RACE 1 - TASTE OF HISTORY was scratched on 5/14 from his 2nd start after the claim then went on the
shelf for 3 months - his qualifier looks better than most of these have been doing in their RACES, and that
makes him worth a play tonight, off the layoff. (3) JUST WAVE GOODBYE raced "ok" for 2 starts against
20s, and now plummets to 12.5s (below the level of the recent claim) looking to pick up a win - definitely a
chance to do so against these! (6) MACHING TIME had no chance in his 1st start off the claim (8 hole) -
gets a little bit of post relief, and we'll see if it's enough to make him a contender. (4) MR DS DRAGON
shows some mixed form recently in PA - does have the speed to leave in here, and that could at least put
him into contention. (7) DEERFIELD BEACH has been known to just reverse form on a dime - seems like
an impossible spot, but not a bad one for fans of big longshots. (4) CARTERS CAPER showed speed last
week before fading - maybe that'll tighten him up enough to rally for a minor share tonight? (8) BOLT OF
LUCK may improve for his new connections, but probably needs a much better post before he can do that.
(2) ARI ALLSTAR had a good run here last year, but hasn't been on his game in a long time.
RACE 2 - (5) ALL CHAMPY shipped in sharp and chased the razor sharp Madhatter Bluechip stride for
stride in last week's hot 1:54 mile - he's "moving up " in class here, but this field has very few "legitimate"
NW15000 performers - solid chance in his current form. (8) GOTWUTVERITTAKES was terrific two
back, winning upon arrival from NJ despite a tough trip - last week's trip was just too brutal to overcome,
but he still raced very well in a good field - may have been the top choice with a better draw, but he still
may be able to get it done from out here. (4) GREY has a couple of 3rd with Zeron on board as the pair get
along well - good one to include in exotics. (3) LIFETIME ROYALTY had to re-qualify after a pair of
miscues - if he stays trotting tonight, he's eligible to grab a piece of this. (6) LIMERENCE gets a class
drop, but this is still a tough spot for him - willing to include underneath, though. (2) ZAGSTER is in good
form, but really needs to be in easier for a realistic chance - maybe the good draw can help him pick up a
minor share. (1) FOMOR found a cheaper field he could outlast 2 back but reverted quickly to his lesser
form in last - still prefer others, even with his good draw. (7) SHOWMEYOURGUNS figures to be coming
from too far back to have any real impact.
RACE 3 - (4) GYPSY LEATHER has raced for 3 different barns in his last 3 starts and has a win and two
2nds - goes for a 4th new barn tonight, and definitely has a chance at the mils upset in his current form. (1)
ROCK N BLUE got brave on the lead dropping to this level last week and was a sharp winner - he'll be
heavily favored to repeat from the pole tonight but he has a tendency to get too hot after leaving for a few
straight weeks, and maybe that'll happen to him tonight - not the type of odds-on favorite to unload on. (3)
THEREISAPACEFORUS seemed overbet last week but landed on a beautiful trip and grabbed his 2nd win
from his last 3 starts - was re-claimed from his last, and has to be respected tonight...although he'll have to
get it done with Cory, rather than Jordan. (6) BUSH MAN N just outran 'em on the lead 2 back to pick up
his first win in a LONG time - raced well again in last (from an impossible spot), and is definitely sharp
enough right now to be included in exotics. (2) OFFICIAL DELIGHT figures to be sitting an up close trip
tonight but he exits a high % barn, and it's hard to say if his form will hold for his new connections. (8)
THUNDER SOME WHERE is a solid fit in this class but generally needs easy inside trips to do any real
damage. (5) IDEAL SON appears to have regressed since being claimed on 7/23 - will wait for some better
signs before endorsing again. (7) THESPYWHOLOVEDME ships in with poor form, and draws outside.
RACE 4 - (1) WESTERN REDHOT was very hard to steer when 2nd here on 7/30 - has looked better in
his last pair (since being claimed), and is razor sharp at the moment - good spot for him to pick up a long
overdue victory. (2) DISMISSAL SLIP jogged vs. cheaper at The Swamp for his new barn on 8/6, then
went a big mile for 3rd here last week - legit threat, and should even be a decent price. (3) PLAY THE
FIELD was used very hard last week and still held very gamely to 2nd - he does excellent work for this
barn, and figures to be part of the equation once again. (5) ROUGH ODDS saw his 5 race win streak ended
when 2nd three starts back - was 2nd again in his next, but threw a clunker in his last and now drops down
to 30s - seems the barn has lost some its golden touch lately, and this may not be a bad spot to take a shot
against this guy. (4) TODDLER TANTRUM could really use a class drop - best hope here is to save ground
and hope to pick up a minor share. (6) ITSGOODTOBEDAKING showed little in either local try and will
need to improve if he hopes to be any kind of player. (8) RUTHLESS DUDE looked uncomfortable all the
way last week for his new barn - would be willing to forgive, but tonight's draw will likely limit his chances
significantly. (7) I GET THAT was scratched off the claim and now draws poorly after missing 3 weeks -
will just observe for now.
