The Empire Report - Wednesday, July 28, 2021 - Race Analysis

RACE 1 - (4) DELITFULCATHERIN N won her U.S. debut as the 1/5 choice, then jogged the next week

as 5 cents on the dollar - stays in the same class for another week, and the same result is expected...and the

same $2.10 price is likely too. (3) IDEAL HANNAH had some decent pace finishing last week after a pair

of no chance 8 holes prior to that - her barn only has ONE win this year, but this mare is the one who has it

-- maybe can add a little value to the exotics? (2) THUNDRA hinted at some ability earlier in her career but

never really developed - she's had some trouble at times here at YR (just 12-0-2-0), but she returns from PA

in decent form, gets a nice switch to Stratton, and may be able to pick up a good chunk here. (5) ROBMOT

ION BLUECHIP does good work when she can blast out to a good spot, sit a trip, and chase to the wire -

not sure that's possible from this spot, so make sure she's a decent price if using her in exotics. (1) AVAYA

HANOVER draws best but hasn't been sharp at all in her last few - needs to be better if she hopes to get a

piece of this. (6) KIANNA wasn't bad in her local debut but all her lines suggest she needs to be near the

lead to be effective...not sure she'll be able to leave from this spot.

RACE 2 - (5) ZAGSTER drops back down the level where he just picked up a close 2nd and 3rd, and

catches a pretty soft basement group tonight - won't be much value with that even money ML price, but he's

clearly the one to knock off. (2) WATKINS only throws a good one here and there as the 14YO's career

starts to wind down - maybe he can land on an easy trip from this spot, and pick up a decent piece. (1) LIO

NHEAD returns from PA where his form seems to have tailed off considerably - he's normally a good

"cheapie", so maybe if he can work out an easy pocket trip without being used too hard, he can last for a

nice share. (7) KAITLYN AND COKE raced "ok" here a couple of times earlier in the year but his current

form is definitely lacking - he will be a big price, and gets a pilot that just may look to leave for a trip - ok

bomb to throw in underneath. (6) TORKIL started to have a few good starts this spring but has really hit the

skids of late - in desperate need of a wake up call. (4) PETERS EXPRESS has never had much success at

YR, and his last couple don't exactly inspire confidence - sticking with others. (3) BINGO QUEEN has

been a solid performer here for all of her career, but the 12YO acts like she may not have too many big

miles left in her - waiting for any sign of life before endorsing again.

RACE 3 - (3) ARCANE SEELSTER was hopelessly parked from Post 7 in his local debut and gets a pass

for that - was claimed that night, gets a much better post now, and should be able to control the action for

his new connections...we'll give him a shot. (4) THEREISAPACEFORUS was also claimed last week after

an "ok" 2nd off a perfect trip - he's now owned by not one but TWO trainers, so we'll see if the pair of them

can get a big mile out of him in his first try. (1) ROLL WITH FRED should fit nicely here as he shows a

couple of recent wins over similar up at Monti - definitely one to include in exotics. (5) COACH CAL lit

up the tote board here 4 starts back as he swept the field from last in a race that just fell apart completely -

seems to have remained sharp enough for a shot at a small piece here. (6) MACHING TIME was claimed

for $20K on 6/11 - found himself down in 15s after a couple of starts and after picking up a 2nd and 3rd in

his last pair, he now finds himself in the bottom claiming class - will it be a "drop and pop", or a "drop and

flop"? (2) BIG SWEEP OSBORNE raced "ok" in his last couple - definitely prefer others, but the good

draw at least gives him a chance at a minor share. (8) FURIOUS BEACH is probably a decent fit with

these, but will need a lot to go his way in order to reach from Post 8. (7) DEERFIELD BEACH went a

better effort last week, but the move outside figures to compromise his chances significantly tonight.

RACE 4 - Evenly matched race: (1) SOCIETY JILL endured a nightmarish shuffle last week but somehow

was charging back at the end to be right there 3rd (then placed 2nd) - she put in a game first over try the

week before, and maybe she can work out the winning journey from the pole tonight. (4) FRENCH SHAK

ER rallied crisply from well back for 2nd last week, has been pretty solid in general lately, and her barn has

really come to life as well - definitely worth a look. (5) BEACHBLANKETLINDY is just 1 for 18 but she's

been 2nd or 3rd in 13 of those losses - almost seemed confused racing on the lead last week, so maybe she

can be a bit sharper tonight from off the pace- possibility. (3) MAJOR LOVER was no good at all for some

time but seems to at least be headed in the right direction now - drops back to NW2 from a NYSS try, and

may be able to have a big say tonight. (6) REACHTHRUTHESKY AS won a Buckeye Stallion Series race

2 back, and ships in from Ohio for strong connections - tough draw, but worth a look if the price is right.

