The Empire Report - Wednesday, October 20, 2021 - Race Analysis

RACE 1 - (6) BEACHBLANKETLINDY is just 1 for 26 in her career but she's hit board in 8 of 10 local

starts - was a solid 2nd last week and maybe she's finally found a field that she can beat here? (3) AERIAL

VIEW has 6 career wins and WOULD have been the top choice here (moving into a new, sharp barn) if not

for that inexplicably erratic qualifier - if her connections have her straightened out for tonight, she could be

a handful. (2) EARLYBIRD SPECIAL switched from Cory to Jordan last week and ended up with a good

trip in a pretty wild race, improving to finish 2nd - not ready to use her on top, but have to at least consider

her for a piece now. (7) TIME TO IMAGINE put in a nice late rally in her YR debut, from well back - she

doesn't appear to have any early speed, though, so she may be coming from too far back to really threaten

tonight - ok piece. (5) ROLL WITH SHORTY won here on 8/11 but has picked up only smaller pieces

since then - not impossible, but will probably continue to use her underneath only. (4) LOUD BRAZILIAN

is just 11-0-1-0 here, but may be able to beat a few for a small check. (1) CANDY PAINT draws best but

shows little in any recent start - wait for better signs. (8) MOZILLA paced on by a tiring leader to 3/4s last

week...and then didn't even last for a check - hard to like from Post 8 tonight.

RACE 2 - (3) HUNTING AS has been stuck racing from 8 holes vs. much better in his recent starts, but did

pick up a 3rd (in NW10000) when he drew Post 3 - drops all the way to the bottom now, lands a good post,

and has been 1st or 2nd in 10 starts here this year - certainly seems the one to beat! (1) THE GREAT PG

shows more weak lines than good ones in PA lately, but he wired a field 3 back, and was a sharp winner at

The Meadows back in July - might be ready for a solid try with Bartlett from the rail (and congrats to Jason

Bartlett on picking up win #9000 in the first race, on Tuesday night)! (2) SHOWMEYOURGUNS had a

hint of life 2 back, and was an ok 3rd in last - seems to be heading in the right direction again, and can grab

a piece from this spot. (6) MIGHTY SURF has struggled to win races here the past few years but her

current Monti form seems good enough to give her a shot for a piece. (7) CHIEF JUSTICE had trot at the

end of his miles the past 2 weeks - tough spot, but worth using underneath at a nice price. (5) ZAGSTER is

normally solid at this bottom level but he's struggling right now - mixed feelings about his chances. (8)

MUSCLE STAR was 5-1-1-2 here in 2019-20 but lands in a very tough spot for his first local try this year -

wait for a better scenario. (4) BIG MONEY HONEY finished up decently last time - not ready to endorse,

but will definitely start to keep an eye on him.

RACE 3 - (3) QUITE A DELIGHT N tends to go in and out of form but she was "sneaky ok" last time, gets

a much better post for tonight and figures to be a fair price - willing to give her a shot. (8) FREE EXCHAN

GE came into her last start at 1 for 39 over the last 2 years...but was still sent off as the 2/5 choice and was

a very easy winner - has to be considered a threat even from Post 8 in her current form, but pretty hard to

take a very short price on top from out here (2) WINDSONG PARISIAN gave it a good (unexpected) try on

the front end last week, holding nicely for 2nd - way too camera shy to use on top, but willing to include

underneath off that last mile. (1) SUDDEN CHANGE N has a good local history and ships down sharp

from Stga. (albeit against cheaper) - definitely a chance for a piece with the inside draw. (7) MARYMACIS

BACK was just "ok" in her last 2 local efforts (3rd and 4th) - draws poorly, and that'll probably limit her to

a minor share. (6) TELL ME A JOKE hasn't earned a cent in her last 7 starts but does drop to the bottom

level, and barnmate Diamondtoothgertie has been able to perk up when SHE drops down to the basement -

can it work for this mare too? (5) MORE THAN MANY folded out of the pocket for her new barn last

week - hard to like off that effort. (4) FEAR MY SHADOW just doesn't seem up for these right now.

