The Empire Report - Monday, November 29, 2021 - Race Analysis

RACE 1 - (2) DARK ENERGY N has been very sharp for some time and actually has been getting even

BETTER in his last few comes into this in career form, looking to make it 3 in a row...and has a good

chance to do so. (1) BLUEBIRD RECON has been racing well for several of our top barns and lands in yet

another new home for tonight - not thrilled about the jump to 40s, but the rail draw should leave him with a

pretty good trip...and a chance to be right there from start to finish. (3) PROVOCATIVEPRINCE N has

been good in his last few, even winning from a pocket last week (not really his best trip) - have to include

him in exotics in his sharp current form. (8) RECORD YEAR will need a lot of trip luck to find his way

into the hunt from out here but he's more than sharp enough to grab a good piece IF that happens. (4) AME

RICAN WIGGLE hit board a couple of times at this level when the trip has gone his way and it's possible

that could happen tonight - not worth a shortish price on top, though. (6) DESIRES CAPTAIN won 5 in a

row after joining this high powered barn but has been winless in last 5...chance for a piece, but probably not

more from this spot. (7) MARTY MONKHOUSER A has been terrific here for most of the last 3 years but

this is probably going to be a tough spot for him (similar to last week) - would need a pretty big price to

consider him. (5) YANKEE OSBORNE doesn't seem up for battling the 40s at this moment.

RACE 2 - (2) MICKY GEE N looked like his old self as he flew across the wire like a blur last week -

anything close to that effort should make him a winner from this spot, against this field. (4) FLYING FINN

N was hurt by a (rare) Bongiorno "under drive" last week and had to settle for 2nd - don't really see him

beating the top choice tonight, but may very well complete the exacta. (6) SNOWBALLS ROMEO may be

hurt by the move outside but he's pretty good right now, and a decent trip could help him land somewhere

on the ticket. (1) MINNIE VINNIE beat the bottom class upon arrival from Iowa and has been doing some

good work as he's climbed the class ladder as well - rail draw makes him a legit contender for a good piece

of this. (3) PERFECTLY CLOSE just hasn't been on his best game but he's eligible to perk up at any time -

chance for a share if that happens. (7) KNOCKING AROUND is just 1 for 31 this year and will be coming

from last - hard to see him grabbing more than a minor share tonight. (5) MOTIVE HANOVER is just 1 for

24 at YR (last 2 yrs.) and generally needs to be in a bit easier for even a piece.

RACE 3 - Tough race! (7) ALWAYS AND AGAIN has the ability to beat these with the right trip, but

drawing outside again will mean that some major trip luck will be required - he goes for a new barn tonight,

so maybe Stratton will try to be more aggressive....decent value horse to consider. (1) ALEX TYE beat the

50s off the claim, caught a bad trip bumping up to 75s but used last week's GOOD trip to pick up the win -

obvious threat to repeat with his 4th straight rail draw. (3) IDEAL STAR N has done nothing but good work

since returning from the layoff, and proved last week that he can go at this level too - at 10-1 ML, he's

definitely one to consider. (5) BIG SIR would look much better in a bit cheaper but he's definitely sharp

enough to make some noise if things go his way - more than willing to use him if the price is right. (2)

ROBBIE BURNS N was good every week when he first arrived here but has become more unreliable in

recent starts - definitely a chance (on his best), but probably sticking with others tonight. (6) TIN ROOF

RAIDER A usually gives a good account of himself but he only has 2 wins this year, and seems better used

underneath, especially from this outside spot. (4) SHNEONUCRZYDIAMND A looked sharp wiring a bit

easier 2 back, but then threw a weak effort in his last - 8YO has been plagued by inconsistency for some

time, and is hard to endorse at any kind of short price. (8) BARBADOS threw a rare dud in his last, and

now lands Post 8 - will need some major battling up front to get close from this spot.

