The Empire Report - Friday, September 17, 2021 - Race Analysis

RACE 1 - (2) EGOMANIA was in tough spots vs. much better in his last couple - this is a much easier

spot, although dropping below the claim price so quickly is always a concern....going to give him the tepid

nod tonight. (5) SPORTSNET has been doing fine work up at "The Ridge" and picks up Bartlett for his

local debut (he was a winner when driven by Ranger, and Dunn) - should be a legit threat upon arrival at

YR. (1) UNICO LEGEND N threw a pair of duds after the form reversing (big upset) win on 7/30 - his last

much better, but not sure that it merits a move back up to 25s - would need a decent price to use him on top

here. (3) COOL BLUES MAN should be pretty tight after that speed try at Chester last week - best work

here does come one level down, however. (4) HAPPY TRIO is definitely a solid $20K claimer, but a little

questionable at this higher level - willing to include underneath. (7) RECORD MACHINE figures to

improve in his new barn...but may need to wait for a better draw before we see him strut his best stuff. (6)

TIME OUT IM TIRED drops, but his last couple suggest he may have fallen off form.

RACE 2 - (1) ROCK N TONY's last start was better than it looks, and his overall form has been very solid

- he should be a decent price here (despite the rail, and short field), and is definitely worth using. (4) MARI

NER SEELSTER was an opportunistic winner "first time Dynamic Duo" two back, but probably raced

even better in last week's narrow loss - can race on or off the pace, and the 12YO is a very legit threat here.

(6) PACING MAJOR N looked beat entering the stretch last week but found more nearing the wire and

surged late for the victory - draws outside, but shouldn't get too bad a trip in this short field - use in exotics.

(3) THISJETSABOOKIN still needs to prove that he's a legit $30K claimer and he'll be doing it for a new

barn tonight - we'll see how it goes. (5) SWEET N FAST N has been banging heads with the Pocono 30s

with limited success - will probably just watch to see how he fares with the locals. (2) CLASSIC PRO

seemed like a questionable claim for $25K but his previous connections liked him enough to cough up $5K

more to re-claim him last week - we'll see if he can justify the premium they paid!

RACE 3 - Officially a $15K claimer, but EVERY horse in the race does their best work in for $12.5K! (7)

YS SUNSHINE is listed at 15-1 ML but really deserves a look here - he's been doing good work for a

lower profile barn, and now moves to connections that often step up their fresh stock - hard to gauge his

first local try as that was the night of the horrendous rain (canceled after 3 races) -- maybe he can score the

upset here. (2) THEREISAPACEFORUS was stuck in the back of the pack vs. 20s last time so just give

him a pass for that mile - moves inside, and this is the type of field where he usually thrives - legit threat.

(5) WILD WEST hasn't won here in over 2 years but he ALMOST was able to get his picture taken last

week - Bongiorno sticks....maybe tonight's the night? (1) AMERICAN SONIC was a solid $10K claimer at

Chester but was able to parlay a pocket trip into a win over the $12.5s here last week - would hardly be a

surprise to see him right there again starting from the same pole position. (6) MISTER HAT was a winner

here 2 back so that 20-1 ML price does look appealing - not sure how he can get into the race tonight,

however. (4) VILLAGE CHAMP has been claimed 4 straight starts, and he's had his share of good results

against these types - we'll see how he does for his new connections. (3) JUST WAVE GOODBYE was able

to drop and pop last week, and was claimed for $2500 less than his new owner lost him for 4 starts back -

still leaning towards others, though.

RACE 4 - (8) IDEAL SON rattled off three impressive victories here in July...then just stopped functioning

after being claimed! Was apparently purchased by the Super Siblings after that last "distanced" effort and

quickly bounced back with a dominant qualifier in NJ - willing to bet that he's ready for a big effort tonight.

