The Empire Report - Wednesday, December 6, 2023 - Race Analysis

RACE 1 - (6) MINT CONDITION seems to be getting sharper late in her 2YO season and made her local

debut last week a winning one (though the large margin was helped by a pretty weak field) - faces an

overall soft bunch tonight as well, and seems capable of making it 2 in a row. (5) C DIDDYS GAL would

be hard to like off her out of town form but she debuts tonight for a barn that has repeatedly improved fresh

stock dramatically the last few years....look for a much better effort tonight. (8) JAVA raced very well in her

first 3 local starts but must have had some issue last week (she just started gapping to the half, and never

really was able to fully recover) - if she shrugs that off and shows up back on her best game, she can be in

the hunt, even from out here. (2) PINE BUSH MAGA is now 0 for 23 but maybe slightly better lately -

inside draw and Yannick give her a chance for a small piece. (4) URSULA BLUE CHIP is 0 for 15 to start

her career but still may be better than a few of these. (3) CHILLED PROSECCO wasn't "good" in her last

pair, but she wasn't as bad as in her first few local starts - maybe minor spoils? (7) J M SPEAK EASY

picked up no factor 4ths in her first 2 YR starts but finished way back last week- 7 hole tonight. (1) TRISH

SPEAKER missed 9 months, made one start then was scratched sick - will just observe, for now.

RACE 2 - (5) PLEASELETMEKNOW rallied sharply for 3rd three back then beat this class the last 2

weeks - he's been away since 11/15, but that's the last time this class raced...gets the call for the threepeat in

this compact field. (3) GREG THE LEG has come up 2nd best 3 of the last 4 weeks, while winning the

other - he's been super all year, and should be able to have a big say tonight as well. (2) SOUTHWIND PE

TYR got sharp instantly upon joining this high % outfit and he's now banked $213K this year - he MAY be

just a tad off his top form. but he still remains one to fear most every week. (1) RED RIGHT HAND was in

tough spots 2 and 3 back then made a miscue on the final turn last week, possibly a bit jammed up - may be

handled a bit conservatively tonight after that break last week. (4) SPORTY M THREE went on a sizzling

roll recently but then tailed off in his last few - always a chance he can perk up with a big one.

RACE 3 - Good race: (2) YOU GOT IT got nipped at the wire (by #5) last week and that left him at 0 for

18 on the year - despite that record, he's actually been racing very well lately, and is just a good trip away

from getting over the hump - maybe tonight? (4) TIPSY MONI had a strong 3YO campaign so when she

was purchased by high profile owners (and sent to our leading trainer), she was promptly sent off at 1/20

last week - she got the job done, but wasn't overly impressive...we'll see if she shows up sharper tonight. (1)

ENOLA has a win and a couple of 3rds since being acquired by the nation's leading barn but has really just

been "ok" - it feels like she should have more to give....maybe tonight? (5) DIAMANTE TRIO IT has 3

wins (all good prices) from her last 5 starts, and hit board in the other two - hard to leave her off your

tickets at this point! (6) DEADLINE HALL shipped in sharp from NJ, was bet down to 4/5 but just didn't

bring his best effort - way too early to write him off. (3) CREDARENA had a couple of sharp 2nds but then

reverted to his lesser form last week - needs to rebound if he hopes to have any serious say with these. (7)

HAND OVER DAN does have ability, but has struggled to stay trotting all year - pass for now.

RACE 4 - (5) SANTANA HANOVER didn't embarrass himself finishing just behind ADAM TWELVE

(and BLUE HUNT) in his first 2 local starts then did the best he could from an impossible spot facing older

rivals last week - gets a better draw now, and that gives Bongiorno some more options - gets a narrow vote

in a pretty well matched field. (2) WALKINSHAW N finished crisply for 3rd last week and gets both post

and class relief for tonight - very logical threat, but that 8/5 ML price is a turn off. (3) INDICTABLE HAN

OVER was "meh" for quite a while but showing much better form in recent weeks - seems sharp enough to

be a player here as he moves up another notch. (4) WINDSUN RICKY can beat better than these when on

his game, but he's been stuck on smaller pieces lately - wouldn't shock, but would want a decent price to try

him on top tonight. (6) MY ULTIMATE BYRON A has some good starts since arriving but was hurt by

bad posts in his last pair and may be in the same predicament tonight. (1) ALEX TYE is probably best vs. a

bit cheaper but from the rail with Kakaley, may have a chance at a minor piece. (7) THE REAL ONE was

dull in his last and Post 7 won't make things any easier. (8) STELLAR YANKEE absolutely fits with these

but he's likely to be coming from last and that just isn't going to work here.

