RACE 1 – Solid field for this class: (4) HUNTING HULA took her 1:52.4 mark with a NYSS win here on 8/15 –
she had no chance in the Final (8 hole) but did qualify for the Jugette Final then was only beaten by a couple of
lengths last week in her Breeders Crown elimination – may have a class edge here. (6) PARKAVENUELISA makes
her Yonkers debut after some modest success this year taking on some nice stock in PA – could have a big say, if she
can get around the Hilltop Oval smoothly. (1) IM A BELIEVER has earned $158K at 2 and 3 despite winning only 3
of 40 career starts – can be a solid player from the pole. (7) MYBITCOIN has hit board in all 7 local starts, but will
need some trip luck to work her way into the hunt from out here – a good price makes her playable in exotics. (5)
OBJ has a solid 6-1-4-0 local slate, including 2nds in her last pair at this level– could land a decent share. (8) PAS
TA DELIGHT was well backed arriving from Canada and a solid winner at this level – she’s another that’ll be
hoping for some trip luck, after the awful draw. (2) SOUTHERN SUGAR ended up parked by a too-hot frontrunner
in her local debut and gets a pass...this is a much tougher field, however. (3) KAIRAKICONFIDNTL N won her
first 3 U.S. starts but has regressed since then – leaning to others right now.
RACE 2 – (8) ITALIAN DELIGHT N was finally claimed after winning ELEVEN in a row, and stayed in the win
column for his new connections last week – he’ll lose eventually, but it may not be against this fairly soft field. (2)
FOREVER FAV has definitely been much better since moving to his current barn this summer, but still has just one
win and no seconds on the year – good spot to pick up a good piece. (1) JOHNNY CHIP has a 3rd and a 4th from his
2 local starts this year, has speed from the rail and is a very logical one to land somewhere in the exotics (5) MAJOR
DESIRE beat the 20s on 10/2, then surprisingly moved up to 25s for his next – he was 5th that night, but now has
missed 3 weeks and takes a double drop back down to 15s...tough call! (7) MOTIVE HANOVER would be a live
player on his best effort but he’s definitely been off form in his last few – tough draw, even if ready for a better one.
(3) MASTER MIKI feels a little cheap but he gets a big driver change, a good draw, and has at least a chance for a
small piece. (6) ON THE VIRG went bad this summer and struggled for weeks – he’s been freshened up, drops to
the basement, but still would be tough to endorse right now. (4) CENTURY IGLESIAS hasn’t been a threat in ages.
RACE 3 – (5) CUSTOM FIT has his share of solid efforts at Yonkers and makes his first start tonight for the top
barn in the nation – he’s also been away since 10/3 so while we’ll give him the nod, it’s a lukewarm one. (8) BLAR
NEY CASTLE is 3 for 11 to start his career and his last 2 starts in PA and NJ weren’t bad at all – brutal draw for his
YR debut, but that 20-1 ML price makes him worth a look. (4) ROCK CLIMBER was sent off favored for his local
debut but just gave way to the top of the lane and stopped – he’s capable of much better, and could be worth a look
at what figures to be a much better price tonight. (2) FOREVER LION AS shocked at 25-1 in his local debut then
drew too far outside to threaten last week – moves back inside, and could have a much bigger say. (1) QUEEN CAB
AL threw a dud last time but she’s also thrown several good efforts here at Yonkers – could rebound with a better
effort, and that would give her a chance at a piece. (6) HIPPIE SHAKE banked most of his $118K just showing up
in short NYSS fields (without actually contending – he’s just 23-0-1-4 for his career!) – he did race ok in this class
adding Lasix last week, so maybe he can grab another small share? (3) WISTERIA HANOVER picked up a 2
nd at 82-1 last week (off the layoff) but we’re still sticking with others. (7) MARINOS PRIZE lands a terrible post off a
bad clunker in his last.
RACE 4 – (1) SOMWHERUNDERHEAVN was no factor dropping down to 25s last week but did start from Post 8
and only lost by about 5 lengths – looks for a more aggressive try with the move to the pole, especially in a field
with some shaky favorites. (4) PREMIER SWEETALKER shipped into our leading barn and promptly won her first
2 local starts – she made a break in her next, however, then was a “meh” 4th last week, racing off 3 weeks – anything
close to her best makes her tough here, dropping down to 25s...but there are definitely some red flags. (7) BEANTO
WN BABE seems a bit cheap off her Tioga lines but she did win her last 2 starts, moves to a barn that can improve
one in a hurry, and did qualify nicely behind a couple of high-end performers...worth a look at that 15-1 ML price.
