RACE 1 - (4) DIVINE DEO shows some big moves up in Canada, and already has 5 wins (fits the class
under the lifetime money cap) - moves to a barn that generally improves these considerably, and is hard to
go past in tonight's opener. (3) YOUR MOMMA was solid here this summer (4-0-1-3), and continued to
race very well during a short sting in Michigan - has missed some time, but still likely has a good chance to
land somewhere on the ticket. (8) BEACHBLANKETLINDY has the speed to at least improve a bit at the
start, and while she never wins, she does hit board pretty often (27-1-10-9) -- maybe can add some value to
the exotics? (1) TIME TO IMAGINE rallied well from far back in her local debut but ended up parked the
next start after trying to leave from Post 7 - move inside puts her in play for a piece here. (2) ROLL WITH
SHORTY usually races well with these but she's just 1 for 25, and just one of several with a chance for a
small piece. (7) JK A E ONE wasn't bad in her PcD debut for new connections, but lands a rough spot for
her local debut, and is just 1 for 33 lifetime. (5) NEVER NOT DANCING was grabbing pieces out of town
but her most recent form is lacking - needs to pick up her game again. (6) SWELLOOKINBEACH is
8-0-0-0 locally, and hard to recommend.
RACE 2 - (5) DC ANNA was a sharp 2nd in this class in her first local try - she's had several excuses since
then (bad posts, a break, a bad shuffle, etc.), all vs. better - should be able to have a big say against these
tonight. (6) TONY SOPRANO gets a class drop tonight but maybe even more importantly, switches from
his owner/trainer in the bike to Holland...very legitimate chance here. (3) CREWS HILL TOPPER was 3rd
vs. better here back in August, and a good 2nd vs. better at Pocono 3 starts down - another major threat
with the class drop, and good draw. (7) EVA DAIRPET FR was last seen here facing a NW17000 field
(6/25), but her last couple in Indiana have been less than stellar - goes for a new barn now, is 2nd time
Lasix, and has to be respected, despite the bad date and tough post. (2) TORREY PINES tired in his first
try for a new barn, and catches a very tough NW5000 field - keep an eye for future consideration. (4) P C
FOREIGN AFFAIR really needs to be in a much easier division to have a chance at a decent piece - may be
able to beat a few others for a minor share. (1) BIG BILL BREEZE should be able to get away okay from
the rail, but he does seem quite a bit below the main players. (8) LINCOLN TUNNEL looked better in his
last couple but lands Post 8 tonight and doesn't figure to be able to reach from out here.
RACE 3 - (3) BARON MICHAEL raced big for these connections 2 starts back then was reclaimed after
racing for another barn last week - this crew has been doing major damage at Yonkers lately, and may be
shipping in another winner tonight. (1) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN couldn't make it last cutting the mile vs.
30s but drops to 25s tonight and may be able to get it done - had to get excited about a play with that 9/5
ML price, though. (6) BEVANS CULLEN N went an eternity without winning a race before obliterating a
field of 20s two starts back - enjoyed it so much he came back to win his next start, but now tries his luck in
25s, racing for a new barn....will likely have to do it from the back this week, so we'll see if he can be as
effective. (5) JIMS PERFECT TEN was quickly reclaimed by his previous connections last week - raced
"ok" in 2 local tries, and would probably need things to fall apart here to come out on top. (8) ITSGOODT
OBEDAKING was sent off at 3/5 last week riding a 3 race win streak, was about to hit the lead but made a
very costly miscue - lands Post 8 tonight for a new barn, and he'll be a MUCH bigger price if you think he
can redeem himself from out here. (2) VERGEOFGREATNESS N saved ground all the way last week then
flew home after finally maneuvering free, almost scoring the upset for his new trainer - seems a little cheap
for these, but his new barn definitely started it's Yonkers career off on the right foot. (7) CASINO BAGS
ANSO was a mediocre $10K claimer out of town so it was a bit of surprise to see him crush the local 15s -
not as successful moving up to 25s last week, and the poor draw figures to hurt his chances tonight. (4)
CONVERT DENARIO N just seems a bit cheap for these, upon arrival from PA.