RACE 5 - (6) THE VETERAN was away for 5 months then returned for a new barn in June, and has been
doing some pretty good work - he's always liked racing here at Yonkers, and should offer a square price
from this spot - hopefully Brennan can hustle him away to a good trip. (1) HILLEXOTIC crushed a NW5
field in PA then handily defeated a NW6 crew here at YR - steps up to face older rivals now, but he already
did that in the Graduate, and has plenty of class....the one to beat, but will also be a pretty short price. (2)
TAD KRAZY HANOVER tends to be a bit inconsistent, but she throws some big miles when in the right
mood - looking at a decent trip from this spot, and worth including in exotics. (8) SPOILED PRINCESS
was a winner the last time she was down at this level, but gets stuck with the worst post and has a few good
foes to her inside - probably looking at a smaller piece this week. (3) HALO ITS ME has been steady for
some time, but does seem a notch below the main players here - minor share only. (5) MUFASAS AS
would prefer to be in a little easier, but he's good enough for a chance at a small piece IF the trip goes his
way. (4) FREDDIE MAC seems considerably overmatched - wait for an easier spot. (7) WINDSONG
PIONEER does his best on the lead vs. easier - pass for now.
RACE 6 - (3) TERRITORY was claimed for $15K right before this new class was rolled out...and the
timing couldn't have been better, as he's won three straight, and banked $45K....solid chance that after
tonight it'll be 4 straight, and $60K. (5) MY WISH CAME TRUE was used hard in his first local start then
tired after getting outbrushed to 3/4s - had an easy trip last time, and was a very solid 3rd...definitely on to
use underneath. (1) WELL DONE SON had a string of sharp efforts but has tailed considerably in his last
few - we'll see if the good draw helps get him back on track. (2) FOLLOW YOUR HEART took advantage
of an inside easy trip to pick up 3rd last start - the good draw will give him a chance to do the same tonight.
(6) SAILBOAT HANOVER reverted to bad habits last week, making another costly miscue - just a tough
horse to have confidence in right now. (8) REPEAL OR REPLACE tends to be pretty inconsistent, and his
last two starts are a perfect example of that - seems like a pretty unlikely spot here, but he will be a big
price if you think he might throw one of his better efforts tonight. (7) AQUAMAN HANOVER was a
decent 2nd two back, but dullish on the cones in last - hard to see him doing much damage from out here.
(4) MR DS ROCK offered little in two tries at this level.
RACE 7 - (2) CHAMPAGNE ON ICE, like the majority of her barnmates, has elevated her game to new
levels recently - she sprouted wings to win from a nearly impossible spot 2 back, then was right there
behind a VERY nice winner last week in her first try in the Open - might be good enough right now to get
her picture taken tonight...even in this top class. (3) MELADYS MONET drew Post 8 last week and saw
his 3 race win streak snapped as a result - gets major post relief tonight, and the ultra-classy 12YO is the
one to beat. (5) NEW HEAVEN has been enjoying a lengthy form spree that has carried him back up to the
Open - with the right trip, he may be able to pick up a decent piece. (4) FASHION CREDITOR picked up
his first local win in a long time 3 back, then followed that up with another victory the next week - trotted
evenly for 3rd in last week's Open, and has a chance for another decent slice tonight. (7) CHAPTIAMA has
more than enough ability to trot with these, but another bad post may leave him too far back when they turn
for home. (1) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN is having another strong season, though his better work comes
vs. a bit easier - likely looking at only a minor piece. (6) MAGICAL JOURNEY re-qualified after missing
a month and is likely to need a start.
RACE 8 - (3) ON THE VIRG clearly hasn't been sharp, but he hits the bottom level tonight in what feels
like a "now or never" spot - hard to imagine him not finding a way to beat these, although he's not one to be
betting the mortgage money on right now. (1) ZACH MAGUIRE N has been having a tough season
(17-0-0-4) but he's racing "ok" lately, and should be able to pick up a good piece from this spot. (8)
CLIFFHANGER was in a no prayer spot last week in his first try for a new barn - draws even worse
tonight, but this is a softer spot, and he MAY take a shot at being a little more aggressive - decent bomb to
throw in exotics. (2) KERRIN JOSEPH A has a couple of decent tries recently vs. cheaper in PA - might be
able to grab a piece here with an easy trip. (4) LETSNDNITETOGETA N missed several months and has
been struggling to find his form since returning - wouldn't be shocked to see him race better tonight, but
that 2-1 ML price is pretty ridiculous. (5) MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING is 0 for 25 here over the last 2 years,
but capable of picking up a minor share with an easy enough trip. Both (6) ELRAMA N and (7)
CINNABAR DRAGON might be ok from the inside, but figure to have a hard time getting involved with
the outside draws.