(2) WINNING LINC is one of the all time "all or nothing" horses - goes for a new barn off last week's

claim, and the "all" version would have a legitimate chance here. (3) GYPSY LEATHER was worn down

by the sharp Venier Hanover last week and tired after giving way - could easily rebound tonight, especially

dropping down to the bottom level. (1) AMERICAN NITRO is another inconsistent sort but he has 2 fairly

recent wins, and can't be discounted from this spot. (6) ALLGONOWHOA won his first 3 local starts

before finishing 3rd last week - moves to his 3rd barn in 3 weeks and it's hard to say if that fine form will

continue to hold up. (4) FAST ON THE DRAW seems like a pretty iffy claim as he's just 1 for 33 here over

thee last 2 years, and just 5 for 72 lifetime - does move to a very high % barn, though. (5) THUNDER

SOME WHERE usually does his best work when he can race pretty close to the pace - not sure that's

possible tonight. (7) LANAS DESIRE figures to have a hard time getting into the mix from out here.

RACE 5 - (4) OFFICIAL DELIGHT was 0 for 24 this year before picking up that victory last week but to

be fair, he was usually facing much tougher, and raced well in a bunch of his losses - wouldn't normally be

looking for a horse like this two win 2 in a row, but this guy did look sharp enough last week (for a new

barn) to suggest that he may have another good one in him. (1) POCKET WATCH N had some issue in his

last start (besides being his 3rd straight 8 hole, and racing vs. 20s) so we're willing to ignore that line - qua.

looks just fine, he moves all the way inside, and may be able to give these a real tussle tonight. (6) RYCRO

FT N moves to the Dynamic Duo as their rapidly expanding barn may soon have a horse in every race on

every card - hard to get a read on this guy as he was recently in $8K claimers, and does come from a very

high % Ohio barn - can't rule out his chances, but also hard to take a short price on top. (7) TEXAS TERR

OR N was a sharp brush and crush winner last week, showing that his 13YO legs still have some spring in

them - moves up and lands outside but IF he's a big price, considering using the classy veteran on your

tickets. (2) WAVES OF FIRE A was a nice 2nd off the barn change last week - if he can replicate that

effort, he has a chance to land somewhere on the ticket once more. (3) RISKY MILLION was able to pick

up his first win of the year last week in an easier field - goes for a new barn tonight, and it's hard to know if

he can be quite as good. (5) STARK HANOVER's only recent win was over lesser at Chester - gets Dube in

the bike tonight, and it wouldn't be a shock to see him race well here. (8) BLACKTREE probably needs a

better spot to make any real noise.

RACE 6 - (1) MASTERSON drops back to the level of his last win (3 starts back) and reunites with the

pilot that got the job done - meets nothing too scary in here, and may be able to come up with some deja vu.

(3) SHOREVIEW gets a meaningful drop to 20s and was right there 3rd the last time HE raced at this level

(in the race won by #1) - could be the main danger. (4) ASTON HILL DAVE was facing some tough fields

in his last few at Chester but was doing good work (with cheaper) just prior to that - he's no stranger to the

Hilltop Oval, and should be able to have a say tonight. (8) P H KENNY is a good fit with these but faces

along haul from Post 8 - expect a driver change when the judges notice that Cory S. actually trains #3! (2)

BEVANS CULLEN N is 0 for 35 over the past 2 years and certainly seems like a strange claim for $20K -

we'll see if his new connections saw some hidden ability with this one. (6) TALK SHOW has been well off

form in his last few - goes for his 3rd barn in his last 4 starts and we'll see if his new crew has any better

luck getting him back on track. (7) RUTHLESS DUDE used every bit of his pocket trip to pull off the

victory last week - will be a lot harder to be a player from all the way out here. (5) I GET THAT doesn't

seem all that sharp at the moment - improvement needed if he hopes to be a player.

RACE 7 - (1) WESTERN REDHOT has been extremely sharp lately - was a little off his best racing for a

smaller barn last week but returns to a high % barn this week and looms the one to beat from the pole. (8)

DISMISSAL SLIP is very sharp right now - will need plenty of trip luck to get it done from Post 8 but at

20-1 ML, he surely deserves some serious consideration. (2) FOLLOW YOUR HEART raced ok in this

class last week and draws a better post tonight - not a bad week to give him a look. (3) BUSH MAN N

upped his game significantly recently, even if he was nipped late in last with no real excuses - has to be

included in exotics. (7) ROCK N BLUE has been uncharacteristically consistent lately, and can race from

off the pace when necessary - another logical player, even from out here. (4) ARCHANGEL THREE

shipped in off a sharp Fhd. win but was no factor in his YR return - capable on his best effort, but not worth

that 3-1 ML price. (5) TODDLER TANTRUM continues to drop in for $20K despite showing that he really

needs to be in cheaper for a more realistic chance. (6) ITSGOOTOBEDAKING is another that has been

begging for some class relief.

