The Empire Report - Thursday, October 14, 2021 - Race Analysis
RACE 1 - (1) E R HILARY wasn't herself 2 back (new barn, off track, up in class) but rebounded quickly
with a solid 2nd last week - draws best in a pretty soft basement field, and that stamps her as the one to beat
(3) THE CHARGING MOA N probably disliked the off going 2 back, and was stuck in the back with no
chance in her last - definitely a spot where we could see a big wake up call tonight. (6) DIBABA N made a
break as the odds on choice 2 back, but was much better when 3rd in her last - this is definitely a field
where she can make some noise, even from Post 6. (7) SOCIETY JILL had really been struggling for a
while but raced a lot better last week - she'll be a big price from out here, but may not be a bad one to
include underneath. (5) SANDY WIN moves to a new barn and that gives her license to improve a bit -
willing to throw in for 3rd, even with an amateur pilot on board. (2) BEAUTY BAYAMA has been
struggling with lesser and has missed a month - hard to like, even from the inside. (4) FOLLOW YOUR
NOSE is off a month after some uninspiring efforts - just watching, for now. (8) MY CAM GIRL is way off
form and lands Post 8 - waiting to see some better signs.
RACE 2 - Tough race! (8) OPERATION SHIPLEY arrived from Iowa 12-13-3-3 record, had things pretty
much her own way but was collared by a horse with a much tougher trip - on the flip side, she'll be a much
better price tonight, and could be tighter with a start under her belt - worth a shot in a race with seemingly a
lot of possible winner. (7) SEARCHING FOR YOU is a fresh Iowa shipper that brings a 28-11-7-4 record
with him - no reason that THIS guy can't end up getting his picture taken in his local debut. (3) JESSIES
OUTLAWED had success racing mostly on the Indiana fair circuit - was only cut loose in the final 50 yards
last week and was right there on the wire in his YR debut - would be no surprise at all. (2) SV ROYAL
FLUSH usually comes up weak at the end but was better last week - if he can build on that a bit, maybe he
can be a threat tonight. (5) YANKEE PEDDLER perked up when the youngest Huckabone took over and
ships in from VD riding a 3 race win streak - he's almost certainly going to be facing better tonight, so that
5/2 ML price is a bit of a turn off. (6) IONA DREAM moves to a very sharp barn and adds Lasix but that
Monti qua. was less than stellar - maybe the tote board will shed some clues? (1) DRAVEN HANOVER
comes into this at 0 for 24, and should be considered for a smaller piece only. (4) KEYSTONE CECILIA is
struggling, and seems overmatched at the moment.
RACE 3 - (4) EDGE OF ETERNITY had plenty of pace for 3rd after shaking free last week, vs. a much
better field - drops a notch for hot barn, and has earned a play off that solid Yonkers debut. (3) ISLAY N
was reclaimed from her last and steps up after taking 2 of her last 3 -- maybe sharp enough right now to do
well against these too. (7) COWGIRL LILLY was handled conservatively last week after a miscue the
week before - not a good spot tonight, but she'll be a good price and is worth including underneath. (2)
MALNIFICENT benefited from a crazy race last week and almost grabbed the win - she's back down to a
level where she can be a player every week, and is another that can be included in exotics. (5) ACEFORTY
FOUR DOME has gone south since the claim but adds Lasix tonight, so there is a possibility she could perk
up - decent bomb to consider for a small piece. (1) HIGH ROLLING A is having trouble finding her form
even as she's plunged back down to lower levels - definitely iffy right now, even from the pole (6)
GREENHILL HANOVER should appreciate the class drop, but not sure she can find a way into the race
tonight. (8) TOPVILLE ANGELINA landed on a no prayer trip last week after not even functioning in her
prior few - Post 8 figures to leave her waiting at least another week before she can try to get back on track
RACE 4 - (2) FUNKY BISCUIT was handled conservatively in his YR debut bit finished up full of trot at
the end - moves inside, gets Dube on board, and should be ready to deliver his best from this spot. (1)
INFINITE ZETTE is a very logical threat from the pole but he's just 1 for 17, and he's listed 8/5 ML - may
beat these, but definitely won't offer any value. (3) SAN CRISTOBAL is always a threat to make a break
but he's a good fit when he behaves - would definitely include him in exotics. (8) SQUABLE has improved
considerably over the year after being almost non functional in many of his early starts - fits well with these
now, but Post 8 could severely limit his output tonight. (5) HEARTOFGOLD DE VIE seems a bit too
cheap, but he does get a barn change for tonight...we'll see if that perks him up a bit. (7) BIG CHARLIE
MORAN goes 2nd time Lasix and did win a race here earlier this year - pretty tough spot from out here,
though. (6) ORIGINAL SMOKEY was able to pick up a win 2 back and does have some speed - chance for
a small piece if he can get away to a good start. (4) SOUTHERN SWAN MAN makes his local debut after
arriving from Indiana - exits a high % barn from out there, so we'll see how he fares for his new
connections
RACE 5 - (1) BYE BYE MICHELLE has been in a few impossible spots but will have every chance to be
part of the action tonight with the move to the rail - feels like a good week to give her a shot at what figures
to be a square price. (4) FEELIN RED HOT hasn't been anywhere her best game lately but the track has
been playing pretty speedy the past couple of nights and this might the spot where she can reverse form and
tale these wire to wire...but only worth a play if the price is decent. (3) PRAY THE ROSARY conceded
from Post 7 last week but was pacing very well at the end - legitimate chance here for hot barn (with the
right pace scenario). (2) CORAL BELLA has been very steady lately, but does move up a notch for tonight
- not sure she can win, but a piece is within reach. (6) SANDYS BEACH is doing much better since the
barn change, also benefiting from being driven the way she prefers - not sure about her trip from this spot,
but she's another with a valid chance if the race sets up in her favor. (5) CHECKERED PAST raced ok the
last couple of weeks to pick up 3rds off nice trips - a similarly kind journey could produce another decent
outcome. (7) PAIGES GIRL will need a lot to go her way to be able to make much of a dent from out here.
