RACE 1 - (4) JK STANDINGOVATION has 3 recent starts in this class but drew Post 7 each time (and
was left with no chance) - much better draw tonight, and Bongiorno will almost certainly have him in play -
good week to give him a shot. (2) COALITION HANOVER had a rough couple of weeks (broken equip.
followed by a tough trip) but showed up in a big way for (another) new barn in his last, toughing out a
game first over win over a sharp STELLAR YANKEE - major threat to repeat. (3) CAVIART SARGENT
wasn't at his best last week but had a pair of nice tries right before that - goes for a new barn tonight, and
we'll see if he can bounce back with a sharper mile. (1) COPPER TEEN had a solid 2022 season for our
leading barn but came up weak here on 3/27 in his seasonal return - re-qualified at Chester and while he
MAY be ready to deliver his best now, he seems a little risky at that 2-1 ML price. (7) STELLAR YANKEE
is feeling mighty good right now and Dube knows how to push his buttons - he also faces the possibility of
a pretty tough trip from out here, so insist on a good price if trying him on top. (5) JIM BLUE was a bit
better last week, but probably got 3rd only thanks to the easy trip - still leaning towards others. (6) SHIP
WRECK BEACH K wasn't close in his last pair and draws poorly for tonight.
RACE 2 - (2) KELE KELE took a few preps to get ready for her 4YO campaign but she rallied nicely in
her (NJ) seasonal debut, and was able to score in her first local start of the year (collaring HUNTRESS in a
two horse battle to the wire) - has that same foe to beat tonight...and gets the narrow edge. (1) HUNTRESS
was just an absolute winning machine in Iowa and has enjoyed success locally as well, compiling a 6-4-2-0
record since arriving last year - couldn't quite hold off the top choice last week, and we'll see if she can turn
the table on her tonight. (3) CLEAR THE WAY went her best effort in a while when 2nd two back, then
paced home steadily for 4th last week - chance to just tow along behind the top pair for the show spot. (6)
SILK CLOUD A makes her U.S. debut tonight and has shown some ability Down Under - guessing she'll
be handled conservatively from this spot, but it would hardly be a shock if she was able to win right off the
bench. (5) SOMESWEETSOMEWHERE offered some mild late pace to finish a well beaten 3rd behind the
top pair last week - certainly a chance she can do something similar tonight. (4) MCNATURAL L roared
home to beat the 50s in her YR debut but her last 2 weren't nearly as good - which version tonight?
RACE 3 - (4) IM THE MUSCLE gave it a big try first over last week, just missing to the talented front
runner - drops down to the level he wired in 1:55 on 2/15, and feels like the one to beat tonight. (1) LOOK
IN MY EYES hasn't been a threat in some time, but has also been dealing with bad posts, and also racing
well over his head - he actually beat better back in February, and this is a good spot for an aggressive try -
consider. (3) EMPEREURTHEBEST FR rallied very nicely vs. better in PA 3 back (to be 2nd), had trot vs.
the 50s here the next week (from an impossible spot), but lost all chance last week after an early miscue -
could be a decent value horse to consider, assuming he minds his manners. (2) LOS BALLYKEELAMIGO
drops out of the Brennan Series, draws inside and Boyd choices off a couple of others to drive him - worth
a look if the price is right. (5) OH BOY shows a mixed bag of efforts since arriving here in March - he can
probably be a threat on his best effort, but you'd want a good price to try him on top. (6) DOUBLE DEALI
NG has been racing pretty well in NJ but may be a little bit cheaper, and also lands a very tough post- small
piece? (8) BAZILLIONAIRE never wins and draws Post 8 - he's never a bad bomb to throw in for 3rd/4th,
though. (7) BACKSTREET PLAYER was a steady performer here in 2022, though vs. "NWPM" types -
faces older in his YR return and also draws horribly - we'll wait for a better spot.
