RACE 1 - (6) LETTUCERIPRITA A is normally a prolific winner at this level but like most of his
barnmates, just stopped showing up for a few months - he was a little better 2 back, and his last was
actually very good...if Stratton drives him like he has a chance, he may be ready to beat these now. (5)
MACH DORO A was caught WAY back early on last week so give him a pass - he does feel like he's a bit
off his game regardless, but still figures to be able to have a say against this bunch. (2) JK LUCKY CHAR
MS picked up a win in a "fall apart" race 2 back but his efforts have been mostly just "meh" aside from that
one - another that should be able to make some noise in this soft group. (3) ZIGGY SKY is 0 for 15 on the
year and hard to make a case for on top - a smaller piece is possible, though. (4) BARRYWHITE HANOV
ER never got close in his last couple and is just 1 for 30 at YR over the last 2 years - another that could pick
up a piece if the trip goes his way. (1) I GET THAT was 4th last week, but mostly by default - the rail draw
gives him a shot for another minor share tonight.
RACE 2- (2) WON LAST FEELING was 19-0-0-4 at Yonkers and pretty much an afterthought most
weeks - until unleashing a vicious brush in that victory 2 back, followed by a similar blitz last week (even
though he weakened last to 3rd) - his wakeup prompted a claim last start, and he may be ready to deliver
quick dividends to his new crew. (1) DECOY joins his 3rd barn in 3 weeks after coming up with victories
for the last two - figures to be a handful tonight, as well. (5) ARRHYTHMIC SURGE was driven poorly in
2 of his last 4 starts but finished 2nd and 3rd the two weeks that he got a trip he likes - can be a threat here
with the right journey, but not a fan of that 5/2 ML price (4) LYONS JOHNNYJNR has been a rock solid
player here the past 2 years and adds Lasix back for tonight - he's probably better suited one level down,
but still deserves consideration with these. (3) MISTER SPOT A is 9-0-0-0 here this year and that win
came in NW5000 - seems a bit overmatched. (6) LYONS LIBERTY is 0 for 24 here over the last 2 years
and lands all the way outside - minor share only.
RACE 3 - (1) ANNABELLE HANOVER was a sharp 3rd two back showing good pace at both ends of the
mile - won her next in PA, then returned last week to be a sharp 2nd to the stickout, front end winner - may
be able to take advantage of the pole and come out on top here. (7) AMAZING DREAM N won the Match
maker Final here not long ago but clearly is nowhere as sharp right now - that being said, she drops to a
level where she can still be a major threat, even from Post 7 - playable as long as the price is fair. (2) KICK
UPYAHEELS N is pretty good right now, though it's hard to say if she needs to be in a little easier - the
good draw at least puts her in the mix for exotics. (3) ROCKN PHILLY is a streaky sort who is feeling
pretty good right now - losing Brennan figures to hurt a bit, however. (6) BETTER WATCH IT was stuck
doing the heavy lifting first over the last 2 weeks and came up a game 2nd best both times - she's clearly
sharp, but she also draws poorly while moving up in class. (5) HEAVENS SHOWGIRL A benefited from a
beautiful trip last week and was able to win despite moving up 2 classes - she may be able to rally for a
piece here too, with a similarly kind journey. (4) LUCKY ARTIST A had really tailed from her best form
and was clearly in need of a freshening - she finally took some (overdue) time off, but only for a month...
we'll see how she comes back. (8) MILLWOOD BONNIE N has gone a zillion big miles this year (and last
year too!) and does seem to be off her game now - moving all the way outside won't help her cause.
RACE 4 - (3) HIGH ON ROCKNROLL raced better than expected in his first local start then proved it was
no fluke with a dead game first over try last week - he's listed at 10-1 in this very competitive affair, and
may offer the best value among the main players. (2) HURRIKANEKINGJAMES went a solid mile off a
bad date last week to be a close 2nd, and his connections give him a vote of confidence with the bump up to
25s - hasn't won in a while, but maybe that can change tonight. (1) PICARD A has landed on 3 straight
golden trips and has delivered 3 straight victories - obviously one to fear once more as he lands the pole. (4)
BRACKLEY BEACH always "figures", is right there every start BUT is just 1 for 24 on the year - can
never count him out, but he's tough to take at a short price on top. (5) BETTER UP was on a good roll but
was driven like a 50-1 shot in his last pair and admittedly, didn't look all that sharp - may just be off form
right now. Both (6) QUATRAIN BLUE CHIP and (7) MINGO JOEL seem below the others right now -
landing the two outside posts certainly isn't going to help them narrow the gap.
