The Empire Report - Monday, June 13, 2022 - Race Analysis

RACE 1 - (3) STONEBRIDGE GAMBLE has won 2 of his last 3 starts (2nd in the other), picking up a

new lifetime mark in his last - he's now 8-4-2-0 at Yonkers this year, and seems to do well in any barn he

races for - meets a solid field of 75s, but just feels like the sharpest, at the moment. (1) VINNY DE VIE

was stuck in the back with no chance last week, but his recent form has otherwise been terrific - moves all

the way inside, and a strong effort is expected. (2) BIZET hasn't won in some time but continues to pick up

good pieces almost every week - has to be included underneath. (5) ARMAGEDDON SEELSTER shows a

pair of good Chester starts after being away for 6 months - he usually thrives at Yonkers, and may be able

to add some value here to the exotics. (4) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN has speed and back class so he

can never be discounted...it does seem like he may be a notch below a few of these right now, however. (6)

WILD AND CRAZY GUY has been rock solid for a long time, but could only manage 3rds in his last pair

- will need some trip luck to do better tonight from Post 6. (7) GEMOLOGIST had very good trot finishing

last week but tonight's outside draw may leave him with a little too much to do turning for home.

RACE 2 - (2) ANOTHRMASTRPIECE N arrived in the U.S. with nearly $400K earned Down Under and

hasn't disappointed stateside, winning all 3 of his local starts (last was almost like a training mile, but he

showed what he's really capable of the start before) - solid chance to make it 4 for 4....at a very short price.

(1) IMA GIGOLO N paced a solid final half for 4th last week after dealing with a trio of bad posts prior to

that - barn has come to life recently, and this is definitely one to include in exotics. (5) GINGRAS BEACH

was 2nd to the top choice 2 back, then went a BIG mile in his last for 2nd, beaten only by the sharp, perfect

trip winner - legitimate player once again. (3) REAL PEACE was a game 2nd last week, overcoming a

tough trip - could easily grab another good piece here, especially with an easy trip. (4) RHODENA ROAD

didn't fire last week but was ok in a few starts prior to that, and his barn has been clicking again - will need

some trip luck to be able to rally for a piece, though. (6) WINDSUN RICKY outraced his 30-1 odds last

week when he kicked home nicely for 2nd - tonight's draw does figure to hurt, though.

RACE 3 - (2) AMERICAN COURAGE didn't make a ton of starts at 2 and 3 but he always showed a lot of

ability when anything close to 100% (he's 7 for 9 at Yonkers, with issues in the two losses) - he's looked

very good in his 4 starts since returning recently as a 4YO, and we'll give him the slight edge tonight over

his main rival. (1) BEE TWO BEE landed on a tough trip in last week's Open and weakened a bit into the

stretch - he held his own throughout the Borgata Series, and gets both a class drop and the pole tonight -

could boil down as a test between this guy, and the top choice. (6) ALEX TYE was super in his first bunch

of starts this year, tailed for a while, but has been sharpening back up to top form lately - if he can leave

well enough to grab a decent spot, he can land himself a piece of this. (7) DINA BOLT N hasn't won in

some time, but has raced well nearly every week for months - he's another that could pick up a good chunk

here if able to get away to a quick start. (4) VELOCITY KOMODO was used too hard 2 back, then failed

to get in play last week - he drops right back in the box, and draws well enough for a chance to rally late for

a share. (5) PEACE OUT POSSE has been a bit in and out this year - if he shows up on his game, he's

another with a chance at a piece. (3) ESCAPETOTHEBEACH draws well enough to contend for a minor

piece, but just may be a notch below a few of these. (8) WALKINSHAW N is usually finishing well late,

but will be coming from well out of it tonight.

RACE 4 - (3) ROCK LIGHTS has done good work since being claimed by his current connections on

3/22, and he's really hitting on all cylinders right now - steps up looking for his 3rd straight, and may be

sharp enough to get it. (6) HERRICKROOSEVELT N rallied very nicely for 4th last week despite racing

off a bad date - if things get testy up front tonight (a possibility), he might be able to deliver the upset. (7)

RAUKAPUKA RULER N has struggled to find any consistency so far in 2022, but he's shown that he can

still beat this type when in the right mood - always a chance that Bartlett can send him out and land on a

decent trip. (2) CANTSTOPLYING tired in a pair of quick Chester miles but was a winner here the start

before that - he's reunited here with Holland (who knows how to push his buttons), and he also figures to

get away to a quick start - possible. (5) GLENGARRY KNIGHT N can race well when near the pace and

Yannick may be able to hustle him away to a good spot - consider if the price is right. (1) ROCKS

FANTASY is probably facing much tougher than he has been upstate, but his form is undeniably sharp - his

young pilot has shown that he can handle a horse, and we'll see if he can get this guy into the hunt. (4)

MACHEASY A threw a clunker last time after a lesser try the week before - wait for a better effort before

considering. (8) CRUNCH HANOVER looked done on the turn last week but came alive late in the stretch

to win it - moves up and draws Post 8...not exactly a winning combination.