RACE 4 - (4) D P ROCKET was struggling in most of her recent starts at The Meadows - she was off 3
weeks to her last but was nevertheless hammered down to 6/5, and buried the field - she was used to facing
much better when here at YR in the past, and anything resembling that last PA effort would likely beat
these. (3) DOWN THE PIKE MIKE had a brief rough patch recently but was much better in his last pair
(3rd, and 2nd) - should be a solid player once more. (1) BIZET earned over $100K last year but a recent
dry spell now lands him all the way at the bottom level - hard to just dismiss from this spot but he'll be a
short price and is definitely way off form - could be vulnerable! (5) YES hasn't looked great lately but he
would have been listed higher up had Stratton not opted off to drive longshot TESLA SEELSTER - feels
like a bad signal. (6) TORKIL hasn't been better than 3rd in his 11 starts this year and tonight's poor draw
figures to keep that streak alive. (2) TESLA SEELSTER was Stratton's choice (over #5) but she just hasn't
been good in some time, and is hard to endorse right now. (8) MYCROWNMYKINGDOM was a "meh"
3rd dropping to this class last week and now draws Post 8 - he's just 1 for 18 here at Yonkers, and seems
destined to be battling for only a minor piece tonight. (7) LIMERENCE was scratched in back to back
starts last August and is just now returning - we'll just observe, for now.
RACE 5 - (3) WILLY WALTON was banging heads at the top level not long ago but then started throwing
a series of terrible efforts - he took a month off and qualified nicely at Freehold, followed by a blowout win
an Amateur event - if whatever was bugging him has been addressed, he could be mighty tough against
these. (7) GAELIHILL raced big in his first 2 local starts (against much better than these), but broke two
back then didn't fire last week - if he shows up on his better game tonight he'll be a serious threat...even
from Post 7. (1) FULL RIGHTS figures to use his speed for an up close trip from this spot - no reason he
can't tow along for a decent piece. (2) THE LAST CHAPTER is listed at 8-1 ML but figures to be bet down
lower than that with the class drop and good draw - he doesn't win nearly enough to endorse on top, but he
could definitely race well enough to at least land somewhere in the exotics. (4) CIEL BLUE landed on a
perfect trip last week and that led to his 20-1 upset - faces better now, but the right trip may help him rally
for a small piece. (5) STARLIT RAMBO's local efforts this year have been mixed at best, but he did come
up with a very nice win at Chester 2 back - mixed feelings about his chances for tonight. (8) HUNTING AS
was our choice last week but he was eliminated with that break before the start - he certainly fits well here
too, but also figures to be handled pretty conservatively with Post 8 off that miscue. (6) INFINITY STONE
has behaved in back to back starts since adding hopples, including last week's win over cheaper - not
convinced he can be as effective against these (from Post 6), but we'll find out tonight.
RACE 6 - (4) HURRIKANE LADY LOU rallied very nicely for 2nd here in here career debut on 3/29 -
she won her next at Pocono, but found herself a little overmatched in the Weiss Series after that (though she
did give it a good speed try in the first leg) - we'll give her top billing against this more modest group. (1)
HALLELUJAH HANOVER looked like a very live player for her '23 debut, MacDonald stuck around for
Race 11 to drive her but she just stopped to the final turn while 2nd over - the fact that she's right back in
the box suggests it might have been a minor issue, and she MAY be ready for a much better effort tonight.
(2) PAPI LLION finished up ok in both local starts for small pieces - draws inside, and may be able to do a
little bit better from this spot. (6) CHEESEY LADY was 2nd in her two local tries and (5) DINNER AND
DANCING finished right behind her in 3rd both weeks - either could land on the ticket somewhere,
depending on the trip. (3) PERFECT BLOOM has been slow to find her form at 3 but seems capable of
better - she drops from the Weiss Series, and we'll see if she can have better luck with this crew. (7) ROLL
WITH SANDY wasn't terrible last week but seems unlikely to get involved from Post 7. (8) PEMBROKE
SOUTHIE failed to get close in her first local start (4/5) and seems destined for the same from out here.
