RACE 1 – (4) SPORTS FLIX is 2 for 2 in this class, including last week’s front end score from Post 7 – she
absolutely deserves top billing, but she did look vulnerable in the lane last time, and may not be one to bet the rent
money on (at a pretty short price). (6) HARPER SEELSTER moved up to 25s off the claim last week, cut the mile
but gave way in the lane – drops back down to the level she loves, and has to be respected...even with the bad draw.
(5) MADDY N MAGGIE shipped in sharp from Fhd, and raced well for 2nd in her local debut (off an easy trip) –
could be right there tonight, with even just a little improvement. (2) TUAPEKA JESSIE N is having a tough year
(just one win and no 2nds from 31 starts) but her last couple were a little better – willing to use underneath here. (1)
ROCKNROLL ANNIE will likely take plenty of $$ and be handled aggressively with the class drop and the rail -
but she’d be pretty hard to back at a short price after backing through the field last week (and she’s just 3 for 56 over
the past 2 years). (7) DANDYS SHOWTIME is one of the “black sheep” in this top barn, going just 1 for 22 here in
2024 – prefer others. (3) LYONS SHELBY seems a but cheap, even in this very modest field.
RACE 2 – (6) CANNERY ROW has definitely been a better mare since changing barns on 8/20 and may have built
up some confidence with last week’s blowout win at Monti – starts from a tough spot, but willing to give her a shot
if anything close to that 15-1 ML price. (4) SHEIKH YABOOTY N is never “flashy” but has picked up 9 wins and 7
seconds already this year, and is riding a 2 race winning streak into tonight – goes for another new barn but remains
the one to beat...but likely at another very short price. (5) NUTTINBUTHEBEST often figures but hasn’t won in
some time, and is listed here as the 8/5 ML favorite – ok for exotics, but would rather use others on top. (7) TYRA
MAKES BANK has been a solid performer since arriving on the local scene, sporting a strong 14-4-5-3 record this
year – the post is an obvious concern tonight, as is the new barn. (1) LYONS MIKI is neither “terrible” nor “sharp”
right now – she did rally for a win 4 starts back, so maybe worth a look if the price is juicy enough. (2) LINE EM
UP showed some life for the first time in a long time 3 back, but then failed to build on that – leaning towards others
(3) ROCKINGWITHDAVE showed little in her local debut but did have Post 8 – maybe check the tote board?
RACE 3 – (4) COMBUSTION was actually favored over DUNKIN in a couple of local starts back in July, picking
up a pair of close 2nds behind him – he’s probably not on his “best” game right now, but should still be sharp
enough to handle this bunch. (6) BLUE LOU figures to be the main danger, though he’s another that may not be in
absolute peak form – he picked up a pair of wins here in July, and should be able to give the top one a good tussle
tonight. (2) ALABAMAJAMMA seems a bit below the top pair but he’s racing well right now (since a recent barn
change), and may be able to handle the others. (3) TWIN B POWERBALL arrives showing sharp Canadian form,
but his “class” is hard to gauge – we should have a little better picture after tonight. (1) KIMBLE A usually races
well from a spot like this, but coming off a sick scratch in his last makes him at least a bit iffy for tonight. (5) ROCK
ME ROLLME was much better in his 2nd local try, but we’re not ready to hop on his team just yet. (7) SAMHARA N
hasn’t been sharp, and now lands all the way outside after being scratched sick.
RACE 4 – (1) THUNDRA shipped in sharp from Pocono, and could have won her first start back here had she
shaken free just a little sooner – she was claimed that night, and raced ok from a tough spot last week...look for an
aggressive try from the pole tonight. (2) JILLIAN JIGGS used her speed the last 2 weeks to grab pocket trips behind
heavily favored SHEIKH YABOOTY N and finished 2nd both times – no reason she can’t be right in the mix here
too. (3) OURLITTLEMIRACLE hit board in all 3 starts since dropping down to 20s but hasn’t found the winner’s
circle yet – could be tonight, but that 3/2 ML price pretty much assures that she’ll be overbet. (5) SPEAK YOUR
MIND was a close 2nd shipping in last week but would have won had she actually been “sharp” (she landed on a
perfect trip) – she may be able to beat these, but she’ll have to be a bit better. (6) PLEASURE SEEKER was no
threat the last 2 weeks, but wasn’t terrible – maybe 3rd/4th? (4) SUNSET SOPH hasn’t been clicking in some time.
(8) CHILLIN BY THE POOL has just one 2nd from 12 local starts this year and draws Post 8.