RACE 5 - (4) JOESSTAR OF MIAA was content to just sit 7th off the class drop last week but was

absolutely loaded with pace through the lane, losing by only a length while finishing 3rd - drops again, and

the recent multiple Open winner looms a short priced, front end winner. (1) MIGHTY SANTANA N

perked up 2 back to deliver the 10-1 upset two back, then was right there again last week - decent chance he

can get away in the pocket, and complete a short exacta. (2) BILL HALEY N raced his last pair up at the

top levels at Plainridge but was a winner here at Yonkers in the start before that - draws inside, and has a

good chance to take home a big slice of this. (7) MIKES Z TAM may elect to just take back from Post 7

tonight but IF Lachance does leave with him, he may be sharp enough to land somewhere on the ticket -- at

a nice price. (3) FUNKNWAFFLES got the drop from the Open he was waiting for but came up terrible last

week - we'll see if he can find a better effort tonight. (6) ROCK CANDY was a bit disappointing from the

pole last week - he drops a notch here, but figures to be hampered by the outside draw (and the question

that must be asked is what happened to his talented young conditioner (also the trainer for Leonidas A, and

others from this barn) - who is no longer down on any of these horses?). (5) STANFORD COURT looked

good vs, lesser, but seems to have hit a snag against these better ones - waiting for a better effort before

hopping back on his team. (8) OAKWOODINITOWINIT FR was well backed for his YR return but ended

up parked the mile - have to believe he'll be conservatively handled tonight.

RACE 6 - Good race! (2) DIAMONDBEACH was dead game winning one of the Borgata consolation

races 4 back, and has beaten this type several times in the past - he may end up the best price among the

main contenders, and that makes him worth a play. (3) MR DS ROCK never fired last week, but that 6th

place finish did allow him to drop down to this easier spot - could be very dangerous tonight. (5) PAT STA

NLEY N hadn't picked up a check in several starts but did perk up with a much better effort last week - he

may be able to build off that, and be a serious late threat in here. (4) NO LOU ZING has struggled to find

the winner's circle this year, though he often races very well (like in last week's tough beat) - definitely a

chance, but that 5/2 ML price makes him a bit unattractive to use on top. (1) TRACEUR HANOVER has

won 3 of his 6 for his current connections, but the classy 10YO is facing better tonight - we'll see if the

inside draw can make him a serious player. (7) ST LADS BEAT has been terrific since arriving from

Canada, winning 4 of 9 local starts, and finishing just behind some really good ones in a few of the losses -

would like his chances a lot better from an inside post, though. (6) GLACIS has held form beautifully as

he's climbed the class ladder but he'll likely be coming from too far back to have any serious impact

tonight. (8) SHADOW CAT needs a better post....in an easier field.

RACE 7 - (1) BRONX SEELSTER was a winner from Post 7 in his last pair, and a close 3rd behind 2

razor sharp ones the start before that (PYRO, and NONE BETTOR A) - moves all the way inside, and the

road to the winner's circle runs through him. (4) ALWAYS AND AGAIN is just 1 for 11 here this year, but

held his own with good ones in many of those losses - may work out the pocket trip behind the top choice,

and that would make him the main danger. (6) GROOVY JOE had no prayer in his last couple after

drawing all the way outside - this spot isn't much better, but maybe Marohn can at least get him a little

closer before they turn for home - small piece? (7) BIG SIR threw a major clunker 2 back, but rebounded

with a very nice try last week - the terrible draw makes it hard to list him any higher than this, though. (3)

STELLAR YANKEE saved ground for an even 4th last week and another easy trip could help him grab

another share tonight. (2) BETTORBUCKLEUP was no factor at Chester last week off a sick scratch, but

showed some ability here in the starts prior to that - maybe can tow along for 3rd? (5)

TALBOTCREEKWHISKEY raced well at Stga. off the short freshening and does have a good YR history-

may be in a little tough here, though.

RACE 8 - (6) PRICELESS BEACH (who has been good in all 7 starts since arriving from Canada)

outkicked LEONIDAS A two back, then paced a final half in :53.2 last week to score from a spot few

horses could win from - have to give him top billing here, even from another tough spot. (1) AMERICAN

DEALER N returns to Yonkers and reunites with Bongiorno...who scored from the pocket with him the last

time they were paired up - deja vu? (5) SPEED MAN N has raced well in virtually ALL of his 15 starts this

year, and uses his gate speed to set himself up with excellent trips most weeks - just missed to the top pick

last start, and there's always a chance he could reverse that decision tonight. (3) LOUS SWEETREVENGE

has been sharp for a while - will be finishing well, and we'll see how big a piece he can pick up. (2) PYRO

brings a 3 race win streak into this but will face much tougher here - will probably be looking at a much

smaller share this time. (4) SPLASH BROTHER was used hard last week and earned that nose victory -

steps back up to the Open, and may find these just a little too tough.