RACE 4 - (2) SAN DOMINO A was a very sharp winner 3 back, then raced well from hopeless spots in

his last pair - moves inside, catches an evenly matched bunch, and could offer some decent value...if he

gets along well with his new pilot. (4) ARTIES IDEAL had trouble chasing hot miles vs. better in his last

few but he's a proven player vs. these types, and could easily wake up with a big effort here - belongs on

your tickets. (3) ROCK CANDY has been thriving in his few starts since returning from the layoff, and

that includes his last 2 efforts here at Yonkers - no reason he can't be a threat once more. (6) WESTERN

FAME flopped last week off the re-claim, looking disinterested right from the start - hard to ignore him

with the drop, but wouldn't take a short price either. (8) SOMEBADDUDE has raced well since joining this

barn, but has been hurt by some tough spots - clearly it won't be easy to land on a good trip from out here,

but he's a decent bomb to consider if you think he might be able to find his way into the race. (1) PYRO is

hard to consider off his last pair (with a sick scr. in between) but we HAVE seen him reverse form and

deliver big miles in the past - would need a pretty good price to look his way. (5) ESCAPETOTHEBEACH

continues to grab pieces but his only recent win was vs. a NW15000 field - ok to use underneath. (7) THE

REAL ONE draws outside off a sick scratch and has been away for a moth - pass tonight.

RACE 5 - (3) DELIGHTFUL TERROR has looked very good since the recent claim, winning both starts

(including last week, at this same level) - looks to extend that streak to 3, and a live trip may allow him to

do just that. (7) JOESSTAR OF MIAA is the "x factor" tonight - threw his first lesser effort in ages last

start, and now drops in class while also drawing outside - hard to know if his slide will continue, or if he

can rebound quickly and beat these. (2) MACH DORO A beat these 3 straight starts before weakening late

to 4th last week - more than eligible to bounce right back with a winning effort. (5) FOREVER FAV has a

pair of 2nds and 3rds in his last 4 starts and just hasn't been able to make it back to the winner's circle - not

impossible, by any means. (1) THE WILD CARD just looked terrible 3 back, bounced back with a nice 2nd

in his next, but only had even pace for 4th last week - ok underneath, but leaning towards others for the top

slot. (8) SWEET N FAST N was claimed for $23K on 10/9 then rattled off 3 straight wins right up to the

75s - could only manage a 3rd up at this level, and it won't get any easier from Post 8 tonight. (6) OUR

CORELLI N is a bit iffy up at this level, and the outside draw isn't going to help his chances - maybe a

minor share. (4) MELODIES MAJOR seems overmatched in this spot.

RACE 6 - (5) MIKES Z TAM took 3 months off after a sick scratch, qualified sharply in NJ, had an

unlucky trip in his first start back but absolutely crushed his rivals last week - returns to YR at a comfy

level, and he's been very good here the past 3 years (25-8-6-4) - solid chance here. (4) NVESTMENT BLU

ECHIP should be feeling pretty good about himself after wiring lesser from Post 8 last start - should be able

to land another good piece tonight. (6) MATTICULOUS GB sports Stga. form that would make him a legit

player here...will definitely include in exotics, but hard to use on top as his barn is 1 for 45 here this year.

(1) CAPOZZO was struggling when last seen here but seems to be picking up his game down at Chester -

ok for a piece from the pole. (2) BENHOPE RULZ N followed a win in PA with a win here last week -

steps up tonight, but still a chance for a smaller piece in his good current form. (3) ABRAXAS BLUES A

has a good local history and is pretty sharp right now - ok bomb for 3rd/4th. (7) SIMPLE KINDA MAN

was really good here earlier this year but seems well off that best form right now - landing Post 7 makes it

even harder to like his chances. (8) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N won his last pair but on the lead, vs. lesser

- he's also missed a month (sick scratch), and draws Post 8 - will just watch, for tonight.