RACE 5 - (1) HUNTRESS is an outstanding 14-7-4-2 here at Yonkers, and that's just part of her amazing
41-25-11-3 career totals - she couldn't quite get to (4) SHESASHARPSHOOTER when they faced each
other on 8/4, but that doesn't mean she can't turn the tables tonight. The latter was a winner here in her only
Yonkers start, and certainly gets a pass for her last (shipped out to Hoosier for an Invitational) - she's back
in more comfortable surroundings now, and obviously a threat to come out on top once more. (2) MISS DO
TTIE MAE is feeling pretty good again, and steps up a notch after last week's dead game first over victory -
would be no surprise at all. (3) SMOOTH DEBATE N just missed to #2 last time after cutting the fractions
- she's been 1st/2nd in 9 of 19 local starts, and remains a legitimate player with these types. (7) IDEALINF
UN ships in sharp from PA for our leading trainer but gets the worst of the draw - not impossible, but
demand a good price if using on top. (5) REACHTHRUTHESKY AS has been better since changing barns
in May but still may be a bit below the top ones right now. (5) MAGICAL MISTRESS finally came up
with a good one last week, but now faces a double jump from a bad post - leaning towards others.
RACE 6 - (3) SHANWAY N has trouble getting involved from outside posts but the last 3 times he drew
inside resulted in a win, and two close 2nds - meets a pretty blank field here, and should have a big chance.
(2) SWAGASAURUSREX finished with some life in a couple of recent starts, is always a big price and
may be able to add some value to this ticket. (6) SULLIVAN landed on a dream trip last week and was a
winner for his new connections - not sure that victory merited a jump in class, but he catches a very soft
bunch of 20s and should be able to have some impact here. (7) WHAT ABOUT BOB was as camera shy as
they come...but did visit the winner's circle a few times since moving to our leading barn - returns off a win
over easier at Chester, but may be hurt a bit with the bad draw - a quick start would really help his chances.
(8) KEYSTONE PHOENIX takes a double drop after weeks of minor pieces in 30s - would have given him
a longer look had he not drawn Post 8. (4) ROCK LIGHTS hasn't offered much lately but the post relief
may help him at least be part of the action tonight - minor award? (1) SKYWAY BILLY was able to grab a
pocket trip last week...but then folded to last - may just need to be in cheaper. (5) MAJOR DESIRE is just
one of many from this barn that has been in a long drought.
RACE 7 - "Pop Up" Final - 1 1/4 miles - (1) COACHELLABOUND N has won 5 straight, the last three at
$2.10 - can't imagine the longer distance will bother her one bit, as she looks to take the series final after
jogging in all of her legs. (5) TALLCHIEF HANOVER won both of her series legs before meeting up with
the top choice last week - she was no match, but a very solid 2nd best...the one with the best shot to knock
her off. (2) COALFORDSNSHINE GB behaved last week and crushed a softer bunch - assuming she
continues to stay pacing tonight, she should land somewhere on the ticket. (4) FOX VALLEY CACHET
may be able to just save ground and finish well enough for a chance at 3rd/4th. (7) FRONDEUR hit board
in her last 4 starts but may have some trouble overcoming tonight's draw, especially at the added distance.
(3) BLUEBERRY SHAKE was racing well before a dull 4th two back, followed by a clunker last week -
needs a quick wake up call. (6) ANNELISE HANOVER pulled off the form reversing win 3 back, reverted
to her lesser form in her next, then was a good 2nd last week - tonight's draw could cause some trouble.
RACE 8 - (2) DRAMA ACT was much better than her line looks 3 back, and she followed that up with
very sharp scores the past 2 weeks - she goes for the threepeat tonight, and the good draw makes that a very
real possibility. (5) KARMA SEELSTER has been on her game for weeks, and should be able to leave from
this spot - belongs on your tickets. (4) MAN DONT FORGETME has been a player almost every week for
a long time, but her only two recent WINS came with Brennan on board- good one for exotics. (6) LIT DE
ROSE is as consistent as they come, and her versatility means she can never be counted out - this is a pretty
tough spot, though, and she may end up settling for a smaller piece this week. (1) MILIEU HANOVER was
a good earner as a youngster, had a solid $98K year at 4 and has already banked nearly $90K this year - she
MAY be a bit below a few of the top ones, however, and could be looking at only a small slice tonight. (3)
MORNING HAS BROKEN just re-qualified after a 2 month break and may need a start before we see her
best - leaning elsewhere tonight. (7) INCASEYOUDIDNTKNOW was 2nd to the top choice 2 back then
neat cheaper last week - may have a tough time overcoming tonight's draw, however.
