
but still seems below several of the top ones.
RACE 9 - (2) GREENHILL HANOVER steps up off a dominant win over cheaper, but she's held her own
against better types here as well - normally low % barn has come to life on both sides of the river recently,
and anything they send out deserves an extra look . (6) COWGIRL LILLY has been rock solid for weeks
(months?), and has been using quick starts beautifully in all her recent tries - major player. (4) THUNDRA
beat cheaper in her 2nd start off the barn change - was off almost 6 weeks to her last, and only lost by a
couple of lengths (despite moving up in class) - definitely an attractive play at that 12-1 ML price. (1)
POPPY DRAYTON N moves all the way inside and that may produce a better trip...and possibly a better
result - use underneath. (7) APRIL AVA has been burning $$ start after start, and now draws poorly -
willing to use underneath. (5) MILLWOOD BONNIE N picks up pieces week after week, but hasn't won in
some time - another to consider underneath only. (8) BALFAST N was a game winner in back to back starts
but moves from the rail to Post 8, and will need a lot to go her way to be in contention as they turn for
home. (3) SHECANDANCE N has been away since 12/21 (sick scratch) - sticking with others.
RACE 10 - (4) TELL THEM LOU was our selection last week and he ALMOST pulled it off at 26-1 - the
price will certainly come way down tonight, but he's in a good spot to get the job done this time. (2) CRUN
CH HANOVER came up a little short last week but he's capable of better than that - maybe he can work
out a good trip, and stick around to the end. (5) ULTIMAROCA folded badly in his first start of 2022 but
rebounded last week to hang on for a win DH - remains a legitimate threat. (1) SAULSBROOK HERO
landed on a very live trip and was able to charge on by for the win, despite missing a month - he steps up in
class now, and we'll see if he can maintain that good form against these too. (7) CAPTAIN FANCY has
been solid every week since adding Lasix 5 starts back, but may have too far to come tonight - minor piece
only. (6) FEELIN WESTERN was too far back to do any damage last week after beating cheaper the week
before - may be hurt by another bad post tonight. (3) L DEES JACK LOPEZ was surprisingly dull on 1/11
then scratched sick the next week - we may not see his best effort tonight.
RACE 11 - (4) OUR CORELLI N has been pretty camera shy here at Yonkers but he's been holding his
own with better lately, and debuts tonight for the Dymanic Duo off the $50K claim - look for a big effort
from him...but don't fall in love if he ends up overbet. (2) MACH LE MORE A finished crisply in his YR
debut and now moves in from Post 7 - barn has been ice cold for some time, but maybe this guy will help
break that slump. (1) THE DOWNTOWN BUS is winless in his last 14 local starts but he did rally stoutly
for 2nd last week, and lands the pole for tonight - could be a legitimate threat. (3) PEPPER GUY figured to
be in a good spot last week and an aggressive steer from Bartlett produced the blowout, wake up call
victory - doesn't figure to catch THIS bunch by surprise, though, and may end up with a little smaller piece
this week. (6) MARCO BEACH finished alertly in each of his last 2 starts and may be coming around for a
sharp barn - not sure he can reach from this spot, but definitely ok to include underneath. (7) PARMESAN
N was an "ok" 3rd vs. better last week - would have been listed higher up tonight if not for the outside
draw. (5) ORILLIA JOE couldn't hang on vs. cheaper last week, and these may be a little tougher than he'd
like to be facing right now. (8) TITANIUM N almost won off the claim last start, but that was a crazy, :fall
apart" race - hard to recommend from this spot, even though his barn has been on fire.
RACE 12 - (3) DENALI SEELSTER was racing off a bad date from Post 7 after shipping in from the
Maritimes but was certainly ready for his Hilltop debut, charging home from the top of the lane to be right
there 3rd - gets the nod in tonight's finale. (4) SOHO WALLSTREET A rallied steadily for 3rd for his new
barn last week, and a similar effort would put him right there tonight - he does have a low local win %,
though, so insist on a decent price if using him on top. (5) TIGER BARON did well to hold 3rd last week
into the blistering :27.1 final quarter (after coming first over) - he's good enough to beat these if he shows
up on his best game tonight. (1) ABERDEEN HANOVER grabbed small pieces in his last couple and the
rail draw at least gives him a chance to do the same tonight. (2) POCKET WATCH N raced much better
than expected last week - goes from the 8 hole to Post 2, and may be able to take home another small piece.
(6) HOLOU has been pretty ordinary overall lately, although he did grab a 2nd (with cheaper) in NJ last
week - prefer to just observe in his first local try. (7) BILBO HANOVER was no good at all last week, and
now draws Post 7 - will just watch, for now. (8) DENVER SEELSTER came up empty last week off a bad
date (sick scratch) - will wait for a better draw before considering him.