(5) SALE EL SOL landed on an impossible trip dropping in for the tag last week and deserves a pass – could be a
good one for exotics. (3) THUNDRA has been good, but steps up to 25s off the claim and we’ll see if she can be as
effective against these (8) LAZIN ON THE BEACH has raced well in her 3 starts since shipping in from “The
Aces” but could be hurt significantly by tonight’s draw. (2) UNITY was very good for a while but has definitely
leveled off quite a bit recently. (6) BIG BIG PLANS may need some class relief before we see her best.
RACE 5 – (6) BREEZY HALL recently won 3 straight overnights before a solid 4th in a PA stake race last week –
he gets what figures to be a good barn change, and we’ll give him top billing...but would need a “fair” price to be
worth a wager on top. (1) NOTTINGHAM earned $180K at 2 and 3 (so far) but does tend to be a little inconsistent –
he debuts for a new barn tonight, and we’re guessing he’ll bring a good one. (2) ENERGY KING has been very
consistent, hitting board in 5 straight – only one was a win, however, and he may be better used underneath, than on
top. (4) ELEGANT RESOLVE definitely has ability but was hard to steer in his (well backed) local debut – moves
inside, may have some equipment adjustments (though we’ll never find out about them), and is definitely worth a
look at that 12-1 ML price (2nd time Lasix). (8) CROWN MONARCH is used to facing better and likely fits very
nicely with these ability-wise – he’s also stuck starting from Post 8 (while an unknown commodity over the half), so
make sure to get a good price if using on top. (7) FLASHY SWAN was a decent 3rd here 2 back but faces an uphill
battle trying to get in play from out here. (3) STORMCLOUDFASHION struggled here in a pair of July starts then
went on the shelf – just re-qualified (twice), and this may be a good week to just observe. (5) PAPA JOE LOZITO is
racing pretty well now, but does seem a bit on the cheaper side.
RACE 6 – (4) BUDDY HILL was dull in his first start off the long layoff but a much better 3rd last week – he gets
Kakaley on board tonight, and may be ready for his best in his 3rd start back. (5) ALOTBETTOR N loves to win
races, and his current trainer certainly knows how to push his buttons – he goes for 3 in a row tonight, and it would
be no surprise if he’s able to get it done. (6) B COOL FOOL was a little too far back to threaten last time but was a
close 2nd in his prior 2 starts – a live trip puts him in play for a good piece. (1) HURRIKANEKINGJAMES hasn’t
won in some time but he belongs in exotics starting from the pole. (2) HEART ON MY SLEEVE still has no 1sts or
2nds from his 29 starts this year but his last pair were a lot more promising – another to consider for a piece. (7) DE
LIGHTFUL TERROR is a tough call – he has several good recent races vs. better, but he did make an early break
last week and now drops down to 20s – hard to know if a wheel fell off and even if it didn’t, this is a tough starting
spot regardless. (3) WAR DAN DELIGHT N is now 1 for 33 this year after going 3 for 43 last year – minor spoils
only. (8) GINGER TREE PETE has an excuse for his last (bad shuffle) but no spot for tonight.
RACE 7 – (2) TEAM COLORS was a decent 5th (vs. better) last week, debuting for a new barn and driver – she
should be very comfortable at this $20K level, and should offer some decent value here. (3) DEVILISH DREAMS
has definitely been better since the 9/14 barn change and the move to 20s should suit here – very logical here, but
also figures to be overbet, especially considering her 0 for 32 record this year! (1) HARPER SEELSTER is rock
solid at this level, moves all the way inside and would be hard to leave off your tickets. (5) EBONY LADY just
missed vs. better 3 back but stopped to a walk on the lead dropping down to 20s last week – insist on a nice price if
looking for her rebound tonight. (4) PLEASURE SEEKER has been stuck on smaller pieces lately and could be in
that same boat tonight. (7) SHOTGUN PERSUASION is hard to fault form-wise but all here recent starts have been
from the inside, and now she’s stuck out here – may struggle a bit. (8) SPEAK YOUR MIND is another that’s racing
well right now, but will have to find a way to get in play without being used too hard...no easy task from Post 8. (6)
TESLA POWER went an improved effort last week but was helped considerably when she was able to pace by a
stopping #5 at 3/4s – likely looking at a much tougher trip tonight.
