RACE 1 - (2) NUTTINBUTHEBEST was very good 2 back when she just missed racing off a sick scratch
- was well meant again in her next but ended up trapped inside behind a tiring horse and lost any real shot
(though still finishing up well to be 4th) - she's feeling good right now, and the right trip may help her find
the winner's circle. (3) BETTER WATCH IT seems to go a solid effort every week, though wins have been
tough to come by - she moves back inside, and did get her picture taken the last time she drew so well -
chance to do so again tonight. (5) CHUPPAH ON just missed in her last couple and is another that's feeling
pretty good right now - has the speed to grab a good trip here, but can also race from behind if necessary -
legitimate threat. (7) CORAL BELLA lost her bid for 3 in a row when she came up 2nd best last week to
the streaking SHECANDANCE N - she's way too good right now to be listed at 10-1 ML, and deserves a
good look even from out here. (1) ELLEOFADELI hasn't been sharp at all but does draw the pole for our
leading trainer/driver tandem - a big wake up call wouldn't be all that shocking (but still leaning to others).
(4) PAIGES GIRL is usually good for a decent move every week though usually just for smaller pieces -
likely more of the same tonight. (6) STELLENBOSCH has a couple of good recent efforts but may be hurt
badly by tonight's draw. (8) HEY HEY DBAY landed in a soft spot last week and Stratton wisely handled
her aggressively (leading to a victory) - not too many options from Post 8 tonight, however.
RACE 2 - (4) QUALITY BUD had NO prayer 2 back but has otherwise been sharp in all his recent starts -
gets important post relief, and that 6-1 ML price makes him appealing in a field where the ML choices may
be somewhat vulnerable. (2) MY ULTIMATE STAR A took a while to get his first U.S. victory but he
came back to win again the next week, then was an excellent 2nd to a sharp KINGSVILLE last week - may
be sharp enough right now to be a big threat here too, despite the big class bump. (1) BARBADOS raced
"ok" in his last couple but clearly hasn't been his sharpest self since the claim on 2/13- he MAY just quarter
move here and beat these like "old times", but he just seems a little risky right now for that 9/5 ML price.
(5) NOWHERE CREEK A has been camera shy for a while (even at lower levels) but he did race very well
in his last couple, picking up a pair of 2nds at big prices - has to be considered a bit more seriously in his
fine current form. (3) INDICTABLE HANOVER loved just outrunning cheaper for a couple of weeks but
has struggled in his last couple - hard to recommend at that low 2-1 ML price. (6) MARLBANK ROAD
has a few strong recent efforts but gets stuck with another tough draw - prefer others tonight, but he's still a
decent though for longshot fans. (7) AMERICANLIGHTNINGN is a streaky sort that just seems off at the
moment - would be a surprise from out here.
RACE 3 - (2) JAHAN HANOVER had a great run early in the season but that landed him over his head for
a few starts - his last was better than it looks (paced a BIG 3rd quarter to gain lots of ground inside) and
now he drops down to the level he wired on 2/6...and will look to do again tonight. (4) KINGSVILLE is on
a roll of his own and steps up one more notch seeking his 4th in a row - more than sharp enough to do it,
especially if the top choice doesn't bring his best. (1) VIVA LAS VEGAS N steps up after picking up a 2nd
and a 3rd vs. a bit cheaper in his last 2 local starts - several in his barn are starting to come around now, and
the good draw gives him a shot at a piece of this. (3) HEEZ OURPERSEUS N raced ok in his last 2 tries at
this level and the recent import seems like a good fit once more - include in exotics. (5) HEISMAN PLAY
ER was a very sharp winner 2 back but took no $$ last week and turned in a dull effort - he may just need
to be in a little easier, but still seems capable of a minor piece with these too. (6) MONTANA CHIEF A has
a couple of solid PcD qualifiers after being away since 12/2 - the guess is that he'll need a start, but check
the board for some clues. (7) SILENT SPLENDOR caught a shuffle last week and was racing well for
several starts prior to that - exits the age-restricted claimers tonight, and the outside draw really figures to
hurt his chances. (8) GAMBLINGTERROR found no holes after leaving last week and now lands Post 8.
RACE 4- (1) HURRIKANE HUNTER had a mixed bag of tries at 2 but he did show very legitimate
ability, winning a NYSS at Monti in 1:54.3 followed by a near miss in a Kindergarten leg in 1:52.1 -
qualified back nicely, and will be a big threat tonight if he returns anywhere near his best form. (6) TWO
FACED has been ultra-consistent to start his career (9-3-4-2), but hasn't really thrown any "big" miles - he's
certainly a major threat against these, but really doesn't inspire enthusiasm for a wager at that 8/5 ML price.