RACE 7 - John Brennan Trotting Series Consolation - $35,000: (5) WHAT SHOULD I GOO raced hard 5
days before the first leg of the series and it seemed to hurt her effort that week - she was much better the
next 2 weeks, finishing 2nd both times behind that talented ARMSTEAD COLE - the only mare in the field
has a very real chance to knock off the boys here. (3) TACHYON has had a frustrating season, combining
some really sharp miles with an assortment of miscues - he addled hopples last week and while it wasn't his
best effort, he had a tough trip and did stay trotting - worth including in exotics tonight as the price should
be pretty decent. (2) TORRONE was a disappointing 4th off a pocket trip 4 starts back but other than that,
has hit board in all his other local tries (including a pair of close 2nds and a 3rd in the Series legs) - starts
from the pole, and should be a close up player all the way. (4) SHARE THE WEALTH was a little short in
the lane when 3rd behind a pair of good ones last week but just missed in his first 2 series legs - can grab a
nice piece here if the trip goes his way (1A) MUSCLE DOVER feels like he's starting to sharpen but the
knocks are that he draws poorly AND he would be a lot bigger price if not coupled with (1) C YOU
AGAIN DK. The latter was a first leg winner but weakened in his next then broke in his last - feels a little
risky at the moment. (6) CANTSTOP YANKEE got too hot in Week 1 and tired (then broke) after cutting
the mile - was more relaxed in his next, and delivered a very game first over victory - he wasn't able to
sustain his bid after another first over trip last week and while we could easily forgive him for that, it's
tonight's draw that is more concerning. (8) BRAVE BY DESIGN is winless in 6 YR starts, and starts from
Post 8 - tough task.
RACE 8 - John Brennan Trotting Series Final - $100,000: (3) PAPARDELLE has won 5 of 6 Yonkers
starts, the lone "blemish" coming when he finished 2nd in the first leg of this series (it was his first start of
2023 and he was handled conservatively that night) - his last 2 wins were effortless and though he does face
a very strong field tonight, he's still the one to knock off in the Final. (6) ARMSTEAD COLE roared home
for 2nd in the first leg and like the top choice, took his next 2 starts with ease - he's at a post disadvantage
for sure, but worth considering if the price creeps up high enough. (4) UNEVERGONNAGETTHIS came
into the first leg having been away for over 4 months but still went a BIG first over try for 2nd - was parked
a long way for the lead in Leg #2 and still was able to prevail gamely...last week he made a break at the
start, recovered, and was full of trot at the end to still finish 3rd....at 12-1 ML, he's worth considering for
exotics. (2) HOOLIE N HECTOR has been sharp all year so it was no surprise to see him pick up victories
in his first 2 legs - with a spot in the Final already locked up he was handled very conservatively last week,
trapped in through the lane while full of trot - he MAY be a notch below a couple of the top ones but if he's
a big price, don't think twice about using on your tickets. (5) P L OSCAR has been solid all year, even
holding his own in the Open a few times - he picked up 2 wins and a 3rd in the series and the fact that he's
still listed this far down is a great indicator of just how strong this field is. (7) OUTSIDE THE FIRE brings
an impressive 13-7-3-2 Yonkers slate into this, but he was no match for the top choice 2 back and tired a bit
after cutting the mile last week - the draw puts him at a major disadvantage here. (1) SPICY NUGGET has
done some good work, draws the pole for top shelf connections but just seems a bit below a few of these.
(8) SWAN FLYER is 6-4-0-2 at The Hilltop, but faces a monumental task starting from Post 8!.
RACE 9 - (2) ZIG ZAG hit board in all 4 starts this year including a win at this level 2 back - there are a
few in here that are sure to attract some $$ so the price on this guy should be pretty decent - good value
play in a competitive finale. (5) ALL CHAMPY dropped back down to his favorite level last week and
went his typically sharp mile, coming up 2nd best to a horse that had a big head start on him - he seems to
thrive for ANY barn, with any trip, and would be very hard to leave off your tickets. (3) VALI HANOVER
had a form reversing victory at this level on 3/29 before a trio of even efforts in the Brennan Series - drops
back in for a tag tonight, and is a logical one to include in exotics. (1) LINDSEYS PRIDE hit board in 5 of
6 since being claimed but has only one win, and sometimes struggles at the end of the mile - prefer to use
him underneath. (7) IN MY DREAMS beat this class 2 back and could have been closer last week had he
not been trapped for most of the stretch - he goes for a new barn tonight, and that 20-1 ML price makes him
worth at least a look. (4) AFTER ALL PAUL seems to make some noise almost every week, but usually
just for smaller pieces - likely more of the same tonight. (8) P C FREE WHEELING is a very solid player
at this level and does win her share of races - may have a rough night starting from all the way out here,
though. (6) LUCKY WEEKEND has been very steady lately, but may be too far back to have any impact
tonight.
