RACE 1 - (1) BANK BOX TREASURE needed that start (off the layoff) on 2/22 then trotted home evenly
from an impossible spot last week - he should be ready for a bigger effort now, and his barn has started to
send out some pretty live horses again - one of several possibilities in a race that could go any different
ways. (2) LUCKY WEEKEND was racing well in PA to close out 2022 - was scr. lame in NJ on 2/10 but
qualified back decently and raced better in PA than his last line might suggest - legitimate chance if the trip
goes his way. (3) THE LAST CHAPTER was going through a rough patch recently but his last couple are a
bit better than they may look on paper - would consider, but only if the price is decent. (6) PASS KEY was
debuting for our leading trainer last week and was sent off at 1/2 as a result - he got the job done, but was
definitely shaky at the end of the mile - moves up and draws poorly for tonight, and MAY be a bit
vulnerable at that 9/5 ML price. (4) FULL RIGHTS dropped to the bottom level and crawled a half in 1:00
last week, leading to his victory in a while - can still be part of the equation here, but leaning a bit more to
others. (5) OH BOY has had success out of town at times and has good speed...but it'll be the job of his new
trainer to work on his stamina (which has been lacking lately). (7) TESLA SEELSTER re-qualified with
hopples after making breaks in the 3 straight - good week to just observe.
RACE 2 - (4) WARDAN EXPRESS A was pretty sharp (vs. better) here not long ago - returns at the
bottom level after a tough first over try at Pocono, picks up Bartlett, and really seems to be in a good spot to
grab a win....just don't take too short a price as his barn has been off to a cold start to the new year
(26-0-0-4)! (2) CHIEFS BEACH has been camera shy here at Yonkers (1 for 18) but finished full of pace
from well back in 3 straight starts - he's another that does seem ready to pick up a win some time soon. (5)
HES ELECTRIC is the type that'll deliver big efforts (at nice prices) when least expected, but then
disappoint off good trips, in logical spots - we'll see if Holland can find a way to time his move perfectly
tonight. (1) EL JACKO N is capable of a big mile at times but has been mostly dismal lately- make sure to
get a good price if you think there could be a wake up call coming tonight. (3) BRAZEN BRAZILIAN has
been grabbing minor checks lately but he's lost at least 43 straight here at Yonkers - bottom of the ticket
only. (6) REAL LUCKY N has been struggling for an otherwise thriving barn - outside draw only makes
things tougher.
RACE 3 - (1) AFTER ALL PAUL has been sharp for a while so it was no surprise at all to see him pick up
the game, first over win last week - he was able to outkick ALL CHAMPY in the two horse drive to the
wire, and he's the one he'll have to beat once more. (4) ALL CHAMPY has come up 2nd best in his last 5
starts, after winning 2X before that - he's as rock solid as they come, and seems to excel for any barn he
lands in - wasn't able to outmuscle #1 last week, but may be able to do so tonight. (2) LINDSEYS PRIDE
got a little too hot for his new barn last week, and weakened to 3rd after banging out a hot clip - we'll see if
he can stick around a little better tonight, and perhaps land in the exacta. (6) IN MY DREAMS picked up
3rds in his last 3 starts and while he certainly isn't "bad", he's also not on his best game right now - likely
looking at another smaller slice. (3) SWAN FINE LADY is a nice mare but still unproven at this level -
we'll see if the good draw can keep her close enough for a piece. (5) BAZILLIONAIRE never wins, but is
always a possibility for 3rd/4th (with an easy trip). (8) JIVE NINETY FIVE can hang in there with these on
his best day, but figures to have a hard time getting close from out here. (7) CELEBRITY PEGASUS tired
badly for his new barn up at Monti - waiting to see better signs from the classy 11YO before considering.
RACE 4 - (3) JOJOS PLACE rallied with good pace from a tough spot in his first try at the $25K level -
gets a better draw now, catches a vulnerable field, and looks worth a stab. (6) BETTER B SWIFT woke up
with a big effort 2 back, racing parked every step and still finishing 4th - rallied well from an impossible
spot last week, and MAY be able to upset these if Holland can find him the right trip. (4) SULLIVAN has 2
recent wins at this level, including a game first over victory last week - chance to take another with a good
journey. (1) MACINTOSH N was claimed for $30K last week (by a VERY sharp barn) and the 14YO
immediately drops in BELOW the claim price - just seems way too risky to take a short price tonight. (2)
AUDI HARE N was in good spots the last 2 weeks but just finished poorly each time - needs to be a lot
stronger late for a chance to be a serious player here. (5) DESIRES CAPTAIN went out a winner in '22 but
has struggled to get anything going in 2023 - in need of a big wake up call. (7) JK LUCKY CHARMS used
perfect trips to beat the 15s and 20s recently, but had no luck at all trying the 25s last week for his new barn
- drawing Post 7 won't help his chances tonight. (8) JACKAMINO draws Post 8 after failing to show
anything in his 2 tries off the layoff.