(7) AMBITIOUSBEACHBOY had some "sneaky ok" tries so that wire to wire victory 2 back was hardly a
shock - tough trip 4th in his next, then rallied for 5th from an impossible spot in his last - will need Kakaley
to be a little aggressive tonight in order to be in position to do any real damage from out here. (2) BEST
BETTOR is just 1 for 33 but has gone some better efforts recently - not a bad one to consider underneath in
exotics. (5) LETMECALLYOUBACK is just 1 for 27 over the last 2 years but does fit well enough with
these for a chance at a piece....with a decent trip. (8) VARNEY was able to grab a rare win off the pocket
trip 3 back then grabbed smaller pieces in his last pair - brutal draw, but ok for 3rd/4th at a big price. (4)
COALFORD BYTHESEA had no excuse when collared by #8 two back and his overall local form is pretty
lackluster - leaning towards others. (3) WE SHALL SEA struggled chasing the hot pace last week - not
giving up on his just yet, but would like to see a better effort before considering for a wager.
RACE 5 - (1) NORMANS MADELINE was stuck in the back last week (NW20000) but has otherwise
been holding her form pretty well - drops in for a tag tonight, and the rail draw will probably see her on the
front end...and that's where she likes to be. (3) LADY DELA RENTA A was off a month to her last after a
sick scratch and wasn't bad - this is a very logical spot for her to use her one big move...but that puzzling
5/2 ML price does make her a bit less appealing! (4) ALWAYS B MIMI gets some post relief and should
end up with a decent trip here - could be a spot for an improved effort. (6) FLIP THE SCRIPT is racing
pretty well right now and her barn has been sending out some very live horses - if Stratton can work out a
decent trip, she might have a chance to upset these (7) HEAVENISSOFARAWAY showed an ugly looking
qualifier on 3/11 but did race ok last week - on her best she fits with these, and she'll be a big price from out
here - not a bad stab for longshot fans. (2) TOBAGO TIME finished up the track on 3/2 then was scratched
the following week - she's missed nearly 4 weeks, and seems likely to need this start.(8) MAGICAL MIST
RESS was hammered down to 1/2 for her 2nd start off the layoff but was easily rebuffed after popping out
of the pocket and tired to 3rd - won't get any easier from Post 8. (5) ACEFOURTYFOUR ALEX saved
ground for 4th last week but her overall recent form has been uninspiring.
RACE 6 - (2) LOUS SWEETREVENGE was racing well before dropping to this level last week, and was
able to deliver the victory as the 1/5 favorite (though he did have to work for it) - the class was re-written to
give him a free ride at this level ("NW22,801L6"), and the road to the winner's circle still goes through him
(3) BOILING OAR wasn't on his game 2 back but rebounded with a BIG effort last week, pushing #2 to his
limit before finally settling for 2nd best - we'll see if he can find a way to reverse that decision tonight. (1)
SMOKIN BY N is another that gets a free ride (thanks to the re-written condition) after a game win last
week - draws best, and figures to have a big say once more. (6) WALKINSHAW N is racing well for a barn
that's come to life lately, but faces a very tough task after drawing Post 6 (with 3 very sharp horses drawn
all the way inside) - maybe he can rally for a small share? (5) OUR CORELLI N had been sharp for weeks
before throwing a dull one last week - we'll see if he can bounce back with a better one tonight, and take
home a slice. (4) BRANQUINHO still looks short, but did look better in his 2nd off the layoff - we'll see if
he can make some more progress tonight. (7) THEFLYINGROCK is still racing well, but this higher level
has left him with much smaller pieces- hard to see how he can into play tonight (8) CAN B PERFECT was
a solid 4th last time but will be coming from last tonight - sticking with others.
RACE 7 - Good race: (6) DP REALORDEAL wasn't nearly as sharp after returning from the layoff but did
look better in his last couple - adds Lasix for tonight and should be offering a pretty good price in a race
with several live players....and several ways that things could play out. (2) HEART OF DIXIE races well
most every week and his last was no exception (just too far back to do more damage) - should be closer to
the action here, and may be able to use his good move for a victory - possibility. (1) RB seemed to tail off
for a couple of starts but rattled off a sharp win (over cheaper) 2 back and seemed to build off that last week
when a close up 3rd - has speed from the pole, and a good trip puts him right back in the mix. (5) TWIN B
JAMMER wasn't bothered by the 3 weeks off when he went right to the top in NJ last week, scoring the
victory in his first start for new connections - should fit nicely with the locals, and looms a real threat in his
YR debut. (3) HUNTANOVER rallied nicely last start (across the river) to come up 2nd best to #5 - had no
chance the last time he was here (8 hole), but seems like he could be right there tonight, if the trip goes his
way. (4) BETTOR ROLL ON A has been a bit below the better ones in this class every start and figures to
be in that same boat tonight. (8) BUCHANNON HANOVER has gone some respectable tries in this class
but figures to be too far back to have much say tonight. (7) BARRYWHITE HANOVER has done some
great recent works vs. the 15s....but may find this group a little more than he can handle.