RACE 4 - Tough race: (1) LIFEWITHJOHN was off a bad date to his last, got used pretty hard and his barn

was struggling at that time - goes for a new barn tonight, draws best, and perhaps we'll see a much better

version this time around. (5) HASH TAG SWAG seems like a big threat every week but he's now 0 for 10

(four 2nds and a 3rd) since joining the Dynamic Duo - hard to leave him off your tickets, but also hard to

keep using on top at short prices. (2) ALLGONOWHOA started out as a $12.5 claimer when he arrived

here and after 8 starts has moved all the way up to 25s - keeps holding his own, and we'll see if that can

continue even at this higher level. (3) ARCANE SEELSTER continues to do good work for a hot barn, and

comes into this off a solid (hard used) 2nd at this level - definitely a decent value horse to consider. (4)

THISJETSABOOKIN should appreciate the class drop, but he's been mostly "meh" in recent starts, and

hard to get excited about at a short price. (8) CASINO BAGS ANSO had been losing in 10s out of town but

shipped in and crushed the local 15s, while taking some $$ - moves up TWO classes tonight, gets stuck

with Post 8, and it would be hard to take him at another short price under the circumstances. (6) WAVES

OF FIRE A did good work for his connections after they claimed him for $12.5 and lost him for $20K just

4 starts kater - they dipped and REclaimed him last week, however, and we'll see if that ends up being a

good decision. (7) CAVIART STETSON was claimed for $30K, moved up to $40K last week, but now

drops down to $25s one week later - feels like a major red flag.

RACE 5 - (3) THANKS FOR LEAVING ships down from upstate showing a few good recent lines, moves

to a barn that does very well with fresh stock, and catches an extremely shaky NW5000 field - deserves to

be the top choice. (4) MOMMS MY DAD is hard to gauge right now because he has been racing mostly in

Amateur events - he's won here in the past, and is eligible to show up with a good effort tonight. (8) SVF

CASH DEPOSIT was way overbet when 3/5 two starts back but raced ok for 3rd off a first over trip - at

20-1 ML, he's worth at least a look, even from Post 8. (2) WHETHER OR NOT FI at least managed to stay

trotting the whole mile last week, and at least that's a step in the right direction - may put it all together

tonight and crush these, but it's hard to consider him on top (at a short price) the way he's been struggling

lately. (1) PETERS EXPRESS has a terrible local record but he drops back down, draws best, and may be

able to tow along for a small piece. (6) MAKING SPARKS finished up ok for a (distant) 3rd two back -

maybe can pick up a small piece tonight too? (7) BINGO QUEEN hasn't been close to her best game in

ages, and now lands Post 7 - tough assignment. (5) SKYWAY TINACIOUS won a race here earlier this

year, but has little going for her at the moment.

RACE 6 - (2) BAMSKI seemed like an odd claim for $25K two back but his connections clearly knew

what they were doing, and reaped immediate dividends when this guy wired 'em in his first try - no reason

he can't do it again. (3) DERECHO beat the 12.5s twice, beat the 15s, but got parked the mile from the 8

hole trying for 4 in a row vs. the 25s - moves inside, and probably deserves another chance from this better

spot. (1) CLASS SIX raced very well in his only local try this year (2 back) but that was vs. easier - rail

draw should put him right in the thick of this from start to finish. (4) UNICO LEGEND N comes into this

off three straight 3rd place finishes...and unless he can find a little more pop, he's looking at only a smaller

share once again. (6) FOX VALLEY INFERNO got some post relief last week and was able to be handled

more aggressively, ending up with a pocket trip (and 2nd place finish) behind the top choice - may be

facing a tougher trip from tonight's spot, however. (5) RYCROFT N is racing well right now but may find

things a but tougher bumping up to the 25s - certainly a chance for a piece, though. (7) MY MIND IS

MADEUP should appreciate the drop to 25s but will need things to unravel up front to make his late rally

have any impact. (8) SHOREVIEW was claimed 3 straight weeks for $20K, didn't win any of those starts,

and now draws Post 8 moving up to 25s - sticking with others.