RACE 4 - Tough race: (3) LOUD SPLASH never got involved from outside posts in his last 3 at PcD but
was on a good roll before that - was just claimed by a barn that has started to win races again here at YR,
and perhaps a change of scenery (and good draw) will see him revert to that better form. (1) CINNABAR
DRAGON just perked up out of the blue with a blowout win vs. 12.5s two back, the stepped up to beat the
15s last week - takes an ambitious jump to 25s after the re-reclaim, and we'll see if he's sharp enough right
now to pull it off. (5) CLASS SIX has been in good form lately and goes for a new barn tonight (owner is
usually associated with trotters, but has been claiming pacers with this trainer recently) - has to get a look in
here. (4) DERECHO won 3 in a row here after shipping in from Ohio but that was vs. 12.5s and 15s -
connections gambled on taking him for $25K last start, and we'll see if that pays off for them. (2) KEPT
UNDER WRAPS hadn't been all that sharp but perked up in a big way with last week's "pocket rocket"
victory - bumps up a notch for his new barn, draws inside, and we'll see if that good form from last week
carries over. (6) CHARLIES DRAGON disappointed a bit vs. NW4 in his YR debut - opts to race against
older claimers here, and he'll need to be sharper to have a chance to be a serious threat. (8) HAPPY TRIO
really hasn't been bad, but lands in yet another terrible spot for tonight - waiting for a better scenario. (7)
CAVIART STETSON is struggling, and draws outside - prefer others.
RACE 5 - (6) THEBEACHISCALLING shipped in and effortlessly demolished a NW4 field by nearly 10
lengths....which was no surprise, considering she's banked $379K at 2 and 3 -- steps up a notch, but should
be able to handle these as well. (2) HEAVENISSOFARAWAY landed on a good trip for her local debut but
was still very sharp in victory - should race very well again, although she may not be in the league of the
top one. (1) BABS JANSEN finished steadily from an impossible spot in her YR debut - moves all the way
inside tonight, and that gives her a good chance to grab a nice chunk of this. (4) EXTRILLA HANOVER
came up 2nd best to a nice filly in her first Yonkers start - should fit nicely here, and can definitely be part
of the equation. (7) TENTHOUSAND ANGELS got a rare unaggressive steer from Bongiorno last week
and lost all chance after getting trapped inside behind a quitter (but still finished well) - more than enough
ability to go with these, but the draw may cause some problems this time around. (5) LINE EM UP is
clearly in terrific form, but she'll be facing much tougher tonight and will be getting class tested - we'll
learn more about her, for sure. (3) LET ER BUCK certainly feels like the outsider in this strong field.
RACE 6 - (2) RECORD YEAR has been back on his game for several starts, and seems to do well for
almost any barn (when he's in a good groove) - already has 8 wins on the season, and has a decent chance
to pick up #9 tonight. (3) DARK ENERGY N has been holding his form beautifully against the 30s, but
hasn't been able to break through with a win - goes for a new barn tonight, so perhaps his luck will be a
little better. (1) KASEY JOHN A can be a bit inconsistent but has shown to be a very legitimate $30K
claimer when on his game - draws the pole for a new barn, and does deserve respect. (6) TREASURE
MACH should appreciate the drop to 30s, but a better post would have been appreciated even more - will
need some trip luck from this spot, but not impossible if he gets some. (4) AWESOMENESS has been in
good form for some time, but his only WIN here this year came vs. easier - definitely possible, but leaning
a bit more towards others. (5) LATISSIMUS HANOVER almost wired a softer bunch last week - faces
tougher now, and may be looking at a smaller share. (8) VENIER HANOVER draws Post 8 off a sick
scratch and that's definitely not a winning angle. (7) SPORTSKEEPER hasn't been clicking and draws
outside - waiting for some better signs from him.