RACE 5 - (1) HERE WE GO BB is 2 for 2 since adding Lasix, winning here on 11/8 and then at Plainridge

3 weeks later - draws inside her main foes returning to YR and may be able to use that post edge to take

another. (5) CANNERY ROW added Lasix for her last and gave it a big 8 hole try, just missing to heavily

favored HUNTING LINDY - much more favorable spot tonight, and a chance to come out on top. (4) DON

TKARENIFIDO had won 4 of her 5 local starts so it was a bit of a surprise to see her hanging late last

week with a chance to win another - logical threat once more, but may not get the best of trips from this

spot. (8) HUNTING LINDY almost broke in the pocket 2 back but was able to smooth out and rallied by in

the stretch to win it - got to cut the mile last week and prevailed once more (over #5), but may have a

tougher time tonight with the move all the way outside. (6) DEVILISH DREAMS had been holding form

nicely since the recent barn change but made a break before the start last week, then was bothered on the

final turn while in the midst of a pretty nice recovery - decent value horse for exotics. (2) BLANK CHEEK

has been limited to minor shares in her 4 local starts and will need to find more to be a bigger player. (7)

TARGARYEN EMPRESS feels off her game right now and gets stuck with Post 7. (3) DEWITT THIS

MOMENT failed to function in her local debut - pass for now.

RACE 6 - (3) EXTREME Z TAM may be worth a stab in here - she'll likely sit back and look to rally late

but in a race where there MAY be some action, perhaps this is a spot where she can make her late kick pay

off....at a decent price. (2) TWIN B ALLURE won her first 2 starts after moving to the Dynamic Duo (no

surprise there) and may very well have made it 3 for 3 if not bothered by a breaker to the top of the lane last

week - live player once more. (1) BIG BIG PLANS figures to fit well with the locals arriving from NJ but

note that after a 4 win, $200K season at 2 she was winless this year in her 19 starts (mostly in Canada, but

including her last 3 in NJ, after the barn change) - seems a little risky for that 8/5 ML price. (6) FAVORITE

BEACH banked nearly $100K up North this year but it's hard to gauge her readiness for her new barn off

those qualifiers - perhaps the tote board will offer some clues? (8) AVF CLAIRE absolutely has the ability

to beat these but she took no $$ and didn't even pretend to be interested in her local debut, and may be in

the same situation starting from Post 8 tonight. (4) ANNELIESE HANOVER has reversed form a couple of

times this year and last week was one of them - don't think she'll be catching this bunch off guard, however.

(5) FRONDEUR was already tired last week before being bothered last week, although that was off a bad

date - eligible to be sharper tonight, and maybe grab a minor share? (7) HUNTRESSVILLE A was

inconsistent here at YR and seemingly been the same way out of town - tough spot, regardless.

RACE 7 - (5) VIVA LAS VEGAS N can hold his own with (and even beat) much better than these - he's

also not the handiest horse on the planet, and there's no guarantee than he'll be in a good spot when they

turn for home - he deserves top billing...but he's not the type to bet the rent money on at a short price. (3)

PRETTY HANDSOME landed in a very easy spot last week and had no trouble dominating on the front

end - he moves a peg tonight, but this is an (overall) weaker bunch as well - legitimate chance to repeat. (1)

MEMPHISTENNESSEE N was invisible in his last 2 Monti starts but he did take $$ off the bottom of his

card and his quick return to YR suggests that may have been the primary motivation - he may turn in a

much better effort tonight....maybe even grab a piece. (2) SOUTHBEACH HANOVER has been no better

than 4th in his last 5 local starts but he does get some class relief tonight - we'll see if that perks him up a

bit. (6) GINGRAS BEACH is hard to like "on paper" but his barn has come to life over the past 2 weeks

and this guy may be a good one to include in exotics. (8) MAURIES BONUS A is one of several from this

barn that just seems to draw more than his share of bad posts - maybe he can rally late for a minor slice? (4)

WAR DAN DELIGHT N has been off his game- not sure the class drop will turn things around for him. (7)

STATEMENT MADE A has been way off from for a while - waiting for better signs before considering.