RACE 9 - (2) UPTOWN HANOVER lacked room 2 starts back (at this level) then charged home to win
one level down last week - steps back up, meets an evenly matched bunch and may be able to take another -
if the trip goes her way. (6) MCMARLE SPARKLE had a very rough start to the year but started to salvage
her season this spring, and has been pretty solid since then - loses Bartlett and draws a tough post here, but
she's still worth considering if the price is right. (1) HOT MESS EXPRESS is a talented, classy mare that
just never seems to bring her best here at Yonkers - maybe this is a spot where she can shake that local hex
and get the job done? (4) SILK CLOUD A has hinted at real ability in her 3 local wins this year...but her
other 9 starts have produced only one 2nd place finish, and she remains a guessing game from week to
week. (8) JIVE DANCING A is having a terrific year and she even upset the Open 2 starts back - she was
dull in her last, however, and now gets stuck with the worst post after getting the class drop - hard to say if
she'll be able to get involved. (3) CASH ROLL had no prayer last week (8 hole) but has otherwise been in
her best Yonkers form of her career - we'll see if the move back inside picks her back up. (5) CHERYLS
SHADOW was ultra consistent early in the year but has been hit or miss recently - tough call. (7) OKINA
WA BEACH A will likely sit well back and hope to rally late...not sure that's going to work in here.
RACE 10 - (3) ROCKIN MARTY A was sneaky good on 7/26 - made an ill-advised leave attempt from
Post 8 the next start but despite being (predictably) parked, he was still battling into the final turn - raced
from off the pace in his last, and was pacing very well at the wire...may have found a winning spot here. (2)
SPRINGBRIDGE DUEL was too hard for Lachance to handle 2 back but put in a game try nevertheless -
raced super last week for 2nd (with Kakaley) driving, and probably would have been the top choice if
Kakaley was here to drive tonight. (4) CAUGHTINALANDSLIDE has been on the upswing and picked up
his first win for this barn last week - bumps up a notch, but a live trip should still see him right there again.
(1) SARANAC BLUE CHIP "improved" to be 3rd last week but would have been 2nd if actually sharp -
he's struggled for a while and even though this is a good spot, he may be vulnerable at a short price. (6)
LUCIANO N picked up his first win of the year 3 back but at the bottom level- tough draw in a much better
field tonight. (7) FRANCO NANDOR N has raced well enough to suggest that he can hang with these...but
probably not from out here. (5) DIAMONDBEACH us really struggling again - hard to endorse, but he has
been known to reverse form on a dime, at times.
RACE 11 - (1) COLD CREEK FELIPE has been knocking on the door since the recent claim, finishing
2nd in his last 3 starts (on top, in the pocket, and from off the pace) - maybe tonight he can finally get over
the hump and get his picture taken. (5) TOATSMYGOATS puts his 3 race winning streak on the line as he
debuts for a new barn off the claim - he'll be headed right for the top, and would be hard to leave off your
tickets. (3) MY MIND IS MADEUP couldn't handle #5 in his last pair but he'll get another crack at it
tonight - the other very logical player in here. (2) CAVIART VAL would get too sluggish in his local starts
and that cost him every time - he was able to overcome that much better vs. softer competition at Monti,
and we'll see how he does coming back to YR. (7) LYONS NIGHT HAWK did rally for 3rd four starts
back but his best game does seem to be the front end...and he'll be hard pressed to get anywhere near there
from this spot. (4) OHIO VINTAGE struggled in his YR return but does get a barn change tonight. (6)
SHOREVIEW disappoints way more than he delivers, and draws his first poor post in a long time as well.
RACE 12 - Tough finale! (6) ON THE VIRG is a bit puzzling - he showed life when 2nd on 6/23 then
came back to win his next start, on 6/30 - no clue as to why he qualified at Chester on 7/11, but he looked
good again...even LESS idea as to why he qualified again on 8/8, but he made an early miscue that day
(before making a big recovery) then came back here last week and jogged in yet another qualifier - at 12-1
ML we'll give him a shot! (7) B LIKE CRUISER was well meant last week but weakened after getting used
hard early - worth a look tonight if the price is right. (1) LOUIE THE HORSE N gets full post relief and
figures to be very well intentioned from this spot - possibility. (4) MACHEASY A seems like he may be
having a bit of a rough patch, but perhaps tonight's class drop and better post can perk him up - would be no
surprise at all. (2) TJS INDY PACER hasn't fared all that well in a handful of starts in the past, but he lands
in a top barn, draws inside, and we'll see how he does in his return. (5) THINKBIG DREAMBIG was well
supported in his last pair but was just "ok" - drops a peg, but would need to be a decent price to be worth
considering. (3) DESIRES CAPTAIN has some good moments, moves inside, but note that he's just 1 for
26 this year - small piece? (8) MY ULTIMATE STAR A tripped out and beat cheaper last week, but will
have a tougher time having that same impact tonight (from out here).