RACE 7 - (3) LUCKY MATTER blew up here 3 starts back after making what looked like the winning
move, then broke again last week at PcD....but when he DOES behave, he's a talented trotter for very strong
connections - could be a good value play in this solid $50K claimer. (5) GREY went the mile of her life 5
starts back when she beat the very classy Thankful No, and while not AS sharp in her next few, she did
continue to hold her own at the top levels - probably the one to beat in here but she figures to be overbet,
and the drop in for a claiming tag does seem at least a little suspicious. (4) BLUE AND BOLD had been off
form for quite a while but the 5YO has been back on his best game lately, winning 3 of his last 4 (while
racing big from an impossible spot in the lone loss) - Bartlett's choice (over #6) has a very real chance here.
(6) HOMER HALL can be pretty inconsistent but even if he shows up on his best game, the outside draw
will probably make it tough for him to grab more than a smaller piece. (1) KANDY SWEET should be a bit
better with last week's tightener under her belt - still seems unlikely to threaten the top few, though. (2)
PREACHER MAN has solid overall form, but would seem to be making a big leap to take on these - inside
draw helps, but we'll just watch for now. (7) RESITA was pretty tired at the end last week but was able to
hang on against cheaper - would seem unlikely to get involved vs. these from out here. (8) BLUFFINER
draws Post 8 off a break and that's not exactly a strong betting angle!
RACE 8 - (6) PAIGES GIRL was involved for most of last week's :26.3 opening quarter before battling
hard first over into the very hot 1:23.3 three quarters - really didn't tire badly, and she drops down to the
basement off that strong effort - may finally have found a winning spot. (2) E R HILARY drops back down
to the level of the claim...a level where she excels - the main danger! (3) HIGH ROLLING A continues to
come up short at the end of her miles even in the lower classes - ok for a piece, but hard to use on top right
now. (8) KAITLYN N is winless in 22 starts this year and draws Post 8 - she does actually have a chance to
beat out some of these for a smaller piece, though. (4) WINDSONG PARISIAN gave it a good try on the
lead when 2nd tw0 back, but folded badly trying the same tactics in her last - guessing she'll race from
behind tonight, so maybe she can rally for a small share? (5) CABOWABOCUTTIE is 0 for 19 on the year
and was non functional for several starts before going on the shelf for 3 months - she's only getting a
mention because her trainer does win with some seemingly "hopeless" horses from time to time. (1) MY
CAM GIRL has been struggling for weeks, at multiple tracks - hard to like her right now, even from the
pole. (7) BEAUTY BAYAMA has been no factor for a long time...and draws Post 7!
RACE 9 - (3) SHE KNOWS IT ALL won off the barn change in the OBC Final (in Ohio) - came up 2nd
best to a sharp winner in her first 2 starts here at YR, but just wasn't herself last week, getting steppy early
on and then no threat late after the pocket trip - have to believe her sharp connections will have better for
tonight, with a good chance to make amends for last week's 3/5 loss. (7) DASHINTOTHEBEACH N was a
close 2nd then a close 3rd in her first 2 U.S. starts, but was admittedly a bit of a disappointment each time -
paced evenly after a conservative 8 hole try in last, and MAY take that same conservative approach tonight
- but at 15-1 ML, couldn't blame anybody looking to use her on their tickets. (1) KEYSTONE DELIGHT
finished not far behind the top choice in her last couple, after an easy NW2 win prior to that - will be sitting
close enough to have a chance should #3 falter tonight. (5) CATIE FAYE HANOVER wasn't at her best 2
back but has otherwise been solid in this class - definitely can grab a decent piece here. (4) EARLYBIRD
SPECIAL capitalize on circumstances in a pair of NW2 races (close 2nd then a win), but wasn't quite as
good moving up to this NW4 level - seems a bit below the top ones. (8) SEA OF LOVE BC is an in and out
sort, who also has to deal with Post 8 here - not a bad bomb to throw in for 3rd/4th, if spreading in exotics.