(8) ACEFOURTYFOUR ALEX will be coming from last...and that's not a promising scenario
RACE 6 - (4) CREDIT CON was just "road tested" off a bad date (for a new barn) last week but did finish
with plenty of trot- he's more accomplished than any of these, and will surely be handled more aggressively
this week - the one to beat. (6) CAMDEN HILLS upped his game considerably upon moving to the Super
Siblings, but that surely should surprise nobody - was challenging for 2nd on the final turn when he made a
costly miscue last week, but he's clearly the main danger to the top choice if he minds his manners tonight.
(8) BROOKROAD MASTER took dead aim at the favorite last week and almost pulled off the 76-1 upset -
gets no luck with the draw tonight, but can still take home a nice piece of this if he can replicate last week's
performance. (5) TRANQUILITY K picked up 3rds in his last 2 starts and he should be able to grab
another decent piece tonight - use him underneath. (1) CHURCH SOUT just missed 2 back then rallied
stoutly to grab the top prize last week - rail draw gives him a decent chance to land somewhere in the
exotics again. (7) YUCATAN PARTY MAN is doing much better since he finally started getting catch
drivers on a regular basis....but he'll need plenty of trip luck for a chance at a good piece from all the way
out here. (2) EXPLOSIVE MOTION seems to be on the cheaper side - Harrington shipper will hope to use
his inside post to tow along for a minor piece. (3) SNOWFALLA also appears a bit cheap - prefer others.
RACE 7 - (3) SIESTA BEACH has been rock solid for what seems like an eternity, and hasn't drawn this
far inside in a long time - she sports an outstanding 39-13-7-7 local slate, handles any trip that comes her
way, and gets the call tonight largely due to the kind draw. (4) RACINE BELL just wasn't at her best the
last 2 weeks, turning for home in charge then allowing the trip sitter to run her down both times - of course,
her "off weeks' are better than most mares could do at their best - picking her for 2nd tonight, but it would
be no surprise to see her show up on her best game and get back into the win column for the 12th time this
year. (2) JIVE DANCING A is hitting on all cylinders right now, and her last mile was just beastly - if
you're looking for a "price horse" with a chance to upset, she'd be a good choice. (6) DRAGON ROLL has
won 3 of her last 5 with the 2 losses being 2nds to SIESTA BEACH - gets hurt by the draw for sure, but
she's razor sharp and CAN race from off the pace - ok for a piece. (1) NATASHA has been stuck too far
back in her last couple, but figures for a better trip tonight - may be able to tow along close enough to pick
up a small share. (7) SNOBBYTOWN hadn't been on her nest game for a while, but did look more like her
good self in running down RACINE BELL last week - Post 7 may limit her tonight, however. (5) IMPRIN
CESS GEMMAA has a new trainer listed in the program this week but this veteran conditioner did well
with the stock the last time the main trainer got suspended - we'll see how things go this time around
RACE 8 - (4) DC ANNA took a while to find her stride in her local debut but was flying late to just miss to
a classy old veteran - stuck with Post 8 in her last pair, but finished full of trot each time (though you might
not know that just from looking at her lines) - will need some luck to go her way tonight, but she may just
be able to pull off the upset IF things get a little testy up front. (5) JULA MUSCLE PACK beat a cheaper
field here earlier this summer but also raced ok in a Yonkers Trot elim. - has more than enough ability to
beat these, but does make some breaks, and can also be a little inconsistent...hard to get excited about a
wager at that 8/5 ML price. (3) FOCUS POCUS was a strong 3rd here a while back but made a break as the
favorite in his next try - his most recent Pocono lines are pretty uninspiring but at 20-1 ML, would at least
throw him in underneath for exotics. (1) DIFFIDENT has been a steady player in her Yonkers starts, with a
6-2-1-1 local slate - rail draw puts her in the mix for a decent piece. (2) VICTORIANA grabbed a win vs.