RACE 7 - Very tough race! (6) SPORTSKEEPER raced well vs. 40s and 50s in his first 2 starts off the

claim but tailed in his last couple takes a suspicious drop to 30s tonight...and that could either be a red flag,

or just the barn looking to take home a nice win purse....one of many "questionable" players in here. (5)

BLUEBIRD RECON just missed in this class last week - he does his best work with a bit cheaper, but that

could be said for many of the entrants in here - his typical effort makes him a very live player. (7) JOJOS

PLACE has way more bad efforts in this class than good ones but had plenty of pace in traffic last week

(for a new barn), and that 20-1 ML price does make him somewhat tempting. (3) KASEY JOHN A was just

claimed PERSONALLY by the talented first year conditioner, and she'll have her work cut out trying to get

this import to snap out of his current doldrums - have seen her turn around horses quickly in the past,

though! (1) BRACKLEY BEACH is 0 for 21 here over the last 2 years, and that includes plenty of losses

vs. cheaper than these - pretty hard to consider on top, but CAN pick up a piece from this spot. (4) BOURB

ONS COURAGE may need cheaper to do his best work, even with the class drop he's getting tonight -

tough call. (2) JESSICAS BEACH BOY is highly erratic from week to week - was claimed for $15K back

in July so he may need to be in easier...even when he shows up with his "good" version. (8) TIGERS WAY

gets the drop he needs, but definitely not the post he wants - wait for a better spot.

RACE 8 - (4) MILIEU HANOVER flashed surprise speed from Post 8 last week, earned a 2 hole trip and

was right there 3rd behind 2 sharp foes - looked better getting around the Hilltop Oval than she usually

does, and there's never been a shortage of talent here - gets top billing, even with a few interesting

newcomers this week. (5) EXTRILLA HANOVER has upped her game the last few starts, though settling

for smaller pieces each time - should be a good fit here, and definitely belongs in exotics. (2) PODIUM

GIRL has been off 3 weeks and tends to be inconsistent...but on her best game, can hold her own with these

- willing to include her underneath as long as the price is decent. (3) DELIGHTFUL Z TAM was just way

too far back last week but should be closer to the action tonight - look for a much better effort from her. (7)

BARBS JANSEN added Lasix last week and left Ohio a winner - another that seems like a good fit here,

but the poor draw may leave her waiting for a better spot. (8) TENTHOUSAND ANGELS has been a

transformed mare since joining the "First Family" (5-2-2-1), but she'll be facing a tall task from out here - at

least insist on a juicy price if thinking of using her on top from this spot. (1) CHELSKI is a notch below the

top ones in here but the rail draw at least gives her a hope of taking home a minor share. (6) LET ER

BUCK likely needs to find a softer spot to be a serious player.

RACE 9 - (1) BLUE AND BOLD went through an extended rough patch but is clearly back on his game

right now - this class suits him perfectly, and he's looking at another kind trip from the pole - the one to

beat. (5) HALO ITS ME has been holding her own with better most weeks - should fit very nicely here, and

has a solid chance to grab a good piece of this. (2) STINGLIKE A B K used a perfect trip to beat much

easier last start but that may help him regain some confidence - willing to include underneath, even with the

class hike. (4) BLUFFINER has a mixed assortment of efforts recently - can be in the hunt if he brings his

best, but make sure to get a good price if considering him tonight. (6) BLENHEIM had been very good for

some time before making a final turn break last week - suppose we'll find out tonight if it was just a one

week blip, or if he's about to start heading the other way now. (3) IN MY DREAMS worked out a nice

pocket trip last week but gradually weakened to 4th - seems below the top ones right now. (7) MUFASA

AS charged home full of trot for 2nd last week after relaxing most of the way - will likely be coming from

further back tonight, though, and may have trouble getting into the hunt from out here. (8) ON HIGHER

GROUND probably needs to be in a bit easier to be a serious player (and from a better post)!