RACE 8 - (2) ROCKATHON can be wildly inconsistent but he picks up his share of wins every year and
he drops down to the level he beat on 2/14 - Brennan knows him well, and maybe they can control the
action tonight - worth a shot at that 6-1 ML price. (5) BENHOPE RULZ N dropped down to this level and
was 2nd behind the standout winner last week - his previous effort in this class was a victory (1/24) and he's
a very logical player for tonight - pretty short ML price, though. (4) DEAL THE CARDS has only 32
career starts (at age 6) but that didn't stop his current connections from recently purchasing him - was off to
a rocky start but that last effort in NJ was much better, and he may be ready for a winning effort - certainly
one to consider. (3) REAL PEACE has been solid recently across the river, hitting board in 3 of his last 4 -
he faces tougher here, but still seems very playable in exotics. (7) BRAEVIEW BONDI A has lots of back
class but his only RECENT victory came vs. cheaper - not sure he's sharp enough right now to overcome
the bad draw. (1) IMSTAYNALIVE was definitely short in his first start off the layoff - drops and draws the
pole, but he may need another before we see his best - tough call. (6) DEETZY has been racing ok in all his
recent starts but probably needs a better post (and maybe a drop) before we see his best. (8) B LIKE
CRUISER seems damned if he leaves and damned if he doesn't from all the way out here.
RACE 9 - (7) LOORIM LAKE A was well supported in multiple pools from Post 8 two back but broke
before the start - undeterred, the public sent him off at 2/5 last week and was rewarded with a solid front
end score - Bartlett takes him tonight over his best client (#6), and if HE'S that confident in his chances
then we'll stay on board too. (3) FEELIN WESTERN was moved back last week to a barn that did very
well with him in the past and just seemed to find his best stride too late - he could be sharper tonight, and
should end up being a fair price. (1) SETH HANOVER will surely attract attention with both the class drop
and the rail - he figures to be a close up player all the way, but he'll need to be a little stronger at the end
than he has been if he hopes to threaten for the top slot. (4) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N is one of many
horses that seemed to go into orbit upon joining last year's leading barn...only to fall apart after they left -
he did have a promising effort 2 back, and a return to that form might put him in the hunt here - consider at
a good price? (2) ROCKAPELO was an "ok" 2nd off the qualifier last week, though no threat at all to the
winner - he has a ton of back class, and a big effort can never be counted out. (5) THE REAL ONE has
been "ok" lately, but the mega-classy 13YO will need to find an even better effort to be a serious late threat
against a few of these. (6) MOONLIGHT SHADOW was sent off at 3/5 last week primarily based on his
move to our leading barn- couldn't last on the lead, and gets a tough draw for tonight - at least the price will
be a lot better for those inclined to give him another shot. (8) FOREVER FAV seems to finish well every
week, but he'll be coming from WAY out of it tonight.
RACE 10 - (1) TWIN B HEART THROB has 2 wins from 8 starts this year but also raced big in the 4
starts where he finished 2nd - he's been razor sharp for weeks, and deserves top billing from the pole. (2)
MACH N CHEESE perked up 2 back to be a very close 2nd, then kicked home full of pace from a tough
spot in his last - should be a dangerous player tonight too. (5) VELOCITY KOMODO is very comfortable
at this level but his trip tonight is a little hard to predict - a live journey would put him in play for a good
piece, at a decent price. (7) ALEX TYE has been sharp all year, though some bad posts/trips have kept him
from compiling a better record - faces another tough road tonight, but remains a great bomb to use on the
bottom of exotics. (4) SHINE A LIGHT was well backed shipping in from NJ last week but was just an
"ok" 3rd - he's definitely capable of better, but there just seems to be better value with a few others tonight.
(3) TIME TO DANCE went on a nice roll after arriving in poor form from PA but does seem to have
leveled off lately, and his last was pretty weak - needs a quick wake up call to be a serious player here. (8)
SHADOW CAT gets stuck outside again and may need to wait for a better spot before we see his best. (6)
ESCAPETOTHEBEACH lands a tough draw and is another that may need to wait for a better scenario.
