The Empire Report - Friday, June 10, 2022 - Race Analysis

RACE 1 - Tough opener! (3) P H KENNY has been a very steady player in this class, and had good pace

finishing last week after shaking free - he figures to be a pretty fair price tonight, and is one of several in

here that are worth considering. (4) CARRACCI HANOVER was much improved at Chester 2 back, and

really wasn't bad here last week (just an impossible spot) - figures to be put in play tonight by Bartlett, and

he picked up 3 wins here earlier this spring - possible! (5) HES GONE BADDER shows some mixed recent

form racing in amateur events across the river - he was right there vs. 20s not long ago (3/19, Pocono) and

at 12-1 ML, he's sure worth a look. (2) LETTUCERIPRITAA was able to get it done dropping from 20s to

12/5s two back, but was lucky just to hold 2nd after cutting the mile at this level last week - goes for a new

barn now, and MAY be a bit vulnerable at a short price (8) HERE COMES SWIFTY shipped in sharp from

Monti and delivered a powerful effort in last week's victory, overcoming a very tough trip to win it - faces

plenty of obstacles from Post 8, but still worth using if the price is right. (7) BOURBONS COURAGE has

only functioned for ONE outfit lately (our leading barn), but struggled mightily for everybody else - we'll

see how he does for another new crew tonight. (6) BLUEBERRY HEAVEN was reclaimed after a weak try

last start, and figures to be too far back to threaten tonight (needs a very hot pace to have any real chance).

(1) MCARDLES LIGHTNING was up the track twice in Feb. after returning from a layoff - went back on

the shelf, and now he's back to try it again - prefer to just watch, for now.

RACE 2 - (1) CINNABAR DRAGON shipped in on 4/30 and pulled off the 14-1 upset in this class - has

held his form very nicely since then, and looms a major threat with the rail draw. (5) LYONS LIBERTY

was claimed for $25K three back - just missed in 30s the next week, then was right there in 40s in his last -

sharp enough to take this...if the trip goes his way. (4) MAGRITTE has been away for 3 weeks but his barn

does well with these types (and pretty much EVERY type!) - very legitimate chance here, but that 8/5 ML

price makes him a bit unattractive for the top slot. (3) I GET THAT would look better in for $30K, but that

could be said for a lot of these - loves a trip, and becomes a late threat if he gets one. (2) ABERDEEN HA

NOVER has been pretty good for a while but he's definitely a question mark at this $40K level - he's also

very camera shy, so consider for a minor share only. (6) TONY TOO TALL has been claimed a zillion

times recently, but it's been a long time since he visited the winner's circle - outside draw makes him hard to

endorse tonight. (7) OUR CORELLI N seems to be regressing since the recent claim - the class drop can

help, but drawing Post 7 will likely leave him waiting for a better spot.

RACE 3 - (4) B NICKING was handled conservatively last start and responded with a crisp late rally for

3rd (not far off 2nd) - he's capable of big miles when on his best, and we'll see if he can build off last

week's effort with a winning try tonight. (3) JUSTLIKEHIM carved out an ambitious clip after making the

top last week and paid for it late, weakening to 3rd - remains a major threat with a more relaxed try. (6)

MEMO had sneaky good trot from an impossible spot, and does fit with these - should be a good price if

you think he can find a way to overcome the tough draw. (5) THE LAST CHAPTER was unable to threaten

with his first over bid last week but did keep trying to the end - a better trip could put him in the hunt for a

bigger prize tonight. (1) P L OSCAR raced super in his first two starts off the barn change but threw a

complete clunker in his last - good to see him back in the box quickly, but we'll stick with others -- at least

for this week. (7) ARABELLAS CADET was wide a long way and kept on coming last week, rallying very

nicely for 2nd to the stickout winner - she's sharp enough to make some noise here, but will need some luck

to find her way into it from all the way out here. (2) WINDSONG PIONEER was an 8-1 overlay winner

last time, but that was vs. easier - may struggle a bit against this tougher bunch.