RACE 5 - (4) WINDSONG PIONEER was very well backed off the class drop last week, cut a solid clip
and held very nicely for 2nd when overtaken in the lane by a sharp KASHA V - will likely be favored here
to take these all the way...and there's a good chance he can do just that. (8) SEVENSHADESOFGREY
broke here in back to back starts but stayed trotting across the river last week and just missed by a nose -
he's used to facing better and IF he behaves tonight he'll have a chance to beat these, even from Post 8. (3)
BIG CHARLIE MORAN was locked on a line while trying to gain into a hot 3rd panel last week and that's
not a recipe for success - it's hard to know from week to week WHICH version will show up but IF it's the
"good" one, he can have definitely have a big say here. (1) FASHION FOREVER wasn't able to gain on the
dropdown winner last week after that one got over the half in a snail-like 1:00.1 - he should get a good trip
here, and a nice piece is well within reach. (6) NEWELL PLACE offered some mild late trot for 3rd in her
only local appearance and may be able to do something similar tonight - decent value horse for the bottom
of the ticket. (7) SUMATRA was an ok 3rd last week, helped by an easy trip from the pole - terrible draw
tonight, but Bongiorno has left with him on occasion - another ok bomb for a small slice. (5) ELEGANT
DULUPIN FR made a break on the final turn in his only YR start but was struggling well before that - he
may prefer the bigger track. (2) BY A HOFF HANOVER likes to be on/near the lead vs. softer company -
not sure he can take advantage of tonight's inside draw.
RACE 6 - (2) JKS CHAMP had a 2nd and a pair of 3rds from his first 3 starts in this barn before landing in
an impossible spot last time - drops in for a tag, moves inside, and gets Bartlett back on board for tonight -
deserves the narrow nod from this spot. (5) SILENT SPLENDOR hasn't won yet this year but he's been
finishing right behind the likes of GREAT SOMEWHERE and CERTIFIABLE lately - there's no such
beasts in here, and a good trip would give him a shot at the top prize. (6) COALITION HANOVER hit
board in his last 2 starts in this class and goes from a young pilot to Kakaley for tonight - possible, even
with the outside draw. (7) SOUTHWIND PETYR added Lasix 2 back and went out to crush a NW5000
field - deserves a pass for his last because he was forced to a hot opening quarter to deal with an erratic
favorite who really hurt his chances - he's likely a good fit with these, but overcoming the draw will be no
easy task. (3) HURRIKANE GEORGIE had fallen way off that outstanding form he maintained through
almost all of 2022 - last week was a good step back in the right direction, and we'll see if he can continue to
build off that. (1) MOMENTSTHATMATTER has a couple of recent excuses but just seems off his game
right now - maybe the rail can help? (4) JIM BLUE was hammered at the windows last start after flying
home the week before - he wasn't a fan of the front end, however, and faded at 3/5....comes into tonight off
a bad date after being scratches sick from his last, and we'll stick with others, for now.
RACE 7 - (4) MISS DOTTIE MAE really upped her game since the new year began, already compiling a
7-3-2-1 record - she steps up off last week's 1/5 victory over a NW4 field, but doesn't catch any "killer"
NW6 rivals tonight...decent chance she can beat these too. (3) DOCS DELIGHT hasn't been a serious
threat in some time, but she's not racing poorly either - this field should be well within her comfort zone,
and a good trip could see her battling for a big piece of this. (1) ST LADS BIOU finished 3rd (behind the
top choice) in her first start back as a 4YO - if she can build off that effort, she might be able to be right
there at the wire. (6) AMERICAN HALO hung badly 2 back when 3rd off a pocket trip then could only
manage even pace for 4th after another pocket trip last week - it's POSSIBLE she could beat these, but
she'll need to bring a better game than the last 2 weeks. (2) THINKING OF A CARD has been away for 3
weeks after tiring badly in the lane last week - she still has plenty of upside, but may be handled pretty
conservatively this time around. (5) ADDISON SEELSTER was 8-0-3-3 here last year, and returns from
Monti in obviously sharp form - tough call as to how she fits with the locals, right now.