RACE 10 - (5) VIOLETS RAINBOW shipped in from Ohio, moved to a barn that could probably win with

a zebra right now, and was a dominant front end winner...despite missing a month - faces the same main foe

tonight, and there's no reason to think she won't beat her again. (2) SHE KNOWS IT ALL was sent off at

1/2 last week (off her nice win at Delaware in the $96K Ohio Breeders) but proved no match for the top

one in the lane - it's possible she can reverse that decision tonight...but she'll need to be a lot sharper to do

so! (4) CATIE FAYE HANOVER came up 3rd best behind the top pair last week, and may very well round

out a short trifecta once again. (1) BRUSH N CRUSH has a couple of recent wins vs. cheaper, but is still

unproven at this level - good draw tonight puts her in play for a small piece. (3) KEYSTONE DELIGHT

actually landed on a beautiful trip in a wild race to beat a NW2 field last week - chance for a minor piece

against these much tougher opponents. (6) SEA OF LOVE BC draws outside yet again and will need some

trip luck for even a smaller share. (8) IDEAL IN MIRACLES would have a shot at a piece from a better

post, but may have a hard time getting into contention from out here. (7) EYES DONT LIE won her last 3

starts but was then scratched sick and missed a couple of months - draws outside facing much better for her

return, and that streak will be in serious jeopardy tonight.

RACE 11 - Wide open race: (4) LIMERENCE can be pretty streaky and he's definitely come back to life in

his last couple - that 5/2 ML price is definitely a turn off, but hopefully he'll still end up being a decent

price - has the speed to land on a good trip here. (6) WARRAWEE SHIPSHAPE changed tactics last week

and it paid off beautifully - has to be respected dropping right back in the same class. (7) CASINO CUTIE

IT draws poorly but is racing well right now, and may be able to rally for a decent piece with the right trip.

(5) CON AIR HALL has been a little inconsistent, but he can be a player here if he shows up on his best

game. (3) SWAN BEFORE ALL just missed in this class on 9/8 (to #6) and is another possible player in a

field that's filled with them. (1) OOH RAH was an ok 3rd last week, but will need to be a bit sharper to

threaten for a top prize tonight. (2) SEVEN KNIGHTS picked up that win 3 back in a weird race but almost

all of his other recent starts have been sub par - prefer others. (8) MISS YOU KELLY is the outsider - both

literally and figuratively.

RACE 12 - (7) DASHINTOTHEBEACH N shipped over from NZ showing an impressive resume -

qualified sharply at PcD, but took too long to get rolling in her US debut here and came up 2nd best to #2

that night - ends up in a new barn now, but it's hard to resist that 8-1 ML price...worth a play in the finale.

(2) FRENCH SHAKER was able to hold off the top choice the last time they squared off, then was a

winner again last week - the main danger. (1) MORROCKIN K had a slowish start in her local debut but

did finish well to be 3rd - draws best tonight, and could easily pick up another board spot. (6) LINE EM UP

has hit board in 4 straight yet continues to go off at decent prices - ok for 3rd/4th. (3) PARTY QUEEN just

hasn't been sharp, but continues to be overbet - not a fan right now. (4) RELAY ROLL has been no good at

all in her last pair but does drop right back in the box (for a sharp barn) so perhaps we'll see a much better

effort tonight? (5) CINCO SENORITA was a winner last week, but on the lead, from the pole, vs. much

easier - we'll see if she can handle the class hike tonight. (8) IDEAL HANNAH doesn't figure to be able to

reach from out here.