RACE 8 - (4) TOMBSTONE has been very solid since arriving 5 starts back and that last start was very

good (first over vs. the favored front runner and a dead game 2nd best) - we'll give him the edge tonight. (5)

MISTER LEWIS shipped in with a less than stellar 14-1-0-0 record out of town but he was well backed for

his new barn and was a sharp wire to wire winner - has to be respected, even with the class jump. (2) BEA

CON BEACH wasn't at his best last week, but the bad date may have played a role - capable with these

with a good trip. (7) HOLD ME CLOSER shows a couple of nice recent wins but ships in off a break at

Fhd. and draws poorly as well- demand a good price if trying him on top tonight (8) CASSIUS HANOVER

has Canadian form that suggests he'll be a good fit here but he's off a bad date and starts from Post 8 - may

not be wound all that tightly for tonight. (3) FIVE FISH SPECIES hit board in her first 11 local starts but

failed to do so in her last 3, and is listed as the ML favorite - better value elsewhere. (1) WISTERIA HANO

VER can throw a good one at times but her disappointing efforts far outweigh the sharp ones. (6) STRONG

ERWITHLINDY outaced his odds last start but was scr. sick from his next - tough draw for his return.

RACE 9 - (7) MARINER SEELSTER seemed like a longshot to reach the $1M in career earnings mark but

the 14YO has now won 4 in a row and (6 of his last 8) and is only $12,252 short of that milestone - would

love to see the classy senior get there before his career ends on 12/31, and we'll try him on top (even if this

is a much tougher spot than he's been in lately). (3) TOATSMYGOATS picked up a win at Monti last start,

and a couple of his barnmates have won here already this week - very real threat. (4) CAMPORA N sat last

behind a very slow pace last time but still finished full of pace - good bomb to try to get into the exotics

somewhere. (1) HEEZ OUPERSEUS N shows a new trainer listed 2 back and won both Plainridge starts

since then - deserves respect shipping in (drawing inside with Gingras) but note that he was 0 for 14 here

earlier this year. (6) THE BEST TYME EVER has been a very solid player at this level the last few weeks

but tonight's poor draw may leave him looking at a bit smaller slice. (8) BORN UNORDINARY shows

lines out of town that could put him in the mix with these...but maybe not from Post 8. (5) KIMANI N hails

from a barn that's had a tough year here (35-0-1-1) - hard to like his chances. (2) LETTUCERIPTITA A is

struggling and lands in a (rare) solid $15K claiming division.

RACE 10 - (4) PRESTIGE SEELSTER lost his first 11 local starts but was very sharp in winning his last

pair - solid threat to extend that winning streak tonight. (2) PHOTOBOMBR HANOVER has been fairly

inconsistent but if he throws a mile like the one 3 back (wire to wire from Post 9 at The Swamp) he can be

a big player tonight. (1) ROAN COLOR has been a "chronic disappointer", often well backed without the

results to justify the short prices - that being said, a conservative steer from this spot could land him a

decent piece tonight. (7) SMOKIN BY N shipped in with some ugly looking form but a return to his

favorite barn perked him right up, leading to the 10-1 upset - may have a tougher time replicating that effort

from Post 7, however. (3) MERITO HANOVER disappointed in his first 2 local tries - we'll see if the class

drop helps him find a better effort. (6) GOLDEN GESTURE was close 2 back with an easy trip in a "fall

apart race" but his other 2 local starts have been lacking - not sure the drop to 20s will be the answer. (8)

IM J BEE N used an easy trip to grab a 3rd last week but doesn't figure to be as fortunate from out here. (5)

LEAVE AND ROLL had no pop in his last few - leaning towards others at the moment.