(2) QUICK SIX has some valid excuses recently, but too many of these others are good right now - will

keep an eye for future consideration. (7) SOUTHWIND TALISA has a few good lines when on/near the

lead but that doesn't seem too likely from out here - sticking with others. (8) VALERYA STEEL has shown

no early speed in her 3 starts of 2021 and draws Post 8 in her Hilltop debut - will just observe for now

RACE 5 - (4) ON HIGHER GROUND earned his way up to the Open at The Meadows with a nice form

spree and just missed by a nose on 5/14 - leveled off a bit in his next few starts but certainly wasn't bad...

and his last try at Nfd. suggests he can get around the half just fine - gets top billing with the move to a top

local barn. (2) TRUMP THIS responded to the barn change 3 back with a big rally for 2nd - broke trying

for the lead from Post 8 in his next, then crushed 'em wire to wire in his last - lands in a hot barn for his

local debut, and deserves plenty of respect (1) WILLIE B WORTHY was 2nd at this level in his local debut

then decently in his next 3 starts, despite tough spots against better - drops, draws the pole, and figures to

be a close up player from start to finish. (3) FOMOR will attract plenty of attention off the class drop but

he's disappointed far more often than he's delivered - better value to be had with others. (8) EVITA would

normally be 100-1 from this spot shipping in with those lines...but she lands with the "Dynamic Duo", and

we've seen them turn seemingly hopeless horses around in the very first week - can't blame anybody that

wants to give her a shot. (5) SHARED INTEREST A picked up a pair of 2nds at this level after arriving at

YR - catches a few tough ones tonight, and may be looking at a much smaller piece. (6) TAX SAVINGS

hails from a very sharp barn, but hasn't really impressed here so far - Post 6 won't help, either. (7) UVA

HANOVER lands another bad post and figures to have a hard time getting in play tonight.

RACE 6 - (5) CHANEL BEACH should appreciate dropping back to this NW2 class after facing an

Excelsior A field last week - she shows a pair of recent (PcD) wins, and wasn't bad here on 6/30 when she

rallied for 3rd after a bad shuffle - good spot for an aggressive try. (4) EYES DONT LIE showed good

improvement in her mile 2 back, then put in a good move in her last before weakening late - seems to be on

the upswing, and could easily have a say tonight. (2) OCEANVIEW ECHO shipped down from Canada

and won her local debut on 5/26...but was unable to build off that mile and her efforts have been all over

the place since then - definitely a possibility, but also figures to be overbet. (1) SANTAFES MJ hasn't been

a threat so far in her 6 career starts but hasn't been terrible either - maybe she can find some improvement

tonight? (7) HURRIKANEMYSHANNON almost stole one on the lead 7/14 but was scratched sick from

her last, and draws Post 7 tonight - maybe a small piece? (6) UPTOWN CALLIE stopped badly from the

top of the lane after a brief bid in last - good to see her right back in the box, but not ready to jump back on

her team just yet. (3) LOUD BRAZILLIAN has been no factor in too many of her local tries to consider in

here. (8) DEL DIGGITY throws a good one at times, but seems unlikely to threaten from out here.

RACE 7 - (3) SOUND IDEA had some life finishing from an impossible spot 2 back then was a very good

3rd from Post 7 dropping to this class in her last - good spot to head right to the top tonight and never look

back. (1) FEAR MY SHADOW was off 3 weeks to her last and also had to deal with some stretch traffic -

drops right back in the box, and has a decent chance to work out a two hole trip tonight -- logical threat to

land in the exotics. (7) CORAL BELLA showed some life 2 back then built on that last week, scoring the

win off the nice trip - we've seen her blast from outside posts when she was sharp in the past - maybe she

can do that tonight? (5) ACEFOURTYFOUR ALEX hasn't been a threat for a while but the drop back

down to the bottom level should perk her up a bit - good one to include underneath. (6) ZOE ELLASEN

was a good 2nd two back but tired badly in last after being used hard early on - guessing she'll be handled

conservatively here, but still may be able to rally late for a small piece. (2) LOOKATMYART has some

uninspiring recent form but maybe the move inside will help keep her closer to the pace. (4) BETABCOOL