RACE 7 - Good race: (6) ELWELL raced very well 2 back off the sick scratch, then used an aggressive try

to crush his rivals last week - his trip is a bit more unpredictable from this spot, but we'll still give him the

narrow edge. (3) GHOST DANCE weakened late after a very tough trip 2 back, then was a solid best to a

very sharp winner in last - the right trip might be enough to get him to the winner's circle. (2) THISJETSA

BOOKIN is in his sharpest form in ages, and steps up another notch riding a 3 race win streak - would be

no real surprise if he was able to extend that streak to 4. (7) REGAL SON rallied well in both local tries to

pick up smaller pieces - hard to say if Kakaley will try to be more aggressive tonight (from another tough

spot), but this guy would have a chance if able to get in play without being used too hard, (8) CHANGE

STRIDE N drops back down to 40s after finishing right there in 50s last week - he's rock solid at this level,

and would surely have been picked higher if not for the horrible draw. (1) BAMSKI kept trying last week

and was able to pick up a (well beaten) 2nd - seems like he may need to be in a little easier to be a more

serious threat, though. (5) BRACKLEY BEACH beat this class off the claim 3 back (perfect trip) but was

no threat in his last pair - sticking with others. (4) LORD WILLOUGHBY A ships back in off a pair of no

factor efforts at Batavia - would need a major wake up to be a threat here.

RACE 8 - (1) GENIUS MAN hasn't won in a while and he can be a bit unreliable but this is a pretty

modest NW15000 field, he's hit board in 3 of his last 4 and he'll get to call the shots tonight - the one to

beat. (3) DON DOMINGO N just barely held on to beat cheaper last start but he's capable of winning at

this level too - eligible to be a serious threat tonight too. (2) CROCKETS CULLEN N is the 3rd horse from

this barn shipping in tonight - if the first couple get good results, perhaps upgrade this guys chances a bit?

(5) CONBOYVILLE is unproven at this level but he's done good things recently since moving to this barn,

and he's not a bad one to consider if the price ends up being good. (4) TOOKADIVEOFFDIPPER has

disappointed since the barn change 4 back - certainly not impossible, but there's better value to be found

elsewhere. (7) WATERWAY is racing well right now but he has no recent wins AND he's being asked to

make a double jump.... from Post 7 -- prefer others. (6) EPIC ACE comes into tonight riding a modest 2

race win streak - class hike and move outside figure to slow him down, though. (8) YANKEE ROLLER A

does seem to be on the upswing, but he's another taking a double class jump while drawing horribly - very

tough spot.

RACE 9 - (4) LEONIDAS A has been VERY sharp, so it was surprising to see him sit in at Rosecroft in

the Potomac last week (and got caught behind a quitter, losing all chance) - catches a much easier field

tonight, and surely deserves top billing. (3) BUDDY HILL beat softer 2 back but was an excellent 3rd

behind a pair of very sharp (legitimate) Open pacers last week - a similar effort can put him back in the

hunt tonight. (5) MOONSHINE KISSES has just been crushing the Stga. locals for weeks - no factor the

last time he shipped down, but that was an impossible spot - he can be a player here, assuming he brings his

best effort. (1) SHANWAY N moves way up in class and hasn't raced since 11/2 -- but he's shown plenty of

promise in his 2 local starts, and we'll see if the rail can help keep in contention against these tougher foes.

(7) CAPTAIN BARBOSSA has been doing his best recent work vs. easier across the river and lands a very

tough spot for his YR debut - hard to get excited about a wager at that 3-1 ML price. (6) NONE BETTOR

A has been off his best form in his last few starts - if you think the driver change may perk him up, the

price will surely be right tonight. (8) COVERED BRIDGE disappointed in both local tries this year, and

now is stuck with the extreme outside returning to the Hilltop - would need a pretty good price to use him

on top. (2) KILOWATT KID N has missed a month after a sick scratch - pass for tonight.