RACE 8 - (1) UP HELLY AA won a ton of races in The Maritimes but has been a disappointment (overall)
since moving down to YR - tries it for a new (top) barn tonight, and he does have a couple of decent tries
recently vs. much better -- anything resembling those efforts would give him a solid chance against these.
(2) WILLY WALTON is the "x factor" tonight - if he shows up on his game, he's be very tough to knock off
here....but he's thrown major clunkers in 3 of his last 5 starts, and can only be considered "risky at best"
right now - hard to take a short price, but he DOES have a chance to show up in the right mood and beat
these. (5) STEALING was an ok 3rd two back, then was "sneaky sharp" vs. a good field last week - the
right trip could put him right in the mix. (4) ARABELLAS CADET never looks all that sporty but she still
tries very hard, and is usually trotting hard at the end of the mile - include in exotics. (3) STICK WITH ME
KID has been somewhat in and out, but may need to be in a little easier for a chance at a victory. (6)
SWISS HOUSE ONFIRE was able to hit the lead and handle easier 2 back but went offstride last week -
remains iffy vs. these, especially after drawing outside. (7) R HERBIE BLUE CHIP makes his 2nd start off
the layoff and doesn't seem ready to do much damage from a spot like this.
RACE 9 - (7) GREAT SOMEWHERE has now won 5 of 6 this year with the lone loss coming to
CERTIFIABLE (who was debuting for our leading barn, and raced well against OPEN horses right after
that) - he certainly won't offer any value but playing against him hasn't been too profitable! (6) ROSE RUN
X CON has compiled an outstanding 14-4-6-2 record since arriving last year, and rebounded from a (rare)
dullish 4th two back with a nice 2nd to the top choice last week - tough draw, but always seems to find
ways to get into the hunt. (2) WHAT ABOUT BOB lost all chance with an uncharacteristic early miscue
last week but did well to get 4th after recovering - he's been a transformed horse since joining this hugely
successful barn, and has a chance for a good piece with the inside draw. (3) STELLAR YANKEE rallied
well to grab 2nd two back, then took advantage of a soft field to pick up a victory last week - a live trip puts
him in play for another good chunk tonight. (5) MINK STREET came to life in a big way after teaming up
with Northfield's dominant barn on 1/31, rattling off 4 straight - very hard to gauge how he'll do against the
locals, but we'll find out tonight. (4) SHIP WRECK WIZARD went sour for a while after a long winning
streak came to an end - has been rebounding lately, and it would be no surprise to see him grab a piece here.
(1) DA GHETTO WIZARD tripped out to win in this class 3 back, but usually seems a notch below these -
the rail could help him grab a share, though. (8) TUGGIN ON MY HEART ended his year winning 5
straight at Monti - Boyd's own lands in a mighty tough spot for his 2023 return, though!
RACE 10 - (3) KASHA V has been pretty good overall lately, but that last win was particularly sharp - his
barn has been doing some good work lately, and this guy may be able to take another. (7) IM THE
MUSCLE has missed three weeks and also moves up in class from Post 7...but he comes into tonight off
back to back 1:55 scores, and CAN trot with this type too when sharp - consider if the price is right. (6)
REIGN OF HONOR has been racing well in the Stga, Open and the winner of nearly $600K seems like a
good fit against the locals - his last start here (in 2020) was a win, so don't hesitate to try him if you think
he can find a good trip from this spot. (2) LIGHTFOOTEDLEGEND raced ok here a few years back, and
there's nothing wrong with that qualifier (behind an Open pacer) - draws inside, and could pick up a decent
piece of this (4) CALL ME DANI is listed at 2-1 ML, but he was dull here (as the favorite) on 1/19 and he
broke in his only other local try - seems like there's better value to be had with others. (8) BLUEBIRD JES
SE recently changed barns and certainly went a big effort last week, never seeing the cones but still
finishing 3rd - not sure he can find a way to overcome the draw, however. (1) MUFASAAS was a "meh"
2nd off an easy trip last week - one of his better efforts could land him on the ticket here, but he's just been
too unreliable to take a shortish price. (5) LADY JETER has struggled in many recent starts, but has also
had a lot of bad posts - she really wouldn't be a shock in this pretty wide open finale.