RACE 4 - (3) TEXAS TERROR N threw a (very) rare clunker two back but rebounded with a very sharp

win (vs. 15s) in his last - was reclaimed by a barn that recently beat the 20s with him, and definitely has a

chance to do so again tonight. (1) IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N clearly had some issue when he backed up

badly last start but drops back in the box quickly - would be a threat from start to finish with anything close

to his best effort. It was a bit of a surprise to see (2) CASHNCAM reclaimed by a barn that didn't really do

all that well with him - should get a decent trip here, and may be able to pick up a decent slice. (4) ASTON

HILL DAVE has been a steady player lately, and is one that can be included underneath in exotics. (7) BL

UEBIRD RECON is one of the rare horses to NOT immediately improve dramatically upon entering this

barn, and is also coming off a sick scratch - can't be counted out, but hard to justify him being the ML

choice. (5) GOTHIC ROCK sports a couple of recent out of town wins vs. cheaper, but is likely looking at

only a smaller piece against these. (8) VINOVIO isn't bad right now, but the outside draw really figures to

hurt this week. (6) SPORTS BETTOR has struggled for a long time.

RACE 5 - (5) DARK ENERGY N ended the year in raging form, but took a while to get back to that level

after the winter break - he's hitting on all cylinders again, and has a solid chance to make it 2 in a row here.

(3) MARINER SEELSTER may be 13 years old but he's in career form right now - he's looking for his 4th

straight victory, and may end up with a tactical edge on the top choice - would be hard to NOT have him on

your tickets. (6) BARBADOS is feeling mighty good right now, and was his typical dead game self last

week (a close 3rd, after a tough trip) - moves to a very high % barn and gets Bartlett at the lines...the

question is what kind of trip will he land on from Post 6! (2) BLACK CHEVRON N threw a dud 2 back

but rebounded with a solid try last week (from an impossible spot) - a good trip puts him in the mix for a

good piece of this. (4) WHITE HAIR ROCKS may be just a bit below the top players, and he's also quite

camera shy - consider underneath only. (1) WON LAST FEELING draws best, but just seems a bit below

all the main contenders - could use a drop. (7) YOUMAKMYHEARTSING could use BOTH post and class

relief - sticking with others.

RACE 6 - (1) IT AINT THE WHISKEY continues to hold his form and draws best for tonight - meets

several very live foes in here, but perhaps he can use the draw to his advantage, and come out on top...at a

decent price. (4) FOCUS POCUS has taken to his new connections nicely, just missing in his first try then

scoring in a lifetime best 1:53.3 at Chester, last week - figures to be a major player tonight, as well. (3)

BARRY BLACK hasn't been sharp lately but he does tend to perk right up when he gets his class drops -

would be no surprise to see him come up with a much bigger mile tonight. (6) FOUR UNDER PAR is now

6 for 7 on the year, and was parked the mile in that lone loss - returns from "The Ridge" riding a 3 race win

streak, but this figures to be a much tougher assignment -- we'll see if he's up for it. (2) LIFETIME ROYAL

TY is probably a but higher up than he'd prefer, but may land an easy enough trip here to rally for a small

piece. (5) NEXTROUNDSONME drops back down to the level he beat 3 back, but he really hasn't been a

"winning machine" this year - willing to include underneath in exotics. (7) PLUMB doesn't feel like she's

on her best game right now, and lands a terrible post - leaning towards others. (8) SWANSEA has struggled

to finish his miles for some time....Post 8 isn't going to help his cause.

RACE 7 - Hard to feel too confident about anybody in here! (2) DESIRES CAPTAIN hasn't been a player

in weeks, but he does face a much easier group, and lands a good post - maybe this is a good spot for a

wake up call? (1) KNOCKING AROUND was "ok" in his last couple, and should end up with a pretty nice

trip from this spot - if he's not overbet, he's one to consider. (3) TOM ME GUN N lands in a very soft spot

but he's been away since 3/1, his trainer is 1 for 25 this year, and he's listed as the 9/5 ML favorite - just not

a lot of value here. (4) LEAR SEELSTER was a winner upstate in his last, and picked up a 3rd here earlier

this year - if he's a decent price, include him in exotics. (7) KIMANI N has some decent tries this year, but

he's just 1 for 28 here (last 2 years) and draws outside...would need a pretty good price to consider him on

top. (6) SPORTSKEEPER is just 1 for 30 locally over the past 2 years, and has been dull in most of his

recent starts - prefer others. (8) MINGO JOEL has yet to impress in 8 local tries and draws all the way

outside. (5) PINEBUSH LIFESAVER is winless in 22 Yonkers starts.