cheaper for her new barn but that mile is sandwiched between a couple of miscues - leaning towards others,
but it would hardly be a shock to see this filly race well here. (6) COCKTAILS N DREAMS has picked up
pieces in all 5 local starts but no wins - draws outside, and is likely looking at only a smaller share once
more. (7) TURBOCHARGEDPETE went sour for a while - showed a better effort 2 back but then quickly
reverted to that lesser form in last - hard to recommend from Post 7 tonight. (8) BABY MAKER
HANOVER draws Post 8 after missing a month - pass this week
RACE 9 - (6) ROSE RUN VICTORY raced from well back in her local debut and wasn't going to make up
ground into that :27.2 final quarter - was hammered down to 1/2 at Chester in her next start and wired that
(somewhat cheaper) field handily - looks like she can leave the gate tonight, and that would give her a solid
chance here. (7) SHEIKH YABOOTY N had to abort her leave attempt last week and seemed disinterested
after that - her barn has come back to life this week (after a bad slump when the siblings were out of town),
so maybe this mare will come alive as well, even from Post 7. (8) MONICA GALLAGHER will need an
awful lot to go her way from Post 8 but she's better than most of these, and should be a nice price - can't
blame anybody looking to include her on their tickets. (5) WALTZWITHSIERRAA could be the "x factor"
tonight - she's winless in 9 starts since arriving stateside but she adds Lasix for tonight, and her barn has
been sending them out live this week - worth a look? (2) CLASSY CHAPEL N has been racing well for
several weeks as she continues to climb the class ladder - inside draw gives her a chance at a piece. (4)
JOSSIE JAMES A has enjoyed an outstanding year but she's come up with more bad tries than good ones
lately - may be vulnerable here at a short price. (1) BALFAST N draws best but probably needs to be in a
little easier to be a serious player. (3) DIAMONDTOOTHGERTIE does her damage vs. much easier
RACE 10 - (5) DUCHESSPEDIA fooled almost nobody when she demolished a field at 2/5 last start after
joining the Dynamic Duo - faces a pretty solid NW6 field tonight but when this barn gets one sharp, they
usually STAY sharp for a while - the one to beat. (1) GAB IN MOTION shipped in from Canada showing
legitimate ability and did not disappoint in his local bow, winning as he pleased in an impressive mile -
we'll see if he can give the top choice a tussle tonight. (3) BOOM CITY has been good since joining this
barn in August and that includes a win here 2 starts back - not sure he can step with the top pair, but we'll
find out tonight. (6) ETHAN T HANOVER delivered here last week as the odds on choice...but not without
a late scare from a 76-1 shot- would probably like his chances more if not for the outside draw (7) HOOLIE
N HECTOR is an in and out type but does throw some nice efforts here at Yonkers - decent bomb for 3rd/
4th if spreading a bit. (2) MOON BRIDGE continues to take $$ and continues to disappoint frequently -
prefer others. (4) SWEET HEART AS has been racing steadily at PcD but does seem a notch below the
main players here. (8) GOO GOO DOLL draws Post 8 for her YR debut - we'll just watch, for now
RACE 11 - (1) SCUOLA HANOVER was super from Post 8 upon arrival 2 back - was sent off as the 1/10
favorite last week (off the strength of that 8 hole try) and was an absolute jogburger - steps back up a notch,
but remains the one to beat. (2) DANCE CLUB wasn't as effective in the Open in her last couple but she
wasn't "bad" either - looking at a good trip here, and can grab herself a nice piece of this. (3) DBLDELITE
BRIGADE N was dull last week off the sick scratch but it has to be considered a good sign that she drops
right back in the box tonight - gets some class relief, and that should put her in play for a spot in the exotics
(5) LUCKY ARTIST A landed on a very unlucky trip last week but was still pacing very well late - may be
overlooked in this tougher field, but she's sharp enough for a chance at a piece. (4) DEMETER N handled
easier last week but hasn't been as effective lately against these types - maybe can save ground and take
home a small share? (7) BETTERB CHEVRON N was sluggish from the start last week and threw a rare
clunker (she's been very sharp for some time) - may have already had tonight's drop in mind heading into
her last, but the outside draw may see her waiting for a better spot to strut her stuff. (6) YS TALLIA has
done good work this year but may need to be in a little easier - outside post doesn't help, either.
RACE 12 - (1) TURNTHEFROWNAROUND had an impossible trip on a terrible surface last week and
should probably just get a complete pass for that mile - moves all the way inside, and look for her to show
up with a strong effort tonight. (4) MAN DONTFORGET ME has been so good for so long that last week's
dull effort was a real surprise - talented 4YO deserves a chance to rebound, and belongs on your tickets. (2)
ROCKNROLL ANNIE just dominated this class 2 back at 11-1...but wasn't quite the same racing first over
against better last week - drops back down, and has to be seen as a possible threat once more. (5) IM VERY
SPECIAL has struggled to grab wins here this year (she's been getting them out of town), but she's raced
well on many occasions - ok to use underneath. (6) SHELLIE DE VIE may be on the cheaper side but she's
definitely sharp, and is worth throwing in for 3rd/4th. (8) SHECANDANCE N has hit board in 4 straight
but will need some serious luck from Post 8 to keep that streak alive tonight. (3) ASHTNI was struggling at
the bottom levels before a recent streak suddenly has her in NW20000 - she'll have to prove that she can
hang with these (much) better mares. (7) ROLL WITH ANGEL draws Post 7 after missing a month