RACE 5 – (3) ERIN showed some promise at 2 and put together a very nice 14-6-4-1 season (so far) at 3 – she
moves from her low-profile connections to the leading barn in the nation, and goes from her owner/trainer in the
bike to Brennan – we’ll hop on board. (5) FULL SCALE traded victories with NOTTINGHAM the past 2 weeks
and is 7-1-5-1 since joining his current barn – expect him to be right in the hunt again. (2) ENERGY KING was the
easiest of winners 2 back – he surprisingly was sent off at 23-1 in his next start but raced well to be a close 3
rd – can grab a good piece here too. (6) COMMUNION MONEY has been solid most of the year, and definitely racing well
right now – won’t be easy to overcome drawing outside a few main foes, though. (4) TOMBSTONE is just 1 for 25
this year (0 for 12 at Yonkers) but he does grab plenty of pieces and has a chance for one here too. (1) JAKEY JUM
PUP never seems like a real threat but he has managed to be 2nd or 3rd in 5 of his 7 YR starts – minor share? (8) STA
RLITCRESENTROLL added his name to the list of upset winners his barn has sent out over the last month – can’t
see him reaching tonight, though. (7) BARN CREDIT scored at Monti last week– we’ll see if he can keep improving.
RACE 6 – (6) MAJOR DESIRE isn’t as sharp as he was when beating the 30s earlier in the summer but he’s been
very solid at the 20K level lately – faces an overall easier group tonight, and gets the right pilot to hustle him away
to a quick start – gets top billing. (7) JUST A WRANGLER has been very good lately and was claimed last week by
very hot connections – if Siegelman can improve at the start without having to use him too hard, he can be a major
threat. (1) YOUR BROTHER wasn’t able to get in play from Post 8 last week but moves all the way back inside and
recently picked up 3 victories – he has a clear post edge over the top pair, and we’ll see if that’s enough to knock
them off. (2) LINCOLN BOULEVARD towed along for minor pieces in his last pair and he may be able to pull that
off here as well. (4) LAST MACH shows far more lesser tries than good ones but he does ship down off a pair of
good Monti tries, and it remains to be seen if he can replicate that form against these. (3) MACHLICIOUS did throw
a good one here three back but may be in a little tough tonight. (5) QUATRAIN BLUE CHIP is 0 for 29 this year.
RACE 7 – (3) ELISES DELIGHT has been going some good miles vs. the 25s and now drops down to face a pretty
blank bunch of 20s – seems to stand out, but the price will be pretty small! (1) P L PORTIA never got involved from
7th upon arrival from NJ last week but she’s looking at a much better trip from the pole tonight – maybe she can
complete the exacta? (4) LAZARUS GIRL was also no threat shipping in from Fhd. last start but she wasn’t too far
back at the end, and had a couple of good starts just prior to that– playable underneath (2) MIKILOB ULTRA pulled
off that shocker 3 back (in a race that fell apart) but failed to build off that – maybe the good draw can help her grab
a share here? (5) ALWAYS B MIMI just hasn’t been sharp in a long time, picking up only smaller pieces for months
– not sure that’ll change tonight. (7) YOU BEDA ROCK wasn’t terrible last week (off some decent Fhd. form) but
the post does figure to slow her down tonight. (6) EVAS SPORTS CZECH hasn’t been a threat in a long time.
RACE 8 – (1) IRON MISTRESS finally picked up her first victory of the season last week but she did in convincing
fashion, and she’s looking at a similarly good trip for tonight– solid chance to take another (4) FRONDEUR recently
won 3 in a row but she was dull in an amateur race 2 back then failed to prevail on the lead last week as the 1/5
choice – obviously she can bounce back and come out on top tonight, but she does seem at least a bit vulnerable at
the moment. (2) SHOTGUN PERSUASION was freshened up, re-qualified and was a close 3rd in her last – she has
4 wins here this year, and could be worth a look if the price is right. (8) PINK RUBY sports a strong 25-8-6-3 slate
this year (at Yonkers) and comes off a game win last week – she also gets stuck all the way outside, and usually isn’t
the handiest mare on the planet – may have to settle for a smaller slice tonight. (6) IM FANCY LIKE also comes off
a victory, but the move from the rail to Post 6 could hurt her chances tonight. (3) BROOKDALE JESSIE gets a good
draw, and that may help her tow along for some minor spoils. (5) ACEFOURTYFOUR ALEX is now 26-0-0-3 on
the year and hard to recommend. (7) PROVE EM WRONG has struggled at YR, currently 10-0-1-0.
RACE 9 – (4) PYRO isn’t having a “bad” year, but it does seem like the 8YO has lost a step or two – he leaves his
long-time connections for a new barn tonight, and the change of scenery may perk him up...we’ll give him a shot in
the finale. (7) SOUTHWIND PETYR was handled very aggressively last week and responded with a big try, coming
up a head shy to the sharp front end winner – very dangerous here with a similar effort. (2) JIMMY CONNOR B
hasn’t done much lately, but this does feel like a prime wake-up spot – worth including on your tickets if he’s not
overbet. (1) I DRAINTHESWAMP A was no threat last start but did get shuffled back – he’s capable of better, and
could be part of the equation tonight. (5) CYRUS N fits well at this level but doesn’t seem on his best game right
now – leaning towards others. (6) THREE GRAND has landed on a bunch of terrible trips by leaving just enough to
get parked – the same could happen here if he tries to leave against these. (3) JD was good as a youngster but hasn’t
raced much (5 starts total) at 4 and 5, with $0 earned – still waiting for better signs. (8) PINE BUSH ITALIANO is
the outsider, in every sense of the word (27-0-0-1 at Yonkers in 2023-34).