RACE 10 - (2) WHITECOOKIE was on the move from 5th on turn two last week, never flushed any cover,

paced a quarter in :26.3 while battling TELLITSABB for the lead to 3/4s, had every license to be exhausted

by the final turn but never wavered, battling right to the wire before losing by a heartbreaking head - gets a

major post advantage over that same foe tonight and that makes this guy the one to beat. (1) GLENGARRY

KNIGHT N has been pretty good for several weeks, draws best, and an easy trip could land him a very

good piece of this. (8) TELLITSABB puts his 4 race win streak on the line tonight and it'll be hard to

extend it to 5 after drawing all the way outside - took everything the top choice could throw at him last

week but Post 8 will make it hard to replicate that effort tonight. (4) SOHO LENNON A earned himself a

pocket trip last week, worked hard chasing a hot 3rd panel and was right there at the end - include him in

your exotics again tonight. (5) WALKINSHAW N has a win and two 3rds in his last 3 starts at this level

and is undeniably sharp....he also comes into tonight off a sick scratch, and that makes it hard to know just

how tight he'll be. (6) SILAS SEELSTER finished 5th in last 4 starts and that looks just about where he

might finish tonight from this less than stellar starting spot. (7) ALOTBETTOR N has been good since the

recent claim but moves up in class AND lands outside - tough assignment. (3) GLOBALDOMINATION N

basically just stole one last week vs. cheaper... but won't find things nearly as easy against this much

tougher crew.

RACE 11 - Good race: (6) BENJIS BEST has raced well in all 3 local starts (terrible trip the first week),

and may benefit from a contested pace here - he'll be a fair price, and is one of several possible winners in

this hard to gauge affair. (4) SOHO LEVIATHAN A made an unexpected miscue 2 back but rebounded

immediately with last week's blowout score over the 40s - steps back up but is more than capable at this

level too - should be a major player. (3) BELTANE A beat the 40s three back off the claim, grabbing a new

lifetime mark in the process - beat the 75s in his next, but faltered first over in that class last week and now

drops down into the 50s - dangerous player. (2) AIR FORCE HANOVER was a bit short off the sick

scratch 2 back but finished well from an impossible trip in last, and figures to land on a much better trip

tonight - another possibility. (7) BALLERAT BOOMERANG won off the claim 2 back but didn't have

quite enough stretch pop in his last, settling for 4th - won't be easy from out here, but that 20-1 ML price

does make him worth at least a look. (8) MARK WITHA K lands his 3rd straight 8 hole, and may have to

wait yet another week to be a serious player. (5) IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N raced very well to just miss last

week, but does seem a bit cheaper than a few of the main players tonight. (1) LACHIE MAGUIRE N is

capable of some big efforts but he's been making way too many breaks lately to have any real confidence in

his chances tonight.

RACE 12 - (4) BARON MICHAEL was solid in his local debut then raced really well in his last, charging

home at the end after failing to get involved to the final turn - bumps up a notch but seems ready for it...

worth a play with the move inside. (1) OZONE BLUE CHIP had pace from a hopeless spot last week and

the move from Post 8 to the rail should make him a major threat - belongs on your tickets. (3) WESTERN

HILL threw a couple of duds 3 and 4 starts back but rebounded quickly on 11/10 with a win at the $25K

level - no chance in last (parked the mile), but a very logical threat from this spot. (6) BEVANS CULLEN

N was 0 for 38 over a two year period but has now taken 4 of his last 5 starts, and would probably have

been selected even higher if not for the outside draw - definitely not impossible. (2) TREASURE MACH

sports a 33-3-2-10 record this year....willing to consider him for 3rd/4th. (8) HAPPY TRIO is very sharp

right now, but the combination of the class hike and Post 8 figure to cramp his style a bit....minor piece

only. (5) SIX DAY WARS has been picking up only smaller pieces - needs to find more if he hopes to be a

more serious player. (7) DIG DANNY DIG was an ok 4th in his local debut - steps up to face older 30s

tonight, and also draws outside...prefer others.