(2) EYE DONT LIE moves inside after 2 outside draws off the layoff - not ready to hop on her team, but
will keep a closer watch on her now. (6) AERIAL VIEW was a nice 2nd in NW2 but a bit disappointing up
to NW4 in last - outside draw makes her hard to endorse tonight.
RACE 10 - (5) BITTY BITTY shipped in from "The Aces" to her new barn. added Lasix, and qualified
right behind barnmate Herrickroosevelt N....who was 2nd to All Hands On Deck in a NW15000 race on
Monday night - certainly seems ready to take on the locals. (4) DOCTOR SUNSHINE has some solid form
in The Maritimes, lands in an outstanding barn, and could easily be a very live threat in her YR debut. (2)
NUTTINBUTTHEBEST shipped in showing 3 straight at PcD and continued her winning ways here at YR,
jogging despite Post 8 - steps up a notch, but has to be taken very seriously. (3) GETTIN GONE has a
couple of wins here this year (for her previous connections) - raced better last week (at PcD) adding Lasix,
and has a license to grab a decent piece tonight....at a decent price. (1) PARTY QUEEN has been unreliable
at best, but her last couple were better, and the rail should put her in the hunt from start to finish - ok piece.
(8) FRENCH SHAKER has been good since joining the Dynamic Duo, but will need some help to do any
major damage from Post 8....not impossible, though. (6) OK LETS ROCKNROLL was actually better than
that last line looks, as she lacked the room to really stretch her legs - good bomb for the bottom of exotics.
(7) CINCO SENORITA seems unlikely to get involved from this spot.
RACE 11 - (3) HUNTING AS had been dealing with endless impossible spots vs. much better so it was no
surprise to see him jog with the class drop last week - steps up one notch, but this field should be within his
comfort zone as well. (1) WINDSONG PIONEER is a different horse on the front end and he showed that
the last couple of starts (3rd here two back, then an easy winner at Chester last week) - would be no
surprise if he was able to wire these too. (4) BIG MONEY HONEY has been getting sharper every start
since returning to Yonkers - moves up a peg after an excellent 2nd last week, and can be a player tonight, as
well. (2) LADY EAGLE found an easy enough field to grab a win 3 back, but hasn't been as sharp in her
last couple - draws well enough for a chance at a piece here. (7) BROWNIE should appreciate the class
drop but will face a tough haul from all the way out here - maybe can rally for a small piece? (8) SEVEN
IRON raced much better at PcD last week, and would have gotten a bigger look here if not for Post 8 - may
have to wait for a better spot before showing his best. (5) PETERS EXPRESS picked up his first ever YR
win last week in his 22nd try - moves up tonight, and will probably struggle against these. (6) TW
LAUXMONT seems overmatched with these.
RACE 12 - (2) SHEIKH YABOOTY N disappointed on the front end off the class drop last week but MAY
have thrown a shoe coming to the half - drops again, and may be worth trying once more (5) STOWAWAY
HANOVER is an Open mare when "right", but hasn't been close to that in some time - showed some better
life in her last, and has a catch driver listed for tonight...maybe she's ready to start picking up her game
again? (1) BETABCOOL N seems to be back on the upswing after hitting a pretty rough patch - she's just 1
for 29 here at YR (last 3 yrs), but looks like a good one to include underneath. (4) WALTZWITHSIERRA
A continues to disappoint for a barn that's otherwise going well right now - drops again, so maybe this will
be the level where she finds some better life. (6) BE BEST doesn't seem on her best game right now, but
she's had some good moments here in the past, and is worth throwing in for 3rd/4th at a big price. (3)
WIGGLE DELIGHT seems a bit cheap, and has struggled at times in her few Yonkers starts - draws well,
so maybe can grab a minor share. (8) CHELSKI fits ok with these, but will be hard pressed to find a way
into the race from out here. (7) GRANT ME THIS hasn't had a lot of success in her local tries, and
probably needs to be in easier to be a threat.