N beat cheaper at Stga. last week - maybe she'll return with enough confidence to pick up a small piece

tonight. (8) SWEET YOU is the outsider - both literally and figuratively

RACE 8 - (8) KINDA LUCKY LINDY had been well off top form lately but last week's effort was a big

step in the right direction - if Buter can just improve position a bit at the start, this guy will have a legit

chance to beat this crew....even from Post 8. (2) KING CAST has been racing "steadily" against better

every week - should appreciate this bit of class relief, and can have a bigger say tonight. (3) GREY goes

back to a catch driver this week and that should result in a sharper effort - her lone win here this year was

vs. cheaper, but she can hang with these too - certainly belongs in exotics. (4) HALO ITS ME never really

fully thrived for her current connections after being purchased out of Canada, and that includes a less than

stellar 6-0-1-0 local slate - did perform a bit better in some Delaware starts, so we'll see if she can improve

on her Yonkers form as she returns to the Hilltop. (5) BANK BOX TREASURE just missed in his local

debut on 6/9 - had some mixed results at PcD in his next few after that, but never fired at all in his YR

return last week - clearly he can be a threat on his best...but hard to say which version we'll see tonight. (6)

BROWNIE does his best work vs. easier, but may be able to rally late for a small piece if the trip works out

(1) MISS YOU KELLY broke going around a troubled horse in her last - gets a pass for that, but she needs

to be in cheaper (generally) to deliver her best. (7) SEVEN KNIGHTS just isn't sharp and lands outside.

RACE 9 - (7) NATASHA was a solid 4th off a LONG layoff, an even better 3rd the next week, then

delivered the powerful win in her last, with more aggressive handling - no luck with the draw tonight but

probably sharp enough to take another, despite Post 7. (4) ITZPAPALOTL has done good work so far at 2

and 3, starting her career off with a 16-5-4-0 record (which includes last week's Excelsior A blowout here

at Yonkers) - if she brings that same kind of effort tonight, she could give the top one a serious tussle. (2)

BREAK THE DEAL hasn't found the winner's circle yet at YR (10-0-2-1), but she shows several good

lines in NJ and PA recently, and can be a factor with these - include underneath. (1) WOODMERE HARR

IET was pretty good 2nd and 3 back but upped her game even more with last week's 3rd place finish -

chance for another small piece tonight. (5) ROLL ON MAMA had an eventful trip last week but had good

pace at several points - definitely could add some value to the exotics with some trip luck. (3) SPECIAL

ACHIEVER is just 1 for 20 locally, and was never in it returning from Monti last week - needs to be better.

(8) SOMEBEACHSOMEFRA was an opportunistic winner last week in a race that basically just fell apart -

don't see her getting nearly as lucky from this spot, though. (6) MY CAM GIRL has been in and out - we'll

wait until a catch driver is back in the bike before considering.

RACE 10 - (1) EURO GAP sat last with no chance from Post 8 last week but did finish up alertly - moves

all the way inside, definitely has the ability to go with these, and could be worth a play in a pretty wide

open race - not sure who's going to be driving, though! (6) MUFASAAS finished with good trot from a

tough spot in last after grabbing a 2nd and 3rd in his prior two starts - definitely a big chance to outperform

that 20-1 ML price. (5) KENOGAMI COCO was a little flat in his YR return but definitely not bad - a live

trip makes him a player tonight. (3) KASHA V landed on an absolute dream trip last week and knew what

to do with it - would be no surprise at all to see him repeat. (4) BLENHEIM returns from PA showing a few

pretty good recent efforts, but he's just 1 for 13 here over the last 2 years, and burned quite a bit of $$ along

the way - be careful about taking a short price with him. (2) WARRAWEE SHIPSHAPE never seems to

race the same way 2 weeks in a row - a bit too unpredictable for our tastes, but hardly impossible. (8)

WHETHER OR NOT FI was unable to get into the hunt from outside posts in his last pair and faces the

same roadblock tonight. (7) OUR WHITE KNIGHT doesn't seem all that sharp right now out of town, and

he's winless here (last 3 years) as well!

RACE 11 - (4) BILBO HANOVER was an excellent 2nd last week dropping down to the class he beat on

4/20 - catches a soft bunch tonight, and should look to take these wire to wire. (1) VASARI N didn't have a

great start last week then took too long to kick in through the stretch - seems like the main danger, but will

need to be a bit sharper. (2) WESTERN HILL finished up ok after following dullish cover last week - he's a

legitimate threat to grab a good piece from this spot, but that 9/5 ML price is ridiculous (he's 1 for 47 over

the last 2 years)! (7) TITANIUM N has just 1 win in 29 starts over the past 2 years but he can usually finish

ok when he does no racing - decent bomb for 3rd/4th. (5) SWEET TRUTH continues to disappoint on a

regular basis - he's capable of better, but it's hard to keep waiting to see it. (6) DOCTOR BUTCH just hasn't

thrown too many good efforts at Yonkers lately - outside draw doesn't help, either. (8) MACH TIME N

found the pocket last week but tired badly off the layoff - guessing he'll be handled conservatively from

Post 8 tonight. (3) BUNGALOW BILL N hasn't done a thing so far in 2021 (and 2020 wasn't too hot

either)!
