RACE 1 - (1) FASHIONONTHEBEACH was 0 for 16 last year and earned $8K for one of the top barns in
Canada - he was "distanced" in his PcD qualifier (pacing in 1:58.2) but was nevertheless sent off at EVEN
MONEY for his first start in a new barn at Chester, winning by five lengths in a 1:51.4 mile -- just missed
in the slop at PcD in his next but shipped in to Yonkers last week and crushed the 20s, bringing his record
to 3-2-1-0 since the barn change, already doubling what he earned in ALL of 2020 - this is the same barn
that has produced almost identical form reversals with ROUGH ODDS and EFFRONTE A recently, and is
clearly the sharpest outfit in the game right now - pretty hard to go against! (2) BAKERSFIELD threw a
clunker off the claim 2 back but rebounded quickly, going an excellent mile for 3rd last week (despite a
tough trip) - should be close from start to finish. (7) BLUEBIRD RECON raced very gamely in a tough loss
2 back, then was just used too hard from Post 8 last week (but still wasn't bad) - moves to a very high %
barn for tonight, and surely will be blasting off the car again - chance for a good piece if able to establish a
good early spot without being used too hard. (3) TIME OUT IM TIRED took "sneaky money" last week
and delivered the "pocket rocket" victory for a small barn that's been doing good work the past several
weeks - steps up in class, but a good trip could land him a piece of this. (6) JUST PLAIN LOCO is sharp
right now, and was just 2nd best to the top choice in his last - goes for a new barn now, moves up in class,
and moves outside another notch - tough spot. (4) KINGSTONS BAD BOY went some good miles in for
$20K, but may find these a bit tougher than he'd like - minor share only. (8) OFFICIAL DELIGHT is good
right now but he's stuck all the way outside, and is just 1 for 41 over the past 2 years - wait for better spot.
(5) AWESOMENESS beat a return winner in his last at PcD, but these are just much tougher - prefer others.
RACE 2 - Good race: (3) BARBADOS landed on a good trip 3 back and rallied to beat this class - just too
far back to have any chance off the claim last week, but may end up landing on a pretty live journey with
tonight's post relief - decent value play in a tough race. (5) CAROLINA MAGIC has been sharp for some
time, hails from a barn that's been clicking, and usually goes off at a square price - worthy of consideration.
(1) IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N is just 1 for 16 this year, and winless in his last 9 local starts...but he's been
knocking on the door lately, and could be looking at a winning trip tonight - willing to use, as long as he's
not overbet. (4) RECORD YEAR folded on the lead last week and his new barn will need to have him a lot
sharper tonight if he hopes to contend....he does have 6 wins already this year, so at least give him a look if
the price is juicy enough. (2) TOWNLINE FLIGHT has definitely been good and his barn has sent out it's
share of live players lately - he's also making a double jump in class, and is listed as the ML favorite - not
much value for the top slot. (6) TALK SHOW has been sharp lately but was only an even 4th moving up to
this level last week - debuts here for a high % barn, but still think he's likely looking at only a smaller share
(7) MY MIND IS MADEUP has raced well since the barn change 5 starts back but his long local winless
streak continues, and he's stuck with a terrible draw - tough spot (8) EGOMANIA reunites with his favorite
pilot and while his recent form is good, it's vs. much cheaper - long way to come from Post 8!
RACE 3 - (4) AIR FORCE HANOVER sat last for almost 3/4s of a mile before getting cut loose last week,
but paced a furious final quarter (after going wide on the final turn) to almost sweep 'em all - barn finally
winning some races again, and this guy is definitely sharp enough to give them another. (1) AINTNOBETT
OR A had a win and close 2nd the last 2X he drew inside at PcD, and was also 2nd to Revelry back on 5/1 -
draws best upon arrival at YR, and looms a very dangerous threat from this spot. (3) ORILLIA JOE hit
board in his last 2 at Chester vs. similar, and wired a NW15000 field here back on 5/1 - his trainer is one of
the rising young stars in the business, and Brennan takes him over #1 - lot to like here! (5) DELIGHTFUL
TERROR ships in off back to back Chester wins, and is clearly sharp right now - he'll also be moving up in
class, while racing from a new barn off a sick scratch - mixed feelings. (2) ANTHEM N usually does his
best vs. lesser, but the good draw may allow him to tow along closely enough to grab a small piece. (8)
WAIMAC ATTACK N has been doing good work out of town but draws Post 8 and is just 1 for 25 here at
YR - tough spot. (6) REAGANS AVENGER hung on the money vs. cheaper last week, and now lands
outside in a much tougher field - prefer others. (7) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A battled gamely to prevail in
last but he figures to have a tough time finding a manageable trip from all the way out here.
