RACE 1 - (5) FEARFUL INTENT could be worth a play in here - he's very sharp, and his price will be
inflated somewhat due to the presence of #1 - assuming Buter races him aggressively, maybe he can beat
his classy rival? (1) THIS IS THE PLAN had only ONE win all year coming into last week but he had no
trouble handling the NW10000 field after moving to the lead - obviously the TRIPLE millionaire is still at a
level way below what he's used to, but he's also lost a bit off his fastball...maybe a bit vulnerable tonight?
(4) CAUGHTINALANDSLIDE was stuck in a few terrible spots but found a better trip last week and was
right there 2nd- another live trip could help him grab another decent share (3) TALBOTCREEKWHISKEY
hasn't raced a lot in the past 2 seasons but he's good right now, and picked up a 3rd (behind #1) last week -
another easy trip may help him garner another small slice. (6) IGNATIUS A is more than good enough to
contend with these but his pilot tends to keep him too far back when he draws outside - may happen again
tonight. (2) VILLIAM raced well out of town each of the last 2 years but hasn't had a ton of local success in
the past - the good draw does help, though. (7) NVRPOPTDAPLUGS was "sneaky ok" from an impossible
spot last week...unfortunately, he draws horribly once again.
RACE 2 - (4) SHOTGUN PERSUASION was very sharp in that DH win 2 back, then very sharp again last
week, carving out a hot clip before proving no match for a mare debuting for our leading trainer - earns top
billing tonight. (1) LITTLEBEARCAT was able to win last week's "fall apart" race, rallying by weak and
tired foes into a :30.4 final quarter - she does credit for winning from well back, but note that she was no
match for the top choice under similar circumstances 2 back. (2) BETTORSHIGHLIGHT N was a surprise
winner 2 back but proved it wasn't a fluke with last week's very good 8 hole try - moves inside, and could
have another big say tonight. (3) HARMONY OF NOTES may deserve another chance as her first try at
this reduced level resulted in a bad shuffle....but on the flip side, she's shown virtually nothing other than
that bizarre win (at 3/5!) sandwiched between all the other blank efforts. (6) WILDCAT ANTONIA really
shouldn't have lost 2 back, then struggled with the first over trip last week - won't get any easier starting
from Post 6 tonight. (5) PRAY THE ROSARY had no excuse to NOT win her last (the way the race played
out) - may be able to rally for a small slice tonight.
RACE 3 - (2) HP XANADU tasted defeat for the first time since the claim last week, coming up 2nd best
to the tripsitter- she had won 4 straight prior to that, while doubling in value and establishing a new lifetime
mark....deserves a chance to make amends, but has at least shown that she CAN be beaten. (4) GOLDEN
QUEST N was no factor (Post 7) off the claim but has turned in a pair of sharp tries since then - drops back
in for a tag, and the right trip could make her a threat. (1) SALE EL SOL was really hurt by poor cover last
week, still rallying in the lane to be a close 3rd - she generally has a say almost every week, and tonight
should be no exception. (5) HEAVENISSOFARAWAY goes back to Brennan and in their last 4 starts
together, she has a win, two 2nds and a 3rd - good value horse to use in exotics. (3) MC ANGEL uses her
speed to get in the hunt every week, but stamina isn't her strong suit - definitely a chance to outrace her
20-1 ML price, though. (6) IDEALINFUN hasn't clicked in 2 starts since dropping in for a tag - tough draw
has us leaning elsewhere. (7) ACEFOURTYFOUR ALEX will struggle to get in the mix from out here.
RACE 4 - (1) BUDDY HILL was much sharper in his last pair than the lines might suggest - assuming
Siegelman realizes this, it would be a great spot for him to race aggressively and allow this guy's back class
to surface - good week to take a shot with him. (3) KING JAMES EXPRESS freshened up, returned on
Lasix and has been racing very well in his 3 starts since then - a decent trip puts him right in the mix here.
(4) KOMODO BEACH earned $213K last year and while he certainly hasn't been "bad" in 2023, he has
just one win from 17 starts - hard to use on top at that 9/5 ML price, but definitely playable in exotics. (5)
SOHO LENNON A qualified back nicely after a brief freshening but does draw outside a few main rivals -
ok for underneath. (2) MAXIMUS RED A may be helped by the draw but he definitely prefers to be in
easier - maybe 3rd/4th? (6) KASHED UP is 1 for 4 here this year but that win came on the lead, vs. easier -
returns off a pair of PcD wins vs. much softer, and lands a poor draw for tonight - leaning towards others.
(7) TUFFENUFTOWEARPINK gets his 3rd straight horrible draw since returning from the layoff.
RACE 5 - (4) LADY NEWTON dropped in for a tag on 9/19, was handled conservatively but finished well
to the 3rd - was very well backed for her last, and her "brush and crush" victory was ultra-impressive -
faces a few live ones tonight, but we'll give her the edge off that last big mile. (2) TRAFALGAR was an
excellent 8 hole winner on 8/1, had some issue when claimed on 8/8 but returned sharp after re-qualifying,
delivering the dead game first over score last week - her price will finally come down, but she's still a very
legitimate threat. (5) BOLT OF BEAUTY just missed 2 back then took a tough loss in her last, used VERY
hard and still battling right to the wire -a similar effort makes her a player again tonight. (3) CALLMEQUE
ENBEE A got very good right after joining this barn - started to level off a bit but may be heading back in
the right direction now - consider if the price is right. (1) PURAMERI has a couple of recent wins in this
class and draws the pole tonight - she's usually a good price, and DOES have a chance if things go her way.