RACE 9 - Tough race: (1) MOONLIGHT SHADOW is reunited with Kakaley tonight and the pair teamed

up for a 27-1 upset in this class back in April - he won't be quite that long tonight, but he still figures to be a

pretty good price in a wide open race - worth considering. (3) WEONA SIZZLER A was a winner 4 back

then lost by a nose 2 back...with a 7 and 8 hole sandwiched in between - moves back inside, and could be a

very live player tonight. (2) BALLERAT BOOMERANG is winless in 10 local starts this year but he did

win 2 of 5 out of town - he's usually a player most weeks in this class, and he may trip out from this spot -

possibility. (4) BEACH BOOGIE drew outside in his last 2 local tries so we'll excuse those efforts - he's

usually pretty good here at Yonkers, and he'll be a juicy price tonight...use him on a few tickets. (5) ALOT

BETTOR N woke up at 51-1 last week to be right there 3rd - if he can build off that effort, he may be able

to have a say here. (7) WICHITA LINEMAN has a 2nd and a pair of 3rds since joining this high powered

barn, but he was also just a little light at the end of those miles - draws poorly tonight, and he'll need to up

his game a bit more for a chance from out here. (6) FOREVER FAV went a big mile last week before

taking a heartbreaking loss on the wire - draws poorly for a new barn, and he's also listed as the 5/2 ML

choice - just seems to be better value with some others. (8) EL JACKO N draws post after failing to fire at

all last week.

RACE 10 - (2) SONNY WEAVER N won the first 2 legs of this "mini-series" on the front end, as the odds

on choice - wouldn't say that he's a cinch in here, but it would be pretty hard to make a case against him

right now. (6) ROCKATHON was a wire to wire winner 2 back, then finished up well after trailing all the

way last week - it's possible Brennan could leave tonight, and put this guy into good position early...which

would at least give him a fighting chance. (3) SHNEONUCRZYDIAMND A was a very game first over

2nd to the heavy favorite last week, and he's been pretty consistent recently - decent chance to land

somewhere in the exotics. (4) REIGNING DEO has been very good himself, and simply had no real chance

last week - just not sure he'll be able to find a manageable trip for tonight. (1) GAMBLINGTERROR

moves all the way inside and will surely show a lot more speed tonight - he'd prefer to be in a little cheaper,

but an easy trip does give him a chance for a good chunk. (5) MACH N CHEESE seemed to be sharpening

for his current barn before taking a step back last week - may be coming from too far back tonight.

RACE 11 - (1) FEELIN WESTERN seemed to be tailing for a couple of starts but rebounded with a big

win 2 back, followed by an excellent 2nd last week - gets the nod tonight thanks to the rail draw. (5) JESSE

DUKE N has 3 wins and an excellent 2nd from his last 4 starts....for FOUR different trainers -- goes for yet

another new barn tonight and moves up in class, but he certainly feels sharp enough to still be a serious

threat. (7) IM SOME GRADUATE comes into tonight off a pair of sharp front end scores in this class, and

would probably have been the top choice if not for the outside draw - classy 9YO is as sharp as he's been in

ages, and can't be discounted...even from Post 7. (3) LYONS KING doesn't win often at this level but he

does pick up lots of good pieces - include underneath. (6) PATRIOT NATION benefited from a ground

saving trip last week, but was still full of pace to the wire - decent bomb for 3rd. (2) BECKHAMS Z TAM

seemed a bit overmatched trying the 50s two back but he finished 2nd that night (at 33-1) followed by

another 2nd last week - steps up to 75s tonight for a new barn, but there's a chance he's sharp enough to still

grab a share. (4) CHANGE STRIDE N has raced well in almost all of his starts for the past 2 years, but just

may be pushing things a bit up at this $75K claiming level - prefer others. (8) BELTANE A just doesn't

seem sharp enough right now to overcome the outside draw.

RACE 12 - (2) KANDY SWEET was 2nd to STONEBRIDGE GAMBLE 3 back, then beat that sharp rival

last week, at a juicy 11-1 price - obviously that price will come way down tonight....but she definitely has a

decent chance to take another. (7) BIG RICH beat this class 3 back at 8/5 so tonight's 20-1 ML price makes

this one mighty tempting...especially since he had valid excuses in his last pair. (8) BIG BAD SWAN got

really sharp at Chester but landed in a tough spot for his Hilltop return last start - this spot is also very

difficult, but the price should be juicy enough to make him worth considering (1) LOOK IN MY EYES

would look better with easier, but the rail draw should keep him close enough for a shot at a piece. (3)

ABSOLUT UNCERTENTY has a win, 2nd, and 3rd from his last 3 starts, but facing easier- we'll see if he

can be as effective at this level. (4) FASHION FOREVER doesn't win too often, but he's capable of

grabbing pieces when the trip goes his way. (5) TORKIL would really appreciate some class relief, but he

does pick up his share of minor awards in this class when he finds an easy enough trip. (6) FOR A

DREAMER ships in for his local debut and will have to prove that he can hang with these tougher rivals.