RACE 4 - (5) DEALT A WINNER still seems to enjoy his work at age 9, and makes his return to YR
showing a pair of recent Chester wins (along with a close 2nd) - he can handle any trip, and we'll give him
a narrow edge in a pretty wide open race. (4) UPTOWN FUNK is 0 for 6 since arriving here but it's not
because he hasn't raced well (hit board in 5 of the 6 starts) - it's only a matter of time before he wins one...
maybe tonight? (1) GLENGARRY KNIGHT N seems to race well whenever he's near the pace and he
should be right up there from this spot - raced well here in limited starts back in 2019, and can definitely
make some noise tonight. (6) ROCK LIGHTS has been razor sharp for a while, and goes for a new barn
tonight off back to back wins - would be no surprise at all. (2) LACHIE MAGUIRE N is another that's been
razor sharp, although he wasn't quite as good in his last (still 3rd), and goes for a new barn this week - yet
another possibility. (3) SOHO LEVIATHAN A did ok to rally for 4th from an impossible spot in last but
the jury is still out if he can hang with this class on a weekly basis - his new connections will learn more
tonight. (8) KEYSTONE PHOENIX was able to waltz to the lead in a strange race last week and almost
stole it - don't see that happening from this much tougher spot, though. (7) LETS HAVE ANOTHER does
his damage on the front end, and tonight's draw may make that impossible - much luck would be needed.
RACE 5 - (6) FLYING FINN N didn't have the greatest cover last week but was still able to charge home
through the lane to be a fast closing 2nd (to the very fresh winner) - would have liked his chances a lot
more with a better draw, but at least Post 6 will result in a better price - good value horse. (2) LEVINE is a
solid player every week...and that's why his local record is now at 14-3-4-5 - if the trip goes his way, he'll
be a big threat to take this...but he also tends to be a bit overbet. (1) MACHEASY couldn't quite get there
last week but he was off 3 weeks, and the winner is razor sharp right now - has to be seen as a serious threat
from this spot. (8) IM SOME GRADUATE has been finding his form vs. cheaper at Chester - gets the
worst of the draw while also stepping up for his YR return, and it's hard to say if he'll be able to overcome
the spot - might be a good idea to check the tote board. (4) HIGHLAND TARTAN gets a class drop and
while he'd look better one level down, he's still capable of grabbing a piece from this spot. (5) REDBANK
BLAZE A is normally a good fit at this level but his last few hint that he may be a bit off his game right
now - leaning to others this week. (7) THE REAL ONE has been away for about a month and will coming
from way back - good week to just observe, (3) BILBO HANOVER is in too tough here - drops next week.
RACE 6 - (2) GUMPTION was unable to beat even the 20s after arriving from Nfd. but he was a different
horse for his new connections last week, totally obliterating the 25s with a vicious "brush and crush" win -
takes a double jump for tonight but if he shows up just as sharp, he may be able to beat these too! (1) SPOR
TSKEEPER is generally much cheaper than these but he came to life in a big way 4 starts back and has just
been getting sharper ever since - has to be respected in his current form. (4) FOREVER FAV has been very
good since the April claim and getting better every start - if he lands on a good trip, he can make a lot of
noise here. (5) LYONS WILLIAM had been razor sharp for weeks before getting way too hot on the lad
last week and tiring badly - he'll be a much better price this time if you're willing to give him another shot.
(6) ROCK ON LINE showed up on his "A Game" last week and was a very sharp front end winner - he's
another being asked to double jump tonight, and drawing Post 6 just makes it even harder- may still be able
to rally for a decent piece, though. (3) OUR CORELLI N remains winless on the year, but perhaps can just
save ground and take home a small slice. (7) ROCK THE NITE can't be faulted form-wise, but he moves
up off a barn change, draws poorly, and may not find a way into the hunt. (8) TREASURE MACH is the
outsider, both literally and figuratively.