RACE 8 - (3) LL MYSTRO has a 3rd, 2nd, and blowout win in this class - tried the 40s last week (adding

Lasix) but was hot early and ended up with an impossible trip - very dangerous dropping back down

tonight. (4) SAILBOAT HANOVER went a HUGE effort 2 back (brutal nose loss to #2), then was hard

used again from Post 8 last week - better spot tonight, and a major danger in his current form. (1) BOLT OF

LUCK made major improvement when claimed for $12.5K three starts back, then improved even more

when claimed again that night - right there 2nd in this class last week (as the favorite) and a very live threat

tonight, as well. (2) WELL DONE SON used a perfect trip to score his first YR win last time - this will be

a much tougher assignment, but a smaller piece is still within reach. (5) MY WISH CAME TRUE has

picked up a couple of smaller pieces against these and seems destined for a similar result tonight - good one

to use for 3rd/4th. (6) FURIOUS EBACH has been doing good work since being claimed in late July -

outside draw will probably limit him to a minor share tonight, however. (7) KEYSTONE DASH used a

perfect trip to pick up the win last week but faces a much tougher task from Post 7 - not sure he'll be able to

replicate that last performance. (8) BOURBONS COURAGE has been a mice purchase for his current barn

but faces an uphill battle tonight from Post 8.

RACE 9 - Tough race: (3) KASEY JOHN N was a solid 2nd to the very sharp winner 2 back, then just

missed last week after looking like a winner into the stretch - should be a decent price tonight (even with

his sharp form) and has a chance to get it done for his new connections. (5) REAL LUCKY N wasn't at his

best last week, but was also in a little tight at the end - overall form has been terrific for this owner/trainer

tag team, and he looms a solid threat once again. (1) PRO BEACH is the newcomer in here and his (mixed)

recent form makes it hard to gauge how well he'll fit with the 40s - barn usually places them in the right

spots, but hard to get excited about this guy as the 5/2 ML choice. (4) HUNDIE N wasn't "bad" last week,

but also wasn't at his sharpest for his new barn - if he can find his "A Game" here, he can be a legitimate

player. (6) GIVENUPDREAMING is pretty camera shy at Yonkers and he's also better vs. a bit softer - his

last effort was excellent, however, so perhaps he deserves a spot on the bottom of exotics? (2) GRIFFON

HANOVER got pretty good recently but seems like he may be pushing it up at this level - inside draw may

help him tow along for a piece. (8) TERRITORY went a big mile off the claim moving up in class but

figures to be used pretty hard from out here just to get into the hunt tonight - not sure he can stick around to

the end. (7) OZONE BLUE CHIP probably needs a much better post to be a player at this level.

RACE 10 - Very tough finale! (6) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A draws outside several of his main foes but

he's definitely sharp and will offer some good value here - one of several possible winners, depending on

how this race plays out. (5) CAPOZZO doesn't usually get in this cheap so it would be hard not to include

him on your tickets here - he's beaten better too many times to not get a good look here. (3) MR KELLY

raced very well for his new barn last time, finishing 2nd in a solid NW6 field despite racing off a bad date -

catches a good NW7500 field, but still worthy of consideration. (4) PEPPER GUY is good right now - he

relies on good trips to win, but he can be a late threat here if things go his way. (1) MISTER SPOT A has

been struggling lately, and moves to a barn that has been picking up a lot of other barns' "strugglers"

recently - his last was a little better, so we'll see how he does with a change of scenery. (2) PROVOCATIV

EPRINCEN scored at first asking for his new connections last week but that was on the lead, in a soft field

- he'll have to prove he can beat better (and possibly from off the pace). (7) RETOUR AU JEU kept coming

gamely to pick up 2nd last week but will likely be coming from too far back to be a serious threat tonight.

(8) VANQUISHED N should be looking at a class drop after tonight - wait for that.