RACE 9 - (3) ROCK OF CASHEL is rock solid at this level, draws well, and has a big chance to pick up
his first local victory of the year tonight. (4) THE LAST CHAPTER hasn't been on his game for several
starts but did finish with encouraging trot (from an impossible spot) in last - Bongiorno will probably give
him an aggressive drive here...we'll see if he's up for it. (5) CASINO CUTIE IT generally prefers to be in a
bit cheaper but she used a live trip to pick up 2nd last week, and may land on a similarly live journey
tonight - ok to include in exotics. (6) PAPPY GO GO jogged in his last pair at Chester (vs. cheaper) and
also won a "Race Under Saddle" after that - has a mixed local history, but he's certainly ok to consider for
exotics at that 15-1 ML price. (1) KANDY SWEET made an uncharacteristic miscue last week but
assuming he stays trotting here, he may be able to use his speed to land somewhere on the ticket. (7)
DRAZZMATAZZ is pretty good right now but broke leaving in his last and now draws Post 7 - leaning
towards others. (2) MY BOY CHRISTIAN found a field he could beat last week, but this bunch is much
tougher - wait for an easier spot. (8) BLUFFINER seems to have fallen well off his stellar form and also
lands Post 8 - pass for tonight.
RACE 10 - Tough race: (4) ROCKATHON benefited from the way the race played out last week but that
doesn't mean that HE wasn't good - he has a bit of back class, so we'll see if he can build off that effort and
take another. (3) HUDSEN A retains a catch driver this week and that gives him a chance to be part of the
equation - certainly worth considering for exactas at what figures to be a decent price. (6) ATTA BOY
DAN was an even 4th on an off track in his last Yonkers and we'll give him a pass for that last Chester
disaster- the classy millionaire has lost a few steps, but is still capable of being a threat with these. (1)
TOWNLINE ALL GOOD is the "x factor" here - easy to excuse his first 2 starts of the $50K claim (8
holes), but his last (dropping, and sitting a pocket) was no good either - will another class drop wake him
back up? (7) SECRECY benefited from the ground saving trip last week but also flashed good pace once
free in the stretch - could add some value to the exotics if he finds some more trip luck tonight, (3)
VANQUISHED shows a bunch of even efforts for smaller pieces...and may provide the same type of result
tonight. (5) ZIGGY SKY has been "consistent" lately...unfortunately finishing 7th in 4 straight starts - hard
to endorse right now. (8) SEEUINNASHVILLE A lands yet another awful post-- waiting for a better spot.
RACE 11 - (3) EYE OFA TIGER AS seems to have put his breaking problems behind him, and is putting
together a pretty good 2021 season - gets class relief tonight, and that will give him a good chance to pick
up his 6th win of the season. (7) NO MAS DRAMA landed on a tough trip in her first foray into the Open
and couldn't overcome it - drops a peg, and may be able to leave well enough to set herself up with a good
trip tonight....decent value horse to consider for your tickets. (1) BARRY BLACK generally grabs his wins
vs. a little softer, but he's more than capable of landing a good piece in this class, especially from the rail.
(6) HILL OFA HORSE hasn't been on his best game but he really thrives at this level, and usually doesn't
go too many starts without rebounding - include in exotics. (2) NEXTROUNDSONME shipped in sharp
from PcD and rallied from well back to beat a NW15000 field here on 8/6 - no factor earlier this week over
the Pocono slop, but he draws well returning to YR and we'll see if he can step up and race well at this level
too. (4) KINDA LUCKY LINDY and (5) TOP FLIGHT ANGEL traded victories with each other the last 2
starts, are both very sharp, but also seem to be a notch below the top contenders in here. (8) AFTER ALL
PAUL is very sharp for a hot barn but the outside draw figures to leave him too far back to be a threat.
RACE 12 - (3) TELLITSABB was an excellent 2nd in his YR return (behind a razor sharp winner), then
jogged in his next - faces a much tougher field tonight, but he's also used to facing much better himself -
chance to pull off the mild upset in the finale. (5) SPRINGSTEEN reversed form immediately upon joining
this terrific training tandem, but that came as a surprise to nobody - he'll be heavily favored to make it 2 in
a row but as talented as he is, he's never been the most reliable performer -- maybe he's a bit vulnerable this
week? (7) HEAVENS GAIT went a strong mile last week but had the misfortune of running into a winner
that's improved by about 15 lengths in his last 2 starts (after joining the hottest barn on the planet) - can
make some noise again tonight, even from Post 7. (2) PATRIOT NATION was much better last week, and
perhaps is ready to continue improving - one to include on the bottom of exotics. (4) SADIQ HANOVER
was a good looking winner in his Hilltop debut - he'll face tougher now, and we'll see if he can hang with
these too. (8) AMERICAN WIGGLE was no match for #5 last week, 2nd best but weakening in the lane -
goes from rail to 8 hole, and that may be too much for him to overcome. (1) ALEPPO HANOVER has been
"ok" lately but while he's technically dropping tonight, this is actually a pretty tough field - seems a bit
overmatched. (6) TULLOW N figures to be too far back to really threaten.