RACE 7 - (1) MACH N CHEESE had a horrendous 2020 campaign but things have been better (so far) in
2021 - he was holding his own in the Borgata Series before winning his last leg, and then picking up 3rd in
the Final - was freshened up after that and tightened up chasing a 1:48 mile in NJ last week - the rail draw
could make him a tough customer tonight. (4) OSTRO HANOVER was in bad spots the last 2 weeks but
we know he can hold his own with these - barn going well now, and he'll be a decent price here...good one
to include on your tickets. (5) PYRO can be a very tough customer when on his best game, and has already
won 5 of 13 local starts this year - his fate probably hinges on whether or not there are a couple of leavers
inside of him (which would surely hurt his chances). (2) RAUKAPUKA RULER N was the uncontested
leader last week, grabbed a very easy half but just wasn't sharp enough to finish the job - much better price
looming for this week IF you think he can bounce right back with a sharper effort. (6) FINE DIAMOND
couldn't sustain his long first over bid 2 back but that same move (from closer up) worked last week, and he
scored a sharp Open victory...at 24-1 -- moves outside here, and that figures to leave him with a smaller
share tonight. (7) SHADOW CAT has been sharp all year, and has held that form all the way up to the top
levels - used a nice 2nd over trip (behind #6) to be 2nd last week but may be facing a much tougher journey
this time. (3) CAVIART LUCA still has some big miles in his 10YO legs but fields like this may be a little
out of his comfort zone at this point. (8) PEACE OUT POSSE has been in fine form for a long time, but
gets stuck with Post 8 while well up in class - tough combination to overcome.
RACE 8 - (4) ITALIAN DELIGHT N was a bit disappointing in a trip of starts here this May but has
certainly looked in his last pair across the river, and may just benefit from a contested pace in front of him -
one of a few that could take this, depending on trip. (3) IDEAL JIMMY beat this class here on 3/30, and
returns from Tioga off a pair off good looking wins in their Open - he's visited the Yonkers winner's circle
many times, and is a big threat to do so again tonight....but may have to deal with a couple of hard leavers
to his inside. (1) BUDDY HILL struggled at lower levels for a long time but has seen his game improve
exponentially ever since changing barns on 5/10 - in his current (raging) form, he has to be considered a
legitimate threat, even vs. these much tougher foes. (2) BETTOR MEMORIES isn't on his very best game
these days but he's not "bad" either - can never be discounted at this level, especially with an inside draw.
(5) GINGRAS BEACH was able to get it done vs. cheaper with a pocket trip in last - his overall recent
form is solid, his barn was clicking last week, and he may be able to grab a piece, even with the class hike.
(7) DENVER SEELSTER will like the class drop, but dislike the draw - may have to wait for a better post
before strutting his best stuff. (6) DON DOMINGO N probably needed his last, but now he could use a
class drop, and better post- will wait for a better scenario. (8) GENTLEMAN JIM II IE had some mixed
results in a handful of local starts last year - probably fits well here, but the draw is going to hurt.
RACE 9 - (2) ROCKIN SPEED was good before the recent barn change, and even better since - just ignore
last week's mile (race was ruined when Nandolo N was pulling himself up on the lead and "accordioned"
the field on turn two0) - faces a solid bunch here, but still gets the narrow edge. (1) SHNEONUCRZYDIA
MND A flew home from an impossible spot last week, but the rail draw will set him up with a much easier
trip tonight - he's probably the one to beat, but he'll likely be overbet, and he's just 1 for 9 here (past 2 yrs.).
(8) GALANTE A gets a class drop, is the "best" horse in here, but iffy (at best) to be blasting from Post 8 -
the sense is that he'll probably race conservatively (waiting for a better spot), but he CAN win if somehow
things go his way...and the price will be big. (4) MACS JACKPOT will get a lot of support off the class
drop but he remains winless on the year, and there's no guarantee that'll change just with the escape from
the Opens - possible for sure, but not worth a short price. (5) HEAVENS GAIT has become a total "in and
outer", and very hard to gauge from week to week - make sure to get a good price if he's your choice, (6)
TOWNLINE ALL GOOD was no factor last week, but he was racing off a bad date - he'd been sharp prior
to that, so we'll see if he can bounce back tonight. (3) ON THE VIRG already has 5 wins this year, but not
up at this level - probably looking at only a minor piece here. (7) IMSTAYNALIVE is riding a 4 race win
streak and is razor sharp...but the class hike and Post 7 figure to slow him down considerably.