RACE 8 - (1) AMIGO VOLO was super winning two starts here at the end of last year (one in 1:52.4) and

also jogged in his only 2022 local appearance - took 4 months off after that start, qualified impressively at

Chester, then finished 3rd in the Maxie Lee in his first start back - have to give him the edge from the pole

with that excellent start under his belt. (3) HILLEXOTIC was always a nice horse and has elevated his

game even more since changing hands back in April - he finished 2nd in the Maxie Lee, and figures to be a

major player once again. (5) EUROBOND is having an excellent year, winning 6 of his 11 starts and

sporting a 5-2-2-0 record locally - hard to predict his trip from this spot, and it can't help drawing outside of

a couple of main rivals. (2) STORMY KROMER seems a notch below the top guns in here, but the classy

8YO has won a zillion races here, and is always worth a look at a good price. (6) STREET GOSSIP has

blossomed into a solid Open trotter, and his local slate is impressive (8-3-1-3) - he's proven he can hang

with these, but the outside draw could hurt his chances tonight. (4) HAT TRICK MARLEAU is having an

outstanding year, but really lands in a tough field for tonight.

RACE 9 - (3) MELADYS MONET made his first local start of the year last week and just as he's done so

many times in the past, the 13YO was able to visit the winner's circle - steps up a notch tonight, but seems

more than capable of making it 2 in a row. (2) FANATIC wasn't at his best when a new trainer was listed 2

and 3 starts back - returned to his usual barn last week, but was in a pretty hopeless spot - moves inside, and

we may see a much better effort this time. (5) NEW HEAVEN made an unexpected miscue 2 back, but

rebounded very nicely with last week's 2nd place finish - decent chance he can grab another good piece

tonight. (4) TOCCOA FALLS struggled through a tough 2021 season (0 for 24) but he's already won 7X

this year, including a couple here at Yonkers - returns off a pair of Pocono victories, but he'll be facing a

little tougher than he's used to tonight....may be a little vulnerable at a short price. (6) KINDA LUCKY

LINDY has been very consistent lately, picking up a bunch of smaller pieces (with the occasional win) -

draws his worst post in some time, but a good trip may still allow him to bring home a small piece. (1) IM

THE MUSCLE does his best work on the lead, vs. cheaper - can still use his speed here, but may have

trouble in the latter stages. (7) LADY JETER looked very good in her first couple off the recent claim, but

seems to have tailed a bit - outside draw figures to hurt her chances tonight.

RACE 10 - Wide open finale: (2) TIGER BARON benefited from an inside trip last week but was also

genuinely sharp, almost pulling off a 59-1 upset - won't be nearly that long this time, but he should still be a

pretty decent price...one of many possible winners in here. (3) IDEAL ARTILLERY gave it a big try 2

back, cutting the mile and only giving way late - caught a very fast mile in his next, then was scratched sick

from his last - he's definitely capable against these if he brings his best. (7) BETTER UP broke before the

start in his last at Monti, but was racing well prior to that - he's won here a few times in the past, and he

does look somewhat appealing at that 20-1 ML price. (8) IMSTAYNALIVE was holding his own vs. much

better not long ago, and would look like a serious threat here from an inside post - not sure he'll be put in

play from out here, but he would have a shot to make some noise if he is. (1) WARDAN EXPRESS A is on

the cheaper side, but seems pretty good right now - the rail draw could put him in play for a small piece. (5)

BLOOD BROTHER has really leveled off after a couple of very sharp tries right off the barn change -

needs to find that better form if he hopes to be a player tonight. (6) LIFEONTHEBEACH A wired a soft

group 2 back but got parked in his next then was scratched sick from his last - leaning towards others, but

wouldn't be shocked to see him race well here. (4) EPIC ACE came up with a good one out of the blue 4

back, but has done little since.