(7) ALWAYS B MIMI was 0 for 25 to start the year but instantly 3 for 3 after joining forces with our
leading trainer - could only manage a 4th bumping up to 50s in her last, and may be looking at another
smaller slice with another outside draw. (6) BETTER DOUBLE FLIP raced much better than expected
from a very tough spot last week - not quite sold on her off that one line, but will definitely keep an eye on
her tonight. (8) SHECOULDBEGOOD N will likely need to wait for a (much) better spot.
RACE 6 - (2) ELM GROVE QUIGLY has been good for the last 2 years in the Maritimes, compiling a
25-10-6-3 - despite all those wins, he still fits this NW2 class and now joins our leading barn (with our
leading driver at the lines) - hard NOT to go with him on top. (3) UNDER YOUR SCARS has taken 2 of
his 6 local starts, and the conditions of the race ("NW$31,709LT") have been re-written to squeeze him in -
we'll see if he can take advantage. (4) INSTANT REPLAY was able to work out a two hole trip from Post 7
last week (at even money) then came up 2nd best to the front end winner - figures to have a big say tonight,
as well. (1) MONEY EXCHANGE is a 2YO that really didn't click in his first 3 Canadian starts, but really
wasn't bad here last week (for a new barn) - we'll see if he can improve a bit more in his 2nd local try. (5)
BOOM TOWN BOY has been "sneaky ok" in his last couple- not a bad bomb for 3rd/4th. (6) ALWAYS B
NICKY had some success at Tioga but it's hard to say how he fits here - tough draw figures to hurt his
chances. (7) KNOCKIN OUT shipped in sharp from Fhd. and wasn't bad in his local debut- not quite as
sharp last week, however, and now moves from the rail to 7 hole. (8) BROOKVIEW DICE was hard to
gauge off his 3 local tries - changed hands, raced ok at Btva., but lands a brutal spot returning to YR.
RACE 7 - (1) SWEET SANDY LOU found herself trying to rally from way out of it in both starts at this
level - she did finish well both times, and figures to be pretty dangerous moving all the way inside. (2) PLE
ASURE SEEKER is a good fit with these but is a bit iffy coming into tonight after missing 3 weeks (scr.
injured) - make sure to get a decent price if looking to try her on top here. (3) TUAPEKA JESSIE N was
"ok" shipping in last week but wins if sharper - she's eligible to be tighter tonight, and does have a shot
against these. (6) TRULY is hard to gauge off her 2 local starts but she does get Bartlett tonight, figures to
be a good price, and probably is worth a look. (4) SHORTYS GIRL is 1 for 21 this year and 0 for 18 for her
Yonkers career...but a good trip could at least earn her a piece. (5) DIAMONDTOOTHGERTIE was good
for Holland a few starts back but her form has slipped since then - not sure she's ready to be a player right
now. (7) CARBON CIDER shows Btva. lines that would make her a decent fit here, but she draws horribly
after missing 3 weeks - prefer to just watch her this start.
RACE 8 - (5) LAYTON HANOVER finished with plenty of pace last week, but from too far back - he's
won 5 of 11 local starts, and Kakaley should be able to handle him more aggressively tonight- gets the
narrow vote in a field with several contenders. (3) HAZEVILLE has no shortage of talent but he's very
"quirky", and never races quite the same way from week to week- always willing to give him a look if the
price is right. (4) RED RIGHT HAND wasn't "good" last week, but he was "ok" off the class drop - a better
trip could make him a bigger threat tonight, although try not to hop on board if he ends up overbet. (1) BEN
HOPE RULZ N has been very consistent for a while now, and can grab a good trip after drawing the pole -
may be at his upper limit class-wise, however. (2) VENIER HANOVER is capable of throwing HUGE
miles at any time...but he's off 4 weeks, and hard to really back with any confidence tonight. (6) REAL PE
ACE came back to life vs. 25s three back then beat the 40s in his next - no factor in his last, however, and
not a great draw for tonight. (7) YOROKOBI N was 2nd in his last 3 starts but he's up in class and likely
coming from well out of it tonight - not sure he can get close enough to threaten. (8) WINDSUN RICKY
can be a player with this kind on his best game, but it's unlikely we'll see that from out here.
RACE 9 - (7) ROCK THE BELLES was a winner immediately upon joining the Dynamic Duo on 8/29
then won the following week (vs. a much better field as well) - landed in a tough spot the following week
but was right there again in his last, possibly a winner if not totally shut off in the stretch - good value play
in the finale. (4) HUNTING ZONE was off a bad date to his last but still raced well, despite a shuffle -
could bring a good one tonight...at a decent price. (3) COACHES CORNER was the Indiana Fair Champ
and was able to take his local debut last week, despite racing off a month (now with our leading trainer)
would certainly be no surprise if he made it 2 in a row. (5) CENTURY INSPECTOR has only one win this
year but races well every week, and is a good fit with these - include in exotics. (2) LAZ did a nice job
moving up in class last week, finishing 2nd to #3- another contender for a good chunk of this. (1) JOHNNY
SACK has a couple of good starts here this year but he has just one race in the last 6 weeks and that could
put him at a disadvantage tonight. (6) RAYRAY returns off some nice Tioga efforts but was struggling at
this level when last seen here in August. (8) SILK ROAD is the outsider....literally and figuratively.