RACE 10 - (5) LISBURN was an excellent 2nd to (Open winner) FINE DIAMOND 3 back, followed up
by a close 2nd behind a streaking Picard A - no chance in Chester in his last (with his trainer on board), but
he'll be a nice price tonight, and has a chance...even though he's missed 3 weeks. (1) CAN B PERFECT is
the logical (heavy) favorite from the pole, having hit board in 9 of 11 local starts this year - only one WIN,
however, so it may not be a bad idea to take a little shot against him. (3) ELWELL shocked with that sharp
win off the long layoff 3 back, then landed outside in his next 2 starts - expect a much better effort with the
move inside. (2) ALTA LEROY N has actually been very sharp, but didn't even pretend to be interested
from Post 7 last week - not a bad week to use him on your tickets. (4) QUATRAIN BLUE CHIP just wasn't
quite right here 2 back, then just toured the oval at Chester from a bad post in his next - on his best he does
fit with these, so give him a look if the price gets pretty juicy. (6) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N just beat this
class 3 back, and certainly shouldn't be 20-1 ML - he's in a tough spot for sure, but use him in exotics id
spreading a bit. (7) SKIP TO MY LOU has been well backed the last 3 weeks but hasn't been able to raise
his game enough to be a serious threat - won't get any easier from Post 7 tonight. (8) NVESMENT BLUEC
HIP really needs to be inside to have any real chance against this type.
RACE 11 - (5) SPEED MAN N hasn't been a player in his last few but he gets significant class relief here,
and he's proven that he can beat these (and better, actually) - looking for a much better effort from him this
week. (3) NONE BETTOR A was moved to one of the sport's leading trainers for the Borgata Series but
she had no luck with him - been freshened up and qualified well enough (behind the new and improved
Dragon Said), and he'll likely be the one to catch, and beat. (8) ON THE CARDS N wasn't at his best over
the Pocono slop 2 back, but he has 2 wins and a 2nd in his other 3 starts since arriving from NZ - tough
spot for his YR debut, but these connections should never be discounted! (1) LUCIANO N moves up to a
level he hasn't seen in some time, but he's really on his game right now, and even gets a vote of confidence
from Holland (who takes him over #2) - use underneath. (4) PERFECTLY CLOSE has been holding good
form even at these elevated levels - not sure he can beat these, but he can definitely grab a good chunk. (2)
WINDSUN RICKY gets post and class relief tonight - might be enough to help him land somewhere in the
exotics, with the right trip. (6) TIGER BARON and (7) SANTAFES COACH both have some good recent
starts, but also figure to be too far back in this solid field to do any real damage.
RACE 12 - (2) SAN DOMINO A was bent in half to let a struggling Nandolo N take over to the quarter to
last week, got jammed up on turn two when that one was pulling himself up and had to pop out to reclaim
he lead (after the pace slowed to a crawl), did well to get rolling enough in the final half to preserve the
win, and can be forgiven for the "unimpressive" final margin - might look a lot better tonight with a
smoother trip. (4) MICKY GEE N was jammed up in that same race before ending up first over, battled
with the top choice a long way and only weakened a bit at the end - we haven't seen his best since returning
from the layoff, but he's still a big threat in a field like this. (7) MARK WITHA K is back on his game now
- he'll be a big price here, but it's possible that he can come flying late for a piece of this. (6) EHRMANTR
OUT took advantage of the class relief last week to score a sharp front end win - he'll be coming from the
back tonight, and a smaller piece seems to be in the cards for him. (3) CASUAL COOL's 3 race win streak
will be in jeopardy here - not sure if he can handle a couple of these, but he still belongs underneath in
exotics. (1) DANCIN DRAGON will be helped greatly by the pole here - a quick getaway and easy trip
could result in him taking home a decent share. (8) ESCAPETOTHEBEACH was able to score the front
end win off the class drop last week - looking at a MUCH tougher trip tonight and as sharp as he is, he may
not be able to overcome it. (5) GENIUS MAN is hard to fault in his current form but he's also benefited
from a long string of top or pocket trips...and that may not happen here.