RACE 8 – Tough race: (4) SCRIBBLERS has been solid in all 4 starts since arriving on the local scene, and that
includes last week’s effort vs. the 50s – drops back down, should get a live trip, and looms a very live player. (3) J B
GRAM will be stepping up to face tougher tonight but he may be sharp enough to do so – he won his last pair (after
a 2nd three back) and can’t be counted against these somewhat tougher foes. (6) AROUND MIDNIGHT was a dull
first over 6th two back but that mile is sandwiched between a pair of solid victories – threat to take another IF the
“good version” shows up tonight. (1) BILL HALEY N is always a “threat” but he’s generally overbet, and definitely
disappoints more than he delivers. (2) MY CARBON COPY N is pretty good right now, gets a good draw, but is
also as camera shy as they come – underneath only. (5) LYONS SURFING was super 3 back crushing cheaper (the
night he was claimed), a solid 3rd in his next but then reverted to bad habits in his last, getting away last and finding
his stride way too late to be a player – wouldn’t shock, but sticking with more reliable players. (8) MOVIN ON UP
is definitely good right now, but has also been helped by a long stretch of inside posts – that’s NOT the case tonight!
(7) MEMPHISTENNESSEE N turned in the “hang of the year” when he got beat 2 back, but then somehow crushed
a field in his last, winning for the first time in 2024 (start #32) – was reclaimed, and now lands Post 8, up in class.
RACE 9 – (1) JOJOS PLACE tried to leave last week, had to grab up and retreat to 6th, sat the cones then did finish
with interest – he could be looking at a very good trip tonight, and may be worth a stab, despite his dismal 18-0-0-2
local slate this year. (3) MISSILE SEELSTER was much better in his 2nd start off the claim, used hard and battling
very gamely right to the wire – logical threat from this spot. (5) ROCK THIS WAY showed some of the good life
finishing last week that he was showing when sharp back in August/early September – could add some value to the
ticket. (4) MACHLICIOUS was a solid 3rd last week after finishing 2nd in a PA amateur race the start before –
license to land somewhere in the exotics. (2) VICTOR HIC gets a good draw and that may help him stay close
enough for a chance at a minor share. (7) JUST A WRANGLER is very solid at this level, including a dead game
victory last week – he also does better work when he draws inside, so insist on a fair price if looking for him to
repeat from out here. (6) VELOCITY KOMODO hasn’t been better than 6th in his last 5 starts. (8) HURRIKANE
GEORGIE is still winless on the year and now has to contend with the 8 hole.
RACE 10 – (6) SHOWBOAT HANOVER did lots of damage at the PA Fairs the last 2 years but also won at Pocono
and The Meadows (including her last start) – she gets the same barn change that saw BAR COINS immediately
improve about 3 seconds, and also adds Lasix - tough to go past. (2) FRESH MIST raced from Post 8 in her local
debut and actually was pretty good, considering the trip – could have a much bigger say tonight with the move
inside. (5) IN A WINK N ships in from Stga. off a pair of wins, is 16-4-5-5 on the year and 1 for 1 here at Yonkers –
could easily be a player. (1) HURRIKANEKLEEPATRA is hard to gauge as she just requalified in a “slow”, but
blowout mile at PcD – she had been 2nd in 3 straight before taking 3 weeks off, and may prove a good fit here. (4)
ANNELIESE HANOVER had no prayer from Post 8 last start but she’s been pretty consistent and tonight’s better
draw could see her back contending for a piece. (3) URSULA BLUE CHIP is a bit below the top ones, but draws
well enough for a chance to tow along for minor spoils. (7) DUCK INTO THE NITE draws poorly and just doesn’t
seem to be on her game right now. (8) ROCKINWITHDAVE likely will need a better draw to make any serious
noise with these types.
